haha... There's a contest going on right now on the "giftsfilms" channel, there havent been many entries so if you submit one of your videos, there's a good chance you'll win, go to the "giftsfilms" channel for more details....just do it...you could win an all inclusive trip...
"President Bush has not fired Alberto Gonzales because he can't fire Alberto Gonzales." Awesome, Josh. He can't afford an independent AG, which is all the Senate would give him.
i follow each of your videos. think they are better than all other reporting. but then again neo cons won't agree, yet who cares about them...they're history anyway!
I've always been a big fan of the blog. The tv is a fabulous addition. Loved the backstage scenes with kerry and Colbert. You deserve an award and someday you'll get it.
I really LOVE your reporting. If anything, after watching each video I get frustrated at the small number of people it will likely reach. But I think you are doing a fantastic job so far. Keep it up!
Here's my idea: show us the voter fraud breakdown by fired USAs. I just watched your 4/24 video where you say 3 of the 6 USAs for areas Rove pointed to in his speech were fired. I'd like to know how many D and how many R voter fraud cases each of those 3 USAs prosecuted [for the same period]. And might as well show stats for all the fired USAs. Maybe a chart?
I've been following the TPM blog and its progeny for quite some time now, and this video diary adds to Josh Marshall's credentials. Like Ana Marie Cox (aka "Wonkette") and a rare handful of REAL journalists, he's not afraid to get to the genuine story, unlike the cowards who run and anchor the MSM. Keep it up, Josh -- you have a lot of fans here in Canada!
I'm loving the TPMtv. I watch it on my Wii when I get home. I wish Atrios & Kos would do something like this. Especially since we don't get to hear them anymore on Sam Seder's show. :(
I do find the little ads wierd, but I understand they help provide natural breaks & promote the site to folks who find it on youTube.
(2) but they don't have time to hunt through blogs with their cluttered information design and overkill of blog entries, just to extract the basic understanding of "what is happening, why, what does it mean in larger context?"
This no-frills direct-to-viewer conversation nails it. The format is just the underlying structure. Ultimately what matters is your own editorial filtration of what's important to convey, along with a very appealing presentation style.
what do i think about TPM TV? Essential. Exactly the piece that's been missing. This deconstruction and explanation of why Bush can't fire Gonzales was clear, simply explained, illstrated, and short. The missing link has been "summary commentary" on "TV" which compresses a lot of information into a short amount of time. It fills a niche that the blogosphere has not been doing. MANY people would like reliable and professional alternative news sources.
(3) Tone is balanced, quiet (such a contrast to phony TV news "professional" sound template that tries to convey gravitas. It's ALWAYS been audio noise, detracting from the content). It's also not the "angry" indignant blogger tone. Thankfully again. So much of this works because of the pro sitting in the chair. Thank you.
isn't also because he kept bush from going before a jury for his DUI case?

Answering Josh's question. How TPM TV doing ?
Well, pretty well, I'd say. Watching it daily. Concise, informative, to the point, what real TV should be.
So when do we get 15 to 30 minutes specials on specific issues ?

This is an awesome service. I like it because it's about 10 min of news in 10 min. not 10 min of news and 20 of commercials/BS

I'm sure Bush must know a lot of useful idiots who are relative blank slates who could take on the job

Ana Marie Cox --- getting to the genuine story?
Hmmph. I guess if the story is gossip, she hits it hard. ...

I agree with quicksite, I think these have been well done. I don't really see what more you could do. Maybe two episodes a day?
