  • Awesome! Really gives you some perspective.

  • Superb.

  • great video thanks

  • love the video man

  • some really good stuff here

  • great video thanks

  • Cut short there dunno how, the earth is way to small to get something as large as the sun to orbit it, as stars go our sun is pretty small, but the gravity it has is still immense, how do you think it gets Pluto to orbit it? Which is on average 3.67 billion miles away from it, and the rest of the kuiper belt (in which Pluto is situated) which would be even further away, in my opinion it would be impossible for the earth to have any influence on the movement of the sun.

    Great video too ;)

  • To the people who (I think) are saying that the earth does not move. We can tell that the earth is moving because we have seasons. The earth is slightly tilted on it's axis, if it wasn't then we would have just winter and summer. When the earth moves round the sun the it is either tilted towards the sun, or away from it, if towards towards it, it is summer in the northern hemisphere and winter in the southern, if tilted away it is the opposite. Also the earth is way too small to get somethi

  • @cmonutube yes v can frm there cuz it's at a location where some or no clouds are seen..high above in the mountains

  • complete mindfuck

  • wait, can one really see the stars that clearly in that region of the world? or are the pictures of the sky enhanced?

  • @cmonutube might not be able to see with the naked eye but with those kinds of cameras it's possible.

  • this is fake!! WE ALL KNOW EARTH IS IN THE CENTRE OF THE UNIVERSE!

  • @wtfisthis6 lol you're a dumbass.. it's not the centre of the universe... go back to science class and listen.

  • @samdreampeace Actually, we are the center of the visible universe.

  • The video was awesome.

  • what did religion do?

  • great work!! absolutely loved it

  • Just amazing!

  • Nice video and I like the music....

  • I'm an asshole with an opinion, but what does that make you?

  • The top comments are really sad. Is it too much to simply enjoy the view from our quiet suburb of the universe? It's one thing to be an atheist; it's another to just be an asshole with an opinion. Guess which one you guys are?

  • @redoxepk The latter?

  • @redoxepk one thing to be an atheist?

  • @fernieboy

no way! What is it that you agree on?

    Earth doesn't move?

Can't be possible......i haven't found anyone that really understands what I say. If you do agree on that.....I'd like to discuss other things with you to...to see if you actually see the way I see things. Very rare if its so.

  • Food for thought:

    Star trails......

You take a picture at night capturing the path of the stars at night......pointing towards the mountains.

You end up also capturing passing cars and passing planes.

You end up with light trails for the stars, the plane, and the cars.......

    Whats moving?

    Remember.......motion is all relative!

ANSWER: They are all moving relative to the Earth, where every single humanbeing lives!

wake up people! We have to think about what actually could be true!

  • Ummmmm....day and night does not prove the Earth spins.......try again!

Night is because the source of light is on the otherside of the Earth! Theres error in your reasoning.

Nor does Polaris or any other star prove the Earth is spinning! Same reasoning as above!

This is "blind faith" my fellow man. What experiment is there that shows this motion? ---> NONE!

You're mixing up science and beliefs!

You've have gone passed science and are confusing facts and beliefs!

  • @byranmichelle I agree 100 % with you - it's funny how the camera takes up more and more nearby land as it films - yet its sitting on the same land lol -so even if the earth WAS spinning ( which it's not ) the land immediately surrounding the camera would NOT change - but in this video it does lol - many people have lost their ability for critical thinking

  • @byranmichelle the earth's magnetic field proves it's spinning. I think, please don't hurt me

  • Because its a belief that the Earth moves! its not a fact....just a belief!

Camera must be mounted and slowly rotated to get this!

This is not the Earth moving you spreader of lies!

You cannot prove the Earth moves!

If you can....what kinda experiment can we see to demonstrate the Earth's motion? Think real hard! I've been on this topic for almost 4-5years, I'm ready to give an answer!

  • @byranmichelle well 1st off day and night proves the earth is spinning, 2nd have you ever heard of Polaris or (the North Star, is somewhat bright star that is located almost straight above Earth's north pole. Because of this, when it is seen from Earth, it looks like it always stays in the same place in the sky. This is different than other stars which look like they move in a circle in the sky because of the Earth's rotation.) just a few of the many things =) you just got learned....

  • This is not true!

That shows the camera rotating, not the Earth!

  • this is an awesome video. have no clue why the comments below are arguing about religion. but anyway, great job on this video. I had to repeat it 5 times!

  • Was the camera timelapse mounted on a Gyroscope Tripod? Making it possible for it not to move but only stay still as the earth moves?

  • @vwlover94 no

  • How about we have a top comment not about religion. Maybe bacon? I like bacon.

  • Of course the two top comments are from two ignorant blissful idiots.

  • @monkeymirror And yours comes from anger, denial and absence of evidence.

  • I checked the comments for some, "Wow - this is really cool" type comments and found a religious debate. Lame, people. We should be talking about how awesome this video is. Ugh.

  • How they can see stars in the morning (daylight).. amazing!!!! :)

  • I fear that it is an amoral universe. We have imprinted our morality, creating God, but the universe really doesn't care.

  • It's like being on a giant spaceship where Earth is the spaceship.

  • I like this but damn... getting motion sickness

  • this is trippy as fuck!

  • We are not the center of universe.

  • Where is Carl Sagan?

  • @cobalt789 How is this persons comment, not top rated?

  • Wow. All of you could ruin a wet dream with all your bickering back and forth about subjects in which you know no empirical truth about either way. You cant even watch a simple video showing the wonder of all in a new perspective without reinforcing you egos clingyness to ideologies because you have given up on searching for the truth of your reality. Or at least a morsel anyway. Christians love God because of their fear, and Atheist hate God because of their fear. Two sides of the bullshit coin

  • @rea1001 "You cant even watch a simple video showing the wonder of all in a new perspective without reinforcing you egos clingyness to ideologies because you have given up on searching for the truth of your reality." I'd just like to point out that you are also being egotistic and dominant, if you want to argue about ego you should try to take a more balanced and humble approach.

  • @anyokes My delivery has nothing to do with the content of my statement. And the ego is not the focal point as you suggest. Truth is the focal point, which no one has found, yet People of both beliefs project as being so. Pointing this out is not arrogant, its logical. Humility is subjective. For instance, in my mind I am being humble. I could have said, Christians are dumb-asses who believe in make believe, while Atheist believe all created itself or came from nothing. Both parties are idiots.

  • @rea1001 i tink dat d way u say tings has a bigger effect than the words themselves, and i know thats not the focal point of your arguement, i disagree wit both christians & atheists also, but what gives anybody the right to judge others beliefs, if, as you say, noboy has found truth, then y condescend on these "idiots" who have "given up searching for d truth of ur reality"? Reality is wats left over when wer done subconciously filtering out d info dat threatens our beliefs, it is perception.

  • @anyokes Because believes are not People, and we judge believes all the time even if we dont realize it. One definition of judge is: "to form an opinion about through careful weighing of evidence and testing of premises". You mean to tell me this is wrong? Who does not do this yourself included? The example I gave in which you are now using was as I told you "I could have said", and was an example of me NOT being humble, including calling them idiots. I agree with your last sentence somewhat.

  • @anyokes However, what is 'real' about filtering out that which threatens our believes? That which threatens does so for a reason, its either usually something we know to be true, but avoid it, or something that might be true, and avoid it just in case. How is that real? How is that reality? Reality is facing a thought even though that thought might destroy our previous concepts and believes, because we are searching for truth, and not settling because of our weariness of searching.

  • @rea1001 we recieve over a million signals evry minute from the environment, most of them we arent concous of recieving because we cant handle dat much information and organise it rapidly, we would only percieve chaos, so the nervous system is making diff evalautions at diff levels working its way up, so it throws out all the info dat seems unimportant, or threatening to our beliefs, the our brains make a model of whats left and we projeect the model outwards and consider it reality.

  • @anyokes Im not sure I understand you, because my words in text have no inflection. So how does one know "how Im saying something", when there is no inflection and just words. Words themselves have no emotion, they are just characters of topography on a sheet or page. Thank you by the way for reasoning with me now, instead of deflecting.

  • @rea1001 when i said "the way you say things" i didnt mean tone of voice or anything, i meant the choice of words (which of course have no emotion, they are just symbols, i understand that) it seemed to me like you were making judgements on the basis that you yourself see yourself as supreme because of your aparrent intellegence.

  • @anyokes And since I am criticizing believe systems opposed to Humans; I only criticized the Human bickering, I doubt a 'verb' will feel insulted or dominated by my statements.

  • @rea1001 yes i agree fully with criticising beliefs, (most importantly our own) and i share your distaste for bickering, only for you went on to say "about subjects in which you know no empirical truth about either way", this seems to be intended as an insult towards a human, not a verb.

  • @anyokes And back to the subject, the 'verb' believe, I doubt it is so black and white, but like everything else is somewhere in the grey area.

  • @anyokes I will wager 50 bucks you are a Christian. Atheist have stronger deductive reasoning abilities and would not present such a blatant Staw Man Argument as a response. Also Humility is not a concern for them for they are not as sensitive in Nature as Christians. I presume you are of either group. For you seem to have been emotionally effected by my statement instead of Mentally effected as evidenced by your emotional plea of "be nice" basically. Its off topic. Either debate, or dont reply.

  • @rea1001 i am neither christian nor atheist, i believe that there is a force in the universe that drives us but that we dont understand. i am not spiritual, but i believe parts of it are true, as modern science continues to verify what was previously considered spiritual, hippy mumbo jumbo. so i dont know what category of belief i fall under. i love debating too, but not if it reverts to insults when the information runs out. PS so can i have that 50 bucks? :P

  • @anyokes Indeed. Science is proving some amazing things. And as I have stated, I think it falls somewhere in the grey area of either side of the fence. Do you accept money orders? :)

  • @rea1001 yea you summed up both Belief Systems (BS) pretty well :) but this thread is getting pretty hard to follow, the comments are all over the place. ive enojyed this discussion so ill let you keep your money, maybe you can donate it to your local church :D

  • @anyokes lol, thats funny. Ok, take care of yourself.

  • @anyokes Oversimplifying an opponent's argument, then attacking this oversimplified version is an example of a Straw Man. You also present a Red Herring by diverting attention away from an item of significance in my statement, and then focusing it on what 'your' ego desires for a pleasant and 'balanced'; whatever that means, delivery. You wouldn't last one second in any serious debate, and would be laughed out of the room with an argument like that. From now on you get the asshole from me.

  • @rea1001 when did i oversimplify and attack? if i did i assure you it was only for lack of space in the comment box. i try to package my arguements in as few words as i can, i try to sinplify because i personally found that most complex arguements can be solved when they are boiled down to one simple point that neither party can dispute. can you show me when i did this straw man thing so i may explain myself, and maybe find out why you have suddenly become hostile towards me?

  • @anyokes Im not hostile, only an example of hostility as a gesture Im truly meaning no offense with my words or statements. A comparison if you will. I agree, this format of 500 characters is a bad medium for debate. I honesty see no empirical evidence either way for the believes of both parties being right in their totality either way. An air of superiority I never intended as a projection.

  • @anyokes After talking with both parties over the years, I have deduced that for Christians their focal point is hell. They continually are obsessed with it. Which leads me to believe the only reason they Worship, is because of their fear of dying and going to hell. Atheist also are preoccupied with punishment from God, and fix this as their focal point as well. Subconsciously; it seems, that their motivation to dismiss Christians is also based around this fear of punishment.

  • can someone please explain the yellow line?

  • i wonder if the slight movement of the stars that seem to be near us is from not 100% fixing the camera so it does not show star movement because of rotating or if you actually see the stars come near or get further away because the earth flies through space. That would be so freaking cool :)

  • What are the yellow beams coming out of the observatories?

  • @bweazel Probably beams of light that they shoot at the refractors on the moon

  • awesome, I was watching the Tom Lowe timescapes video and thought that it was backwards and the sky should be still and the land should move, thanks for making a more accurate time lapsed sky!

  • I've never seen this before. So cool.

  • this is beautiful. i just want to study astronomy for the rest of my life

  • Who disliked this video?

  • Comment removed

  • "Arcadia", by Kevin Macleod, details in the video's "show more" section.

  • Anybody know what that music is?

  • スゴいな、そういう視点で捉えたか。(jp

  • omg stop turing the fking camera, i just wanted to look at the sky

  • @grbafy indeed.

  • @grbafy Fake religions are, but not the true religion that is free from innovations. Try using your intellect, logic and reasoning. :)

  • @grbafy fraud is the biggest religion of mankind

  • i'm a theist and i dont say that everything i don't know is a God , because i know what is GOD ... so stop call me a dumbass you ignorant bastard ǔ_ǔ ....

  • Cool video, but the audio quality is kind of low

  • @Hartzil haha! nice one dude! :D

  • The music sounds similar to Edward Scissorhands by Danny Elfman

  • Spaceship Earth

  • Two things theists and atheists can agree on:

    1. Space is awesome.

    2. Nobody likes us agnostics.

  • @JagannathMxO that was actually a very good comment, good on ya

  • @Hartzil and @tacospartan I do understand all of that, but you're wrong in saying I lack critical thinking. The vast majority of civilised society outside of the US seems not to degenerate into these religion vs science rants. In other words it's mostly a non issue and it's annoying that online discussions seem to centre on it because of the ignorant evangelical masses and the equally zealous reactionary anti-religionists over there.

  • Who else thought of Creeper World immediately?

  • That is absolutely stunning.

  • any one else see the giant ass phaser they just shot up into the sky?

  • What is wrong with you Americans that you take such a beautifully edited video and turn it into a moronic debate about God or geocentricity or religion?

  • @johnfau06 to think that only americans would do what you just described, shows how stupid you truly are.

  • @johnfau06 Why are you aiming at Americans specifically? This particular debate concerns the entire population of the planet.

...and anyway, what more is there to say, other than, "Awesome video!". Once that's out of the way, we can get down to rubbishing the God-spammer's "logic". :-)

  • @johnfau06: I'm not saying this excuses that behavior, but with the rise of fundamentalism in the US, a lot of non-religious (mainly younger ones, I'm guessing) feel frustrated by what they see as willful-ignorance of Christians and other religions regarding science.

  • How they do this it is awesome!

  • awsum never thought id see something like that.

  • thats so cool.

  • I love the stars! i never get tired of videos like this!

  • briliant

  • GOD BLESS TIME LAPSE PHOTOGRAPHY

  • @phaedrus415 Yeah, because typing in CAPS makes God real...

    /forehead

  • @Kathisophobia

'The time-lapse starfield has been edited to show the rotation of the Earth from the point of view of the stars'.

  • this video, showing reality like it ought to be, reveals the egocentric illusion our species have been accustomed to for millions of years.

  • I think Thunderf00t will be pleased to see this, if he hasn't already...

  • all religions are cults so shut the fuck up and enjoy the video

  • wow you find out that earth spins... like we didn't knew that :P

  • @aleksinjo1 , some people don't, even today. When you meet one, you'll understand why we need videos like these.

  • Please crop the video correctly. It's breathtakingly amazing. I'd really love to see it in true full screen.

  • @segadult Impossible. The way this video is made, it becomes absolutely necessary to crop out large chunks of frames. The "camera" focussing on a particular part of the sky will, inevitably, have to follow its target beneath the horizon.

  • @Sheshader I understand that, but this video was encoded in a way that adds at least 300%-1000% more black area than the issue you're talking about. Instead of being encoded as a widescreen video in widescreen format, it was encoded as a widescreen video in 4:3 with letterboxing. This creates huge black bars on the top, bottom, left, and right that never, ever contain any video data. The whole video is shrunken unnecessarily, and in turn lowers its impact.

  • @segadult Ah, the border bars... my bad. You're right, they could've been avoided.

  • Comment removed

  • Should have been cropped, the display is awful.

  • I wonder if Richard Dawkins has seen this? I reminds me of the Wittgenstein quote he uses in The God Delusion, about "what would it have looked like if it looked as though the earth were going round the sun?"

  • Amazing.

  • Who is here cause of Tumblr?

  • @AnFSonic mee

  • This is beautiful. I've never looked at the world from this perspective. A+

  • brilliant

  • Thats just awesome what the sky really looks like as we are spinning!

  • Now I want to play Super Mario Galaxy.

  • Good to see some of you heading the proggression of the human race into space.keep it up.

  • Space! Space! Gotta' see Space!

    SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE

  • space ship "earth"

  • Quality of the auditorial tunes were so bad! I admit the views and idea of relative movements are astonishing and amazing.

If the music were imaginable, the whole presentation would be great!

  • Interesting alternate perspective ^^

  • :') beautiful

  • The music is completely suitable for this video. Absolutely stunning.

  • Nice!! we need more stuff like this its shows the true beauty of nature and earth |:)

  • Holee crap.

  • whooooow, double rainbow all the way

  • Could you crank up the volume a little bit more, I don't think you have enough distortion yet.

  • @Sun4Niebieskieoczy well done, couldnt have worded it better myself. i just wish more people knew what we do and we can finally live freely

  • @Sun4Niebieskieoczy Shut up u prick. God isn't real how can you be so dumb to believe such bullshit.

  • Comment removed

  • @Sun4Niebieskieoczy

Giordano Bruno was burned at the stake over 400 years ago for teaching that humans have the same soul as animals. Which the church at the time kinda proved his point. Note: no burnings today by that church

Bad of course to burn someone alive over what should be a non-issue. But I notice you say nothing about the only religion that still burns people alive today and sometimes their own children with pre-approval of the killing with their religion.

  • @Sun4Niebieskieoczy

Also note the biggest players to this change of the church was the founding fathers of the US.

The primary reason we separated from the monarchy was for religious freedom. Which means to not be forced to practice what the king told us to practice or die trying. Yes, it was executable to practice teach any religion other then one under the kings rule before the US revolution.

What do you think the book Common sense by Thomas Paine was about?

  • @OxAO I think you need to crack open a few more history books. You got your facts all messed up, which isn't very suprising tbh, the biggest reason we revolted was over religion? LOL!

  • 39 people believe the Earth is flat.

  • Surprisingly beautiful.

  • Incredible.

  • Great work, guys!

  • goes beautifully with rolling in the deep by Adele!

  • whats with the orange laser shooting into the sky at 0:40 its really cool

  • @SC2Slyphen the laser is used to create a false star to calibrate the instrumentation of the telescope

  • @s3r3g ah thank you

  • Great work. Thanks.

  • Bravo! for the video.

  • Thumbs up If you think that the video is REAL !

  • Lol why is religion important? I don't give a damn if your catholic, christian or muslim. I wanna look at the pretty stars.

  • Okay I am confused. What do you attach the camera to be able to get that shot?

Freaky, got a headache from it lol

  • It's a bit disorienting when seen from this perspective... makes you appreciate gravity much more.

It be sad to be one of those confused individuals believing our star and others orbit around us.

That's why religion comes into this subject, many are known to harbor such ideas.
