I learned to drive in my grandfather 1953 panel truck when I was 14 and drove it well into my mid-20's without a problem. The trick is to have blind-spot mirrors and always back into parking spaces whenever possible! Did you know that 90% of parking lot accidents happen when people are backing out of a parking space?
I agree with you, bestamerica, and it's been one of my pet peeves forever: no turnsignals on this vehicle. After driving the Mass Pike in pouring rain, I realized that having flashing brakelights sub for real amber turnsignals is dangerous. Come on, GM, NHTSA, et al, some countries require them, why not here? I won't buy one.
again, not all cars have amber turning lights. In fact many small cars (not just chevy) dont have have the ambers on the rear. Once again, gas on the right is not uncommon. Ford has many of their cars with the tank on the right as this also reduces the chance of fumes igniting while filling up (you are farther away from the pump) Over all, the design is one of the most retro and erganomical chevy has put out! Do your freaken research!
actually the car is very well designed. it's perfect for someone who needs a 'little big car'. i'm a transportation design student at the College for Creative Studies and have to lug around TONS of supplies and such. my HHR is perfect for the job, it has tons of room and cubbies to store my supplies, but yet it's small and can easily fit into the small parking spaces in Detroit. plus it's gas milage is fantastic. you really shouldn't judge something without having a personal experience with it.
It says no back seat at all but it sure looks liike that back would fold up doesn't it? What's under there in that space then? Why couldn't they option some seats in it? I sorta like the look and it's cheap (for a new car).
bullshit i drive a semi if i turn to look back all i see is my bed and if i had a window in the rear all i would see is my 53 foot trailer this why i use my mirrors
ya... thats why they teach in driving skool to not stand in trucks blind spots. On a truck you have to scope the mirror, but this isnt a semi... and im sure the driver testing the car wasnt a semi driver. When your driving a normal car though you should not be lazy, turn your head to check the blind spot and then switch lanes. Safer and faster. Plus dont go all experienced on me cuz my grandfather was a truck racer, and ive drove with him cross country when he was driving big rigs
Yeah but this is a teeny vehicle. You can aim the mirror to cover everything except what you can see out the passenger window. Growing up we drove a chevy10 everywhere with no windows and we never had big problems. I'm sure it would be a LITTLE inconvenient in this day and age where we are used to "safe" fishbowls to drive around in, but to make it the main feature in the article makes the guy sound like he doesn't have any experience and shouldn't be evaluating this car.
Chevy didn't think of making it with 2.0L turbo, for Express Delivery Service.

why do you think chevrolet put those thing on the out side doors i thing they call them mirrors you check before lane changes dumbass
biggkattdaddy 4 years ago 2
you dont see blind spots only using the mirror, which is why they teach u to turn back and look out through the passenger windows.
