lol the kind people even put heel and toe pedals on for you , this is one hell of a car . Ive always liked the octavia VRS hopefully gettin one in black , ill be putting a kit on it and a few engine tweaks .Congratz on the car mate .

Why was it in a Ford garage? Cos thats where i bought my beast from four lovrly long years ago. Was one of 3 for salle at the time and by going up to Sedgefield I got her for £5000 cheaper than down south mate. I still have her and I think I always will. Mine is no81.

There seems to be a lot of confusion over the naming od these vehicles. As a Manager for SKODA UK & Ireland, i wish to point out that we market the 2.0 Turbo Petrol and the 2.0 TDI 170Bhp Diesel as Octavia VRS. This has come about due to the patent that FORD UK placed on the term 'RS' in the 80's due to the release of the RS Fiesta's. Escort's etc etc. I hope this clears up the matter fully, but should anyone care to look into this, please be my guest.

Type VRS doesn´t exist. It´s only RS. The green V is only symbol of Skoda sport and only RS Skodas wear this symbol.

To že budu prodávat fabii combi a v anglii tomu budu říkat fabia longer aby se to vůbec prodávalo, protože to nemá ani z daleka parametry rodinných kombíků, tak to bude pořád fabia combi. Stejně tak VRS... To vím, že TAM tomu tak říkaj. Asi proto že to má aspoň symbolikou Vrs připomínat motor do V u dražších aut, protože co si budem povídat, v UK je Octavia tak nějak auto pro chudý narozdíl od Česka... podobný případ je OCTAVIA II v Indii

To je jen obchodni politika. Kdyz u nas reknes Skoda 120, tak kazdy vi o co jde. V UK je to Skoda Estelle. Podobne Garde bylo v UK prodávano vzdy jako Rapid..Myslim ze Octavia je vnimana uz prece jen dnes lip.

@Zubatec Yes in Europe it's called a RS but in England they had to call it VRS because I think Ford uk was going to sue them because Ford has the RS name. I have a Fabia vRS Mk1 and its a great great car!

hehehehe, it´s funy that people in UK think that Fabia RS and Octavia RS is something as VRS. It´s NOT letter "v" but hacek/wedge over letter "S" in original name in Czech - ŠKODA. Hacek is traditional symbol of ŠKODA Motorsport - official Škoda factory team. So only Škoda Fabia RS, Octavia RS and WRC for rally

If I remember correctly VRS stands for Victory in Rally Sport. VRS in UK only I believe as Ford use RS.

I apologise for my previous post being a bit miss-leading. I have a 2003 vRS (not WRC!) I did look at one before I got mine but it was a bit of a rotter (mingy and beyond cleaning seats/carpets/doorcards etc and tatty bodywork) which was a shame. Chuffed to bits with mine tho

I think skoda new octavia is better of the golf 5, 'cause the style is really good and better of the "japanese feeling" design of the new golf.

Skoda has a huge potential to being a must.
