i hear this track and i find myself staring at the screen in a state of odd deja vu, and i cant move..then the memories from being a child hit me..rush over me..and i feel like i am not actually here. and i almost feel like crying. for no real reason.. what a weird sensation
the 80s and early 90s were a great time to be a kid eh and the mid-late 90s were fantastic to be a teen isn't that right? did you see this in theaters as a kid? i saw it 3 times, got the poster and CD soundtrack as well
What was done in free time back in the '80s and early '90s was watching TV, renting movies on VHS at a physical store that you drove or walked to, and playing Nintendo games. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had all three of these areas covered. They also had the action figure part covered. Birthday party ware, and even my underwear, they were literally everywhere. I remember finding a lost Raphael figure on the side of the road. That's how much the Turtles ruled the fucking country.
@Game1ngAssass1n It was a different world. Not necessarily better. Things like this had more meaning because there were fewer of everything. Nintendo was really the only videogame system, until Genesis, then Super Nintendo. You had only about 5 - 6 television channels, about 20-30 if you had cable. And most importantly, the big difference, is there was no internet. Most to nearly all of my free time is spent on the internet nowadays. Back then was very simple.
I would like to make one correction. There was an internet in the time you are speaking of. It wasn't as widely used or publically used, but the internet did exist. Public internet access became a more common thing around 1989, and exploded around 1995.
There are web pages that still exist from 1995, they are primarily text-based. Netscape became the dominate browser because they gave it away free. At the time you had to buy browsers.
@Game1ngAssass1n But now, we can communicate and get everything in no time and its fucking great. It's changed everything. It's astonishing how far the internet and technology has come in the 14 years since I first discovered the internet. That was when it took 5 minutes or more to load a page. It took a whole day to download a movie trailer. And the first internet/phone bill was over $2,000 because we didn't realize that the internet was calling 400 miles away for every page surfed.
I think its a wonderful time to be alive right now. The wars and shit happening now is no different to any other time. There's always war and the end of the world is always near. It's just when we grow up, we start to understand it better, when we are kids we are ignorant to it and what it means. We can revisit the past through the internet and I can talk to you, a complete stranger, and share in our love for something great.
@Game1ngAssass1n I think the world as a whole is smarter and more intelligent now that we have this open communication with each other thanks to the internet. Communication is important. It brings people together. Countries that were oppressed are now daring to break free and in turn through widespread/shared knowledge others are liberating themselves and being inspired. People realize that others out there feel the same way and we can now clearly tell the intelligent from the idiots.
@Xyberfaust The problem is that too much media oriented stuff kind of makes you think there is nothing else to do besides that. That's coming from someone who grew up during this decade and some of the late 90's.
THIS WAS MY FAVORITE SONG OF THE SOUNDTRACK. THIS ONE HAS THAT JIMMY JAM AND TERRY LEWIS PRODUCTION IF THEY WAS PRODUCIN THIS. I CAN IMAGINE JANET JACKSON AND JOHNNY GILL DOIN THIS SONG TOGETHA. THATS JUST ME
It played at the end credits, did you noticed Casey Jones was in Let Me In, Gattaca, Bone Collector and more? whenever i see him in movies i say "Casey Jones!"
@Johnlindsey289 ur talkin bout that part where casey got the kiss from april while the turtles cheered em on best song to add to ending movie kiss man im glad 2 be 27.
Fantastic jam, this is late 80s/early 90s jam, R&B and hip hop at it's best. Who else saw this movie in theaters as a kid? i did when i was 8 3 times and had this soundtrack on CD
Ahh man this brings back memories when i was small i used to watch the end credits just to hear this awesome song thnx for posting i no longer feel alone : ) i give it a "9.95" lol
My brothers all took karate when we were kids. we watched this movie sooooo many times together. agree, the 90's had better overall quality: movies, t.v. show's, music in all genre's, even FOOD!
damn this song i luv this song, ooo man remember those fuckin 90s ooo those was dayz, i cry every single time i hear this song, our era was better on ever thing, music, video game, cartoons style, ONE MORE THING TV SHOW WAS BETTER THEN TOO, and still keepin it G FUNK
I used to have this tape. I played it so much it ruined it. I actually thought about trying to order it on disc. I remember seeing this movie about a zillion times at the theatre and I actually think I have a VHS version of the movie somewhere.
20 years, where did the time go. I had this soundtrack on tape and I remember listining to it nonstop in my walkman. I still have a big box of tapes back in the basement of my parents house, I bet it's in there.
I still think you could put this song at the end of ANY movie.

As someone born in 1993 and growing up with the 2003 cartoon, I REALLY want to go the 1980's/90's :(
Everything just seemed more chill and mellow. Unlike today's stressful and rambunctious times.
