I have it on good authority, as in my parents were unfortunate enough to live throughout the eras when this was sung, that the chestnut tree bit is the wrong-way round here. Apparently it goes, "Chest" hands on the chest, "Nut" hands on the head, "Tree" hands to the top and out like a tree.
