As far as the animals go...well. They were in the jungle in the middle of nowhere. Those animals were killed and eaten. They didn't waste anything. So if anyone compains about this, they should also complain about Apocolypse Now and the water buffalo.

I think Cannibal Holocaust should be watched with an open mind and understand the meaning of it all. The message is pretty much spelled out for you in the movie. It's a comment on culture and media. It's easy to dismiss something because of it's content and ignore the substance behind it all.

As far as the Cannibals....Deodatto actually shot with a real cannibal tribe in new guinea. So....
