i got confused with it cuz when u get a 0, 1 or -1 from the card count what you have to do to know what kind of card is gonna be a +, a - or a 0 card?

@soundsfromthestreet The entire deck does not have to be dealt because when alot of high cards come out, even at the beginning of a deck, you probabability of getting high cards is great great. Kind of like having a jar full of red and blue marbles but there are more reds then blues. But the better the deck penetration, the better for the player, because you can see more cards.

ok so i dont understand? how do you sit down at the table and know what the count is? also i live in cincinnati and go to hollywood casino and they use like 4 or 5 decks at a time how do you do that?
@michaelburnett1 Theres many different methods but the simplest is, sit at a table at the beggining of the chute. Play minimum and count as the game progresses, when the true count gets good bet more, and modify your basic strategy with the count. Whether they use 1 deck or 8 the methods the same. Though if its one deck you might as well keep track of every card, rather then using this system. Any good spades player should be able to manage that. Why you don't see 1 deck almost at all.
People must understand that playing basic stradigy is important. HOWEVER if you are playing with someone who does not play correctly then everyone will lose. NEVER, NEVER come in on a table in mid shoe. You will lose your buy in money before the shoe is over.

@PCDTSME Well after a hand is over the cards just used are placed back into the shuffler to be mixed with the other cards in the shoe. Then a sort of elevator is used where the card are placed randomly in 19 shelves. Then the shulfler selects randomly 1 of these 19 shelves to dilver into the shoe. It is a non linear process and the card that were already played can be played again. If there is a way to beat these continuous shuffling machines I would be glad to hear it. Peace.
@ricyorb your absolutely right, but that does depend on the machine. there are two types, ones that just shuffle the cards together and ones that go through the process you just mentioned (cant remember the abbreviations). in the case of the later you can still use the blackjack betting trigger which is probably better than actually counting cards since its easier to apply and can raise your advantage over the house around 7-9%.
what's with the holes in the cards? and would it make sence to have face cards +1 rather than -1?, and doing what ur doing will that "make" you able to count cards faster, or would going to casino's do that faster, or are they just the same or is it dependant on the person learning, i am an amiture at counting cards i can count cards but its tracking thats a little difficult, at times...

yes, the cards have holes in them because I bought them from the casino gift shops. casinos usually resell card decks at their gift shops, but then either mark them, cut the corners, or make a distinct mark on the sides of the decks so people cannot cheat and try use the cards at the tables. I buy casino cards because they are cheaper, at least at my local casinos they are $0.50 per deck. It is a good bargain, wouldn't you say?

most use 6 decks. a true card count at the end of a deck is 0 so it doesnt matter if its 100 decks being used. you bet the table min and play basic strategy till they change out the decks and you can start a fresh count
okay, makes sense...if its just you and the dealer. But lets say theres 5 of you at the table and you're dealt last. By the time your bet is up and you're dealt, the true count could have changed drastically! So I dont get how it helps unless maybe you're dealt first...

Diveous you will never win cos you suck! it doesnt matter how many decks the table is using, you calculate by using a true count, of course u need to have a good judgment on the amount of decks being played. If at the end of a running count you have say +6, and the casino is using 4 decks to play, but u can judge that 2 of the decks have been played, u divide your +6 by the 2 decks out giving you a true count of +3. you should increase your bets on anything higher than +2.

Diablo, this system is actually proven and tested to work. The only flaw is that its works best when there are fewer people playing at a table. If its a 1 vs 1, dealer loses big time. If there are more then 4 people, I suggest moving to another table.

With good memory and a lot of practice. Google "blackjack true count."
Basically, you get the "running count" and divide it by the number of decks left (If about 4 decks seem to be left and the running count is +8, then the "true count" will be +2).
Usually when the "true count" is +2 or greater, it is a good time to raise your bets.
All of these videos tell you how to count cards using HiLo or a true count, however you are never told how to use this information. How to bet when the card count is negative, positive or neutral seems to be crucial information and yet it's missing in every one of these types of videos. As much as I hate to use a movie reference, in "21" it appeared that the higher the positive count, the better. Is that accurate?
As I understand it, the only thing it helps you with is how good the odds are that you'll get a high card. e.g. if you have a +10 there's a fairly high chance that a high card is coming up, thus making your dessision wether to hit or stand easier.
This also means that you can really only use this when the dealer is half way through the deck or so.
card counting is just another TOOL that you use when you are at a casino. you need to b a money manager also. Card counting WILL give you the edge in the long run, that said it dosent mean you are always gonna win. I also like to keep track of ace's and 5's left in a deck. i may miss one or so but it give you a better idea of what to expect.

Boru, if the count is at 0, it could be any card. Even if the count is high or low, there is still a chance to get the card you wanted or the card you didn't want. Counting just helps you get an edge. If this game was -truly- beatable, the casinos would imput more rules that would give an edge to the house's advantage.

Card counting no longer works in the real world casino. It assumes random cards which is a fallacy read more about it

lol 2-6 equal +1 and face are -1 lol and all casions cards have holes in them every card he got thows cards from a casino. 8-10 are pretty much invisable. just scan over them its not hard once you get ahold of it. you just have to act normal at the table.

Diablo, this system is actually proven and tested to work. The only flaw is that its works best when there are fewer people playing at a table. If its a 1 vs 1, dealer loses big time. If there are more then 4 people, I suggest moving to another table.

With good memory and a lot of practice. Google "blackjack true count."
Basically, you get the "running count" and divide it by the number of decks left (If about 4 decks seem to be left and the running count is +8, then the "true count" will be +2).
Usually when the "true count" is +2 or greater, it is a good time to raise your bets.

All of these videos tell you how to count cards using HiLo or a true count, however you are never told how to use this information. How to bet when the card count is negative, positive or neutral seems to be crucial information and yet it's missing in every one of these types of videos. As much as I hate to use a movie reference, in "21" it appeared that the higher the positive count, the better. Is that accurate?

As I understand it, the only thing it helps you with is how good the odds are that you'll get a high card. e.g. if you have a +10 there's a fairly high chance that a high card is coming up, thus making your dessision wether to hit or stand easier.
This also means that you can really only use this when the dealer is half way through the deck or so.

card counting is just another TOOL that you use when you are at a casino. you need to b a money manager also. Card counting WILL give you the edge in the long run, that said it dosent mean you are always gonna win. I also like to keep track of ace's and 5's left in a deck. i may miss one or so but it give you a better idea of what to expect.

all the cards have holes in them as they are former casino decks, they do that to stop cheats using old decks.

Boru, if the count is at 0, it could be any card. Even if the count is high or low, there is still a chance to get the card you wanted or the card you didn't want. Counting just helps you get an edge. If this game was -truly- beatable, the casinos would imput more rules that would give an edge to the house's advantage.

From casinos, the cards are perforated before they sell the card to customers. That's a golden rule.
That ensures that the buyers don't use the bought cards to be used to cheat at the blackjack table.
And him getting rich from this is real.. I read it in a book called 21:Bringing down the house
