  • it's a great song!!!!

  • HAPPY MOTHER'S DAAAAY!

  • The very first Rpg that I'm attracted to..

  • I'm brazilian, and I learned Ninjutsu with Frank.

  • they should make a guitar hero using video game music, it would be so epic to play this song!

  • Battles are epic in this game... It and the music are both ruined when Johnny or anyone else goes mental!

Why would they willingly add such an annoying flaw to an otherwise awesome battle system?!

  • @legendaryhero123 Because they can. Seems like they do that with a lot of stuff.

  • Whats the ost for when you fight the the spirits???

  • Mao <3 <3 <3

  • DON'T MESS WITH NEW YORKERS.

  • SCORE 1 FOR FRANK.

  • @Proverbs31intraining Sorry i didnt write that!

  • (8) HAPPY MOTHERSS DAAAYY (8)

  • Woohoooo~

I started a new game of this yesterday, the music is just as kickass as I remember it in the game... >:]

  • I think this was the best "regular" battle theme for Shadow Hearts, it flows emotion... gets you seriously pumped every fight.

I haven't had much of a chance to play this lately, I played it a while ago and got about halfway through, maybe 3/4... not really sure how far but every time this theme played it made me wanna kick some serious ass.

Only thing I didn't really like was how fusion had changed, instead becoming a pact with natural spirits? Made a lot more sense but meh. :P

  • @YinYang19 i agree with u on the music. when i hear it, its like saying "let the ass kicking begin" lol. That and the music gets me in the perfect mood to draw some badass pictures as well. I only wish that the company that made the game came out with another shadow hearts for the ps3 with music thats just as badass.

  • @YinYang19 Well keep in mind that Shania isn't actually a harmonixer like Yuri is so it actually made sense for it to be different. Wasn't Yuri supposed to be the last remaining harmonixer anyway. I think I heard that somwhere. Anyway I agree with you 1000% on the music Shadow hearts 3 had the best music of the series in my opinion, though Covenant had the single best track in the series. Amon's battle theme

  • @VergilownsDante

Well I dunno if she isn't a harmonixer or not, cause I thought that only harmonixer's could use the art of "Fusion", this is what kind of confused me about the game... she MUST be a harmonixer if she can use that art, right?

I thought that maybe Shania's tribe are descendants of the same clan or something like that, either way it's not really important, the music is what's the subject here, and it rocks!

  • @YinYang19 I know this is hell of late, and I'm very sorry. But, during Covenant, Rasputin and Nicolai both state that Soul Fusion isn't only practiced by the Harmonixers, as they both made soul pacts with demons that allowed them to fuse. It was somewhat different, but if you consider that Shania comes from the Native American society- which practiced various forms of shamanic 'spirit animal' rituals where people would become on with their totem in a trance-like state- cont.

  • @YinYang19 -cont- it stands to reason that other cultures, particularly those who practiced those forms of spiritual medium rituals, would have access to similar abilities. With Yuri and Kurando, it was more a sort of Shinto/Taoist-esque practice. Sorry again, just thought that might explain it in case you still wondered or if anyone else had a similar question and happened by here.

  • I like how none of the party members would look like they take the leadership role. no sarcasm intended.

  • this game is damn awesome... i wish i had my ps2 with me to play it as well as my smt games lol

  • It's funny that the composer for Shadow Hearts used to be the sound effects for Squaresoft...no wonder he left when they became square-enix. lol.

  • This music is seriously better than Vicious from Covenant.

  • @faytlengod I disagree, but this music is still awesome

  • the best battle theme! better than some themes of FF!!

  • Love the laughing in the beginning

  • I mean seriously how badass would it be if a shadowhearts game was put onto the ps3... the graphics would be awsome and so would the music. In fact all the shadowhearts music was badass when they came out with their games... now here's hoping that the creators gave it some thought to put it one the system...

  • @pittlenutz I believe they broke up after making this game..

  • @Jargennorth Disbanded huh? well dammit doesn't that just suck lol. It would be nice to see one more game from them put on the ps3 though

  • @Jargennorth Who xSeed? They most definitely did not.

  • I always thought it would be badass if the creators of shadow hearts would make an other and put it on the PS3 system and put awsome music in it as well

  • God, I love this song :D

  • "She's watching us, she will see me."

  • i seriously love the shadow hearts games, wish there were more of them for PS2

  • i get in a battle all the time just to listen to this song while kicking some ass

  • I always thought the lady in this track was saying: "Me van a ver" They will see me. lol

  • @MonkeyDaDragon

    Loool!

    It's true.

Oh shit! "Nos está viendo!" (She's watching us!)

  • @MonkeyDaDragon One of my friends thaught she says "chop lock yea!"

  • Such a good game. I have a Shadow Hearts two fanfic going in secret. This game series was incredible

  • combos in this game was the best in this game

  • i love this song, but want to know if there is one with higher quiality around?

  • Wa wa wa wa wahh

  • WHY?? WHY?? WHY WONT THEY MAKE ANOTHA SHADOW HEARTS! itz fukin bs! da first two are legendary! and there music remains on point....but this third one....AGH! come on midway! and whoever else helped produce the third shadow hearts!

  • @TrayzBoy It's still a fucking amazing. Seriously people stop talking crap about this game, we get that it's not as good as the others but it's still one of the best rpgs out there. As long as you don't compare it to the rest of the series and keep an open mind for it's weirdness you'll love it. Oh and stop whining over there being no Yuri, he's gone through enough and it ended perfectly. Let the man rest in peace.

  • @axel5735 your telling the wrong person this buddy. i love shadow hearts with a passion, and i wish they did better on this though. its still unique, and thats all i can really ask for. so nobodies fuking whining. its just simple reminiscing on good memories. everybody is entitled to a opinion. whether you agree with or not. so leave you responses parallel from mine. you didnt create the game. nor did i. so leave it at that. because this is simply my opinion.

  • @TrayzBoy I'm just saying cause your first comment makes you look like a troller and you made it seem like you hate the game. I'm just saying it's still an amazing game that people need to stop bringing down.

  • @axel5735 I can see where your coming from though. since you love the game as much as i do. this was actually the very FIRST rpg i've ever played. and i've been hooked on it since. from the originality and darkness of the first one, to the sadness and despair of covenant, and than the thrid ones uniqueness. i've definitely felt something i couldnt feel in final fantasy than if i would play shadow hearts. its like light and darkness. its just ff is too big now. and this deserves more.

  • @TrayzBoy True dat... In honor of the Shadow Hearts series I'm making my very own Shadow Hearts fan fiction set in WWII and involving the whole Will and Malice setup in the series... So far from what I have set up in the storyline it will go through, Poland, Croatia, Morocco, Marquesas islands, and Idaho... More spots will be added as I finish the plot but it will involve just about every corner of the earth. The research is being a real pain though... Really excited to get started. =]

  • @axel5735 Its one thing to be able to "start" something. this where you must draw the line. you either just start it for kicks. or never finish it in the long run. dont procrastinate. i want to make a game similar in dark tone to this. and its going to take long term perseverance and determination. so just saying, dont start something and dont finish. thats just something i learned from living.

  • @TrayzBoy I definitely will finish this once I get the story all set up but just in case you don't know what a fan fiction is, it's writing not actual game designing... Sadly I don't have the skill or equipment to make an actual spin-off... V_V You could come check it out once I get started on it but of course it's perfectly fine if you don't want to. =]

  • who composed this?

  • @Smarty4789 Yoshitaka Hirota

  • @Smarty4789 Yoshitaka Hirota

  • Theres just one thing I don't like at this soundtrack...

It's not loud enough in the game!

  • screw johnny i like yuri better he's the best SH character

  • Ricardo has my vote for best JRPG hero of all time.

  • @FlameAdder

I'd rather vote him as the most badass motherfucking spoony bard ever. He's a really rare breed.

  • This isn't Twitter, dude.

  • The commenting system quoted your username automatically, I don't know why...

  • Oh cool, another reason to hate YouTube.

  • This theme just reminds me that my copy is bad and doesn't even load the first battle in the game. I need to find a new one, then I'll have all three.

  • GREAT game. Story isnt that solid, but just how bizarre and unique it is makes it worth reading. Battle system is GREAT, even though dungeon monsters get repetitive from how few kinds there are. Music ranges from amazing to 'meh' ....this particular track is a love it or hate it type....and i love it XD

  • Despite the not so great storyline for FTNW, the battle system is so incredible that it alone is worth playing this game through for.

  • I thought the storyline was great but just not paced well... The beginning of the game didn't really fee like SH. It's an awesome game. I'm on my 3rd playthrough!

  • @sabercat43 Storyline is not very SOLID but it is good I must say. At least to me. But I agree - the battles and overall gameplay in this game just simply ROCK

  • @zeonmystic well then considering that Covenant's gameplay and battle system are practically identical, i guess you would orgasm every second of it, because this game quite simply sucked in comparison >.<

  • @GrenMoyo You can slap me with a brick or something but I didn't like Covenant for some things. Especially for double combo and character placings in battle.

  • @zeonmystic That bothered me too about Covenant, but the thing that was an absolute killer for me was a little, mostly irrelevant aspect of the story, that being *SPOILER* the fact that it follows the bad ending of Shadow Hearts, the one where Alice dies. Alice was easily my favorite character in Shadow Hearts, and after learning that her dying was canon, I just couldn't bring myself to continue playing.

  • @immortalfrieza

It's worth it, Considering Covenant good ending

Plus, it makes many parts in the game more emotional

  • @GrenMoyo This would be true if From the New World's gameplay wasn't ten times better and more difficult than Covenant's.

  • There rare, but you can find it rather easily if you actually try. They have em at gamestop sheep ranging from $15-$19

  • Shadow hearts 1 was the best of the SH series

  • is there a third shadow hearts?? ive just bought the second. how many are they?

  • dude.....

    you MUST play this game

    best RPG in PS2 !!!!

  • Technically there are four.

Koudelka - PS1 - (A spiritual successor to the Shadow Hearts series.) Worth a download, but age has taken its toll.

    Shadow Hearts - PS2

    Shadow Hearts: Covenant - PS2

Shadow Hearts: From The New World - PS2

Out of these, I only own FTNW. I'm going to try and find the other two SH games cheap, as I've already got Koudelka on a PS1 emulator.

    Hope this helps. :D

  • Wait, Kouldelka is the prequel to shadow hearts? Awesome game but i did not know that lol

  • Yes. If you play the first Shadow Hearts - you even meet Koudelka and her son Halley joins you as a playable character. You know much about what happened after Koudelka game in the storyline

  • Cool

  • @AlbelUnlimited You mean that Koudelka is the predeccessor to Shadow hearts, and it is more than just spiritual, a lot of characters and the mansion return in Shadow hearts.

  • Comment removed

  • 3 altogether with Covenant being the second and From The New World being the 3rd

  • Hiro: No, that started with the original. There's always been a slightly silly humour to the series. FTNW took it way too far and removed almost all the serious elements that made the original two great.

  • @Swmystery But it has better music than Covenant, and the best battle system in a jRPG.

  • @ZephyrFate About the music part, is somewhat unfair to compare SH2 to 3, since the moods are completely different.. is like comparing a serenade to a bollero

  • @Lumhe SH2's music is pretty dull, and I can definitely compare them because they have the same composer.

  • This song is my fav after [moon shine] . there isnt any news of shadow hearts in the ps3 OR xpox 360 ....... can anyone answer me ?

  • The company that made these games, I believe...no longer exists.

  • Is that so ....... Will thats too bad .

  • Also, the company that owns the series, Aruze, hasn't shown any interest in continuing the series. I think they're just going to let it die, which is pretty sad.

  • wow thats sad

  • this is some good battle music

  • I made up lyrics to this song! I made the song even creepier with them! Here they are

    -intro-

    I cannot die...

This world is not as it seems

    This world is dead inside

This world is filled with demons

    We are to blame

    We must fight our demons

    If we are to survive

  • Um........Ok dude gr8 job......

  • man this game had a really great gameplay even the battle theme were good

  • I've played both but the first. Covenant's story was better, but From The New World had great gameplay.

  • I like how everyone blames FTNW for making the series a little silly, have they not played Covenant? It started the whole silly fad. Despite FTNW killing the series, it's still my favorite <3

  • Ah brings up some good memories.

  • Super fight music i like it,and the game too....

  • Dead fingers talk, that's quality right there.

  • the battle theme is the best thing about this game, i think.

it really makes you miss playing the first two...

  • this is so awesome. Really creepy. best music

  • I know this probably the wrong place to ask but how do you open the area in shadow hearts 2 where Geppetto' s final weapon is .

  • Solve the doll house puzzle and beat the boss there. If you're having problems, go to gamefaqs to help you out.

  • you must go to the yokohama streets and ask one of those people there, one will talk about the dollhouse where you can find gepettos weapon

  • i finally bought a copy yeah no more renting yayyy!!!!!!

  • semi-rare. It's a little hard to find

  • this battle theme was great

nothin suits beatin down monsters like rhythm and beat

    LOL

  • I don't see why so many people hat this one, I mean, you can't get much better than a drunken, oversized cat, can you? XD

  • Or a super sexy and hot indian woman with hot protecter can you too?

  • I like the second game's songs better.

  • i first played this two or three years ago and played the first level that theme and the opera music (which is some of favorite music now ) really freaked me a little and it did not help that everyone in houses was asleep when the malice monster this was the first Shadow hearts i played and 2nd favorite covenant rules

  • i've only played the 1st and 3 games but out of the battle themes, i only like this song..and the 1st battle song from the 1st game

  • I found it at Movie Gallery. It's bound to show up somewhere, don't worry. I really like this game, despite part of its plot line...

  • I really loved this battle theme!

  • OMG Lenariet, i can't find it too xD

I think it's better than this song

when u hear it u get the feeling...

''Im going to beat the crap out of these demons!''

it's really cool, and epic, and south american^^

  • And "Bythos" is superb too, just to mention it.

  • i was lucky enough to find this at a blockbuster

i dont think its as rare as tales of the abyss though

  • I just love this battle theme! I could listen to it all the time. My #1

  • Could anyone upload the second main battle theme from this game, the one that exchanges with this one when you are around South America? I keep looking for it, but I can't find it here.

  • I love the intro.

  • man i shoulda rented this in stead of kh2 :(

  • both are good games. Buy both!

  • Second favorite battle theme song. Second only to Latter to Heaven

This game really is amazing though and a lot of fun for the price

  • this is awsome one of the reasons I got this game^^

  • 戦闘で忙しくてゆっくり聴いてる暇ないんだよね。聴けてよかった!ありがとうございます!!

  • When a battle starts u simply can wait before you choose a command =D

So u can listen to the music first xD

  • Is a Kouldelka walkthrough on YouTube yet.

  • One of my favorite battle themes. This is one of the reasons I really liked this game.

  • Shadow Hearts 3 opened up so promising. So much stuff started to go downhill by the time you got to South America.

Oh well its a pretty great game, just a few steps back from SHC in a few areas.

  • One of my favorite normal battle themes, as well as being my favorite in the series. Second best probably being "Deep in Coma - Battle in Japan" or "nde - Near Death Experience"

  • I love this theme. My only complaint is that they switch it halfway through for one that's more "tribal" instead of "eerie".

  • This theme is so awesome....

  • i hate the battle theme from shadow hearts 2

  • Deep in Coma(Japan theme) wasn't that bad

  • this is freaky

is this the normal battle theme?

its really different from other RPGs

  • Yeah, it's the normal battle theme.

  • It's a good pick, in my opinion, as well.

  • you want to hear really different, listen to the music from the 1st and 2nd Shadow Hearts. The series gets more light-hearted as the games go on, which is why many people prefer the first Shadow Hearts.

  • The berserk'd version is even creepier

  • I always wanted to play this game ever since I saw a gameplay clip with that cat roundhouse kicking something.

  • It's a drunken cat doing Drunk-fu!

  • Oh, I remember this.

I got up to Macchu Pichu where you have to do something with colour orbs (when I rented it).

  • yeah that part was quite annoying, when u had to switch the eye colors to open respective doors.

  • That puzile is intresting but it has taken me only 10 minutes to get it done. It wasin't that annoying.

  • At some point in time, could you post a vid of the music that you hear (Beyond the Gate) from Shadow Hearts 3, SupraDarky?

  • This battle theme is one of the best. Even the random encounters would get on my nerves sometimes, the music never got old.

It's way better than the South America battle theme.

  • Agreed, the South American battle theme was really grating after one battle. This song takes me back to the first Shadow Hearts

  • Each game in the series (except the 1st one) had cool battle themes. This is one of the better ones.

  • I dont think so, the first Shadow Hearts Battle Theme is great, Dead Fingers Talk isnt bad at all, but it cant beat Brain Hopper and Near Death Experience from the first SH.

... as for me, I dont like the Battle Themes from the second Shadow Hearts.

  • Great game!

  • :3 good one

  • Yeah it's a great battle theme. :)
