dark pine desoltated forest are the best bonus at night or foggy on a snowy cold windy wintery night hails to satan and all black metal fans out there stay dark evil and powerful=]
@herpesthemusical That still is not a valid reason. Why do they? IMO it is a little weird. I imagine listening to this artist while walking in the woods would be a fun experience, though. I just want to know WHY they always talk about it in the lyrics.
@19Labrie63 I wouldn't say it is inherently connected to it. The bands what play black metal choose to talk about paganism and Satanism in their lyrics, usually for the sake of maintaining a certain image or aesthetic.
@superchef78 well,if one focuses more on the idea of the aesthetics of it and not the "image" bands want to uphold, then they could see my point of view. But Satanism was the conceptual theme before that, as well as misanthropy and nihilism, although nowadays satanism is becoming less prevalent towards it. So I guess your right in some sense, nihilism and misanthropy are more inherent.
@henriboy84 - I would say all are good (as I bought them all, even 2 rare cd's from sin-nanna himself). But overall I think Solitude is probably the strongest album.

Fact: Every Striborg song is a cover of Eve White/Eve Black by Siouxsie and the Banshees.

@superchef78 It's just a theme of the music; forests, darkness, winter.. etc. to give that depressive atmosphere I suppose.
herpesthemusical 1 year ago
@superchef78 Black metal is inherently connected to paganism, which holds many aesthetics for nature and the reverence of it.
