  • We rightly cherish this man.

  • Getting a difficult concept across well in full, flowing, continuous sentences without prior preparation is exactly what I call good speaking.

  • math is fun!

  • @lazychimp123 Just like mushrooms!

  • I miss the spark of life in this people-they are somewhere on the autistic spectrum I guess.Extremely smart-but chilly like a moutainpeak.

  • Ed Wittens is actually Tom Dwans father.

  • Such a smart guy, remarkably humble.

  • The interviewer knows crap about what Ed is talking about. Its like watching a person teach Spanish to a toaster.

  • @camelCaseFTW No one knows what Witten is talking about - guy's like the smartest dude on the planet. ;)

  • @houseofcantor Untrue. Many physicists know what he is talking about. The key difference between Ed and his peers is that Ed is more CREATIVE and energetic.

  • @myrtlebox I had to giggle at the "energetic" part of your description.

  • @mokopa Yeah, after a re-read it sounds like it loses steam in the energy dept. ;-O Im not even sure what my point was Prolly a drink-n-post session ;-)

  • close your eyes and it sounds like napolean dynamite...... " oh my gosh... where is the higgs particle".... just busting... smartest dude ever

  • Physics is in a shitty situation at the moment, every body is confused! over 90% of the universe is missing and the best they can do is to put a label on it. All hope now rests on the LHC, which is certainly not going to produce the Higgs particle. Gravity is still not well understood, and no one has a clue about what happened before the big bang. 10 years ago you dare not even ask what happened before the big bang. So whats going on physicists? maybe a new approach? here is a hint, The Matrix

  • What get's me is that if one talks to a religious person, you quickly find out that who you are talking to is very delusional, but when one speaks to a Scientist you get ' Inteluctual Honesty',its like we live in two differant worlds. WTF

  • 3+ physicists are working on loop quantum gravity.

  • Ed Witten is the real Sheldon.

Without any doubt. This is the way Sheldon would be in the real world.

    Just cool.

  • haha the interviewer at 3:15 must of felt shot down.

  • @chavman056 haha yeah i know

  • when an object receives heat, entropy increases more than the entropy increase in the object that provides the heat. That much I figured it out using pure math. It all has to do with the Carnot cycle.

  • I think I know how the big bang happened...a guy sat at the desk watching sixty symbols on Youtube...suddenly he wanted toknow what string theory was, so he clicked along (^.-) and watched a 10part series on string (+M) thory, then he watched another then 5-10 videos on what dimensions are, and suddenly hes brain (brane) exploded...wait a second...thats what I d.....BOOOOM!!!!

  • Wow! What a humble man. When asked about the unification of the five string theories, Ed didn't even hint at the fact that it was HIM that did it! Ed Witten is considered by many to be the greatest physicist of our day or even perhaps in history.

  • 'That's great as long as you're having fun.' 'Don't worry about that one' :D

  • Physics is amazing, the most exciting thing you can do, people who hate physics are dumb, you can never understand the science of electronics, wireless telecom, GPS, etc without relativity and basic physics. I recently learnt that the reason RF radiation fades at 1/r^2 (inverse square law), as do other forces is because our world has 3 dimensions. The universal law states 1/r^(D-1). in a 7 dimension world, all these equations would follow 1/r^6. They don't explain it at highschool

  • Where was he when i needed help with my math homework?

  • 2:42 aint that the most intelligent looking frown you've ever seen.

  • the host seems totally oblivious to any scientific fact!!

  • @yanniscan lol Ira has been a science journo n writer for decades n has multiple awards so I think he knows a little bit ;)

  • He is so intelligent, and yet so humble. We need more people like him in this world.

  • If Ed isn't the smartest person in the world then he's very close. However String theory could still be wrong. Even if it's found to be wrong it could still lead to other ideas. How can a person even come up with this stuff anyways? It's amazing.

  • this witten dude has neurons in his chin... he has to.... he is just oozing intelligence...

  • wish more of us took the time to watch educational videos like these. not only would we learn more, but i think we would be and act differently as a whole. we would tolerate each other a bit more.

  • sick. just sick. this man single-handedly gives me a gratifying glimmer of hope for the future of man-kind. pure, serene, non-egotistical, ground-breaking, driving inteligence. bless his soul.

  • What is the frequency of vibration of the strings? If it is the speed of light then they create mass according to E=mc^2?

How many strings are there in a photon? Do they move in space or they just propagate their properties to other strings (as the sound does in air)?

  • What does he say in his last answer? May someone write it?

    Thanks.

  • @druzios

I presume he said, he had better ideas in his 30s,40s than in his 20s.

  • I could listen to this man sing his mathematical melodies all day. True example of "A Beautiful Mind."

    Brilliant

  • All the smartest men in the world are White it seems. White people can reach great heights if they study a lot. I'd say the smartest is still Einstein 'cause he split the atom, followed by Ed Witten, Teslar, Newton, Galileo, Perelman (solved the millenium puzzle) Hawkings, Keplar, Steve Jobs =D

  • @Asiats1

"I'd say the smartest is still Einstein 'cause he split the atom"

Eisenstein, as well as this guy, is a Jew. white nationalist like yourself aren't supposed to like jews.

so not are you a racist, you suck at it.

If blacks happened to have evolved in the mountains like the Europeanized did, the world would be different.

  • A hero among men, and an inspiration to all. Onwards, science!

  • I sometimes wish youtube didn't allow comments, while some of the videos are highly inspirational, fascinating and humbling to watch, the comments all too often, if not on EVERY video even remotely linked to science, are as depressing and boring as they possibly could be.

PS I obviously don't mean everyone who comments, but I'm sure you get my drift.

  • it actually really adversely affects my enjoyment of interviews such as this. I probably should not read them, but I can't help it.

  • @camshanks Your post has been reported for containing dangerous amounts of win.

  • I'm wearing glasses and a wool sweater. I have a theory that air is actually water that is combustable through sheer magnitude of speed, endurance and a point blank radius of 3 over 4 sub atomic particles based upon Anton Rodin's theory of light from grounded partisons which coordinate spontaniously through sheer force of will which will ignite normally unused brain cells in the back of our unconscius minds which will in turn, make humns evolve in, thats right. . .crab people, yessir crab people

  • Ed is a brilliant individual. Thumbs up!!

  • "Yeah I'm only a badass mathematician/physicist because I'm good at it."

  • 5:51 - who you're gonna call?

  • i LIKE him

  • does he ever move?

  • "the last step in and of its self wasn't any more difficult or remarkable than 10,000 step before it" humbling fact in science.

  • What if the "Big Bang" was nothing more than silent-but-deadly dog fart? Discuss.

  • @CircaCertainty By GOD

  • Greatest physicist alive today. No doubt about that. Perhaps Einstein's successor.

  • @TrueDiligence you nicked that quite from the string theory/M-theory video's on youtube!!! 'tis true though :)

  • @TrueDiligence

He has ther highest h-index of any living physicist today. h-index of 144 !!!

  • @TrueDiligence I think he kinda exceed Enistein ... simply beacause Einstein worked till he died to put togeter a unified fields theory and he didnt had any any kind of succses ... as in NOTHING, not even a simple ideea ... while this guy came up with this M theory (he was not one of the authors - he was the ONLY aouthor) ... while other physicists came oup with part`s of the "elephant" he came up with the whole "elephant". So... ye, he is kinda - the smartest guy in existence

  • @sudhirmitra your not so inteligent yourself if you think this man is stupid. string theory was first discovered well before he started even learning physics.

  • @sudhirmitra uummmmm are you the most intellectually and cognitivly gifted human being to grace this planet in the present day?? of course your not because only two people can lay claim to that. Tao and Witten. not you

  • Thanks for sharing !

  • cool interview

  • This guy should have starred in the original Matrix film. Fuck Neo.

  • @juggep80 He would make a much better villain character. Ever notice how all the super villains are always smarter than everyone else in the movie?

  • @juggep80 He's not fond of science fiction.

  • Also, I type him as INTP.

  • why don't you discuss the structures on these satellites such as moons and other planets...

instead of a big dark string

  • no impatience, just curiosity is what matters

  • He's very good at mathematics, Einstein wasn't good at all, he learned just enough but he used it to the maximum.

  • wasn't good at all? hah how ironic

  • @deepsinK He was very imaginative, was clever, but his math papers run 50 pages long, mathematicians were able to rewrite these 50 pages into half a page, and like Einstein said, 'imagination is more important than knowlegde'

  • @VERGIS92 That's really just a testament to him being more focused on other things, such as physics. I can imagine mathematicians would be able to shorten pages b.c. that's their forte but that doesn't mean he isn't good at math. If Einstein wanted to major in it, he could have easily learned how to simplify things, but indeed his imagination was more important.

  • sweat jew

  • he's living my dream right now cant wat till im out of highshcool

  • listen to your ad hominems, this guys a genius. people with brains can see that as endearing. i'd take awkward speech if i could do physics like Witten.

  • i find his manner of speaking very charismatic actually

  • i hope that many more people like mr.witten and hawking comes along. we really need those great minds to further our understanding of our universe, or multivers for that matter.

  • @yggon I don't think tone is the reason we can't understand his words.

  • @cyber6sapien I understand him just fine. He is humble, and intelligent. I think he's a good speaker.

  • @OspacemarineO i agree he is very humble

  • @OspacemarineO

Sorry?Though what he says is undeniably interesting,he's not a good speaker as he seems unable to control his talking speed and doesn't really vary his intonation.Furthermore his hard card face gives a strange contrast to his unusually high voice. Not that it's of importance as to the content of his words, still it's wrong to say he's an efficient speaker.Of course, the host comes of as a total idiot-but somehow a viewer can identify with him still, which produces strong contrast.

  • @OspacemarineO He's not perfect, he is a history major.

  • we ?

    you !

    cheers :D

  • I havent seen a long time a video on YT, that inspires so much thought from a person, than this to be honest, quite dull interwiev with Witten.

  • this guy studied linguistics? he sure makes a lot of weird grammatical errors. like he don't talk so good like. like he don't got the woyds always.

  • @dougerber Wow.

  • his grammar is practically perfect. although, i take it you speak in perfect, precise sentences when you are describing physics, so it's not a big deal.

  • i does indeed talk good. real good. the best. and while we're on the subject of this guy's shortcomings i would like to also mention that this guy would definitely lose to quinton "rampage" jackson in a fight. if you think witten could beat rampage then you're a bigger fool than he is. SUCKED IN!

  • troll fail.

  • LOL! naw, witten would just mindfuck him and rampage would lose

  • there's something you don't know about witten...he was in the marines but was booted out for being too tough

  • Continue spotlighting your stupidity, nobody cares.

  • you obviously care. by highlighting my stupidity i guess i've inadvertently highlighted the fact that YOU ARE GAY FOR EDWARD WITTEN and can't stand the thought of rampage jackson beating him up. well it's going to happen whether you like it or not. rampage is going to beat that ass! you are gay and you care very much about my comments. you are also only mediocre at mathematics considering your level of interest.

  • @dougerber highlighting you doesn't mean I am interested in what you have to say which also makes you good at misinterpreting information. Troll onward, idiot.

  • ya the thing about that is i think that these guys work so much with textbooks and proper papers that their english becomes like their work. the language they speak isnt poluted by television or peopel who watch it. most of their interactions are with scholars and scientists. thats my guess.

  • Briann Greene says in his great book "The Fabric of the Cosmos" that his father taught him to see the world under many different perspectives. Later in his book, Greene says that the happiest thought of Einstein was the one who led to the equivalence principle and then thinking in terms acceleration which was easier than thinking in terms of gravity. Making use of Riemann geometry, the great genius of Einstein discovered - to my astonishment! - gravity as a curvature of spacetime.

  • please stop your insane rant

  • @mrqsilveira how are you doing !?

  • We could then think about the randomness of an intuition which surfaces and takes to the Gedankenexperiment leading Einstein to discover the spacetime curvature as an expression of the gravitational field. That's a 'waking up' posture facing nature wonders! Einstein was alert and could discard the misguiding ontological quality of the process - that is, its intrinsic randomness -, and focus solely on its embedded message. Einstein could exert the ethical freedom to think by himself!

  • What's up with the monologue? I've got a headache reading it. It's like reading a text generated with rand().

  • In metaphysical terms the link of the concept of emergence - which embodies energy of the vacuum, quantum fluctuation, chaos and complexety - and divine aleatory fluctuation of the nirvana, points straightforwardly to the misplaced dialogue betweeen Bhor and Einstein, while we focus the interplay of scientific frontiers. I mean, if strict causality fails just once than it fails forever!

  • From what is written below one deduces that superposition of quantum states is in the neighborhood of aleatory quantum fluctuation which kind of touches the mysterious hypothetical divine nirvana. This seems to be also in the neighborhood of spin superposition and supersymmetry which is known (to angels) to weave states of mind. So, all those arguments are qualitatively in the neighborhood of teleportation. It is a little fuzzy... though for just a while!

  • SEP (Existing X Acting) implies a mutation if taken living organisms. This is about vacuum, quantum fluctuation, chaos and complexity. SEP is correlated with the fluctuation of the fundamental state wherefrom any universe emerges. It is known that Einstein had a 'fixation" on strict causality. It fails here, since SEP points to a divinely aleatory fluctuation of the Nirvana state! Bohr acted correctly counteracting Einstein's authoritarian inhibition of God's eternal work!

  • suddenly...there is silence!

I think I am bringing back mrq to sanity!!

  • Suppose we stay quiet for a while... What would these kids invent to have a little fun? I will give them a hint to fill the gap with valuable info. Say something about the role of symmetries for quantum physics in particular and science in general presently, please, gentlemen.

  • Of course if you have a theory, you must be able to argumentate, prove and practicly aplie, it. When the arguments in the future might be good, it will, get more atention, and be tested- researched. It's to premature for the moment, and from this point of view I'm willing to listen to al reasonable options and arguments, and I don't mind if ideas sound a little bit way of , or radical. just like most scientists do.

We'll see if this bird will ever come in the bag... The debate is evolving......

  • what is super cimmitary does any1 no ?

  • I've been hearing to Goswami's baby-like request and my answer to him is the HyperConnected Space & the Existential Quantum equipped with SEP-SRP-SNP!

  • True physicists hate Goswami's metaphysical bla-bla traversed as science. That's correct because it tends to weaken what reveals the very core of potency in a physicist, which is the building up of the mathematical language where theory can be thoroughly translated. I like the metaphysics because it represents the scientific baby's transitional sacred moment. The tiny newborn wisdom is crying out cause it wants to be recognized! Buah! Buah!

  • The case here is not even about apparently unconnected phenomena. Taking the SPE-SPR-SPN, it is quite a simple problem of topology to show that species evolution must interface quantum physics and general relativity. And sure I would like to know what Ed Witten has to say about it! Though I am very content to listen to nvtls123 while Ed has more important things to do.

  • Sorry I dont want to disturb this stream of high quality thinking. I am not qualified for the level of discussions going on here.

I'll just sit and watch the greatest theory ever proposed unfolding on youtube.

  • LOL , The greatest theory ever ! unfolded on youtube ! You are realy the one who'se wearing those emperors cloths aren't you,

Hmmm... about two weeks ago I had this conversation about people who like to bash other people on youtube. Like they trye to use the commentpage as an emotional punching bag. You're one of them it seems to me (Me to But I'm not such a sarcast, and I try to keep it amusing). There are a lot of other channels who could help frustrated people , take a look. I'm sorry ...

  • The etien and silveira theory of the universe will make Einsteins equations obsolete. Forget about Witten.

This channel belongs to you guys.

    GO FOR IT.

  • Please tell me one more thing before I go for it. What do you prefer the humor or the science !?

At last one advise you prefered to listen.

In the Netherlands we say ;THE ART OF LISTENING = SHUTTING UP !

  • Yeah I lack the art of listening. What can I do. My excitement knows no bounds.

I prefer the science by the way. No humor. I am serious.

existential quantum is the way to go baby.

  • Lol . , I never spoke about existencial quantum by the way, My idea was purely about connecting some excisting models with some theoretical models and see what comes out of it... You don't have to be a serious scientist for that to have an idea...like that , do you _ and if someone has different ideas that mean no harm, it is , also for a scientist who's serious, polite to, let somebady speak, think, create, persept, feel, enjoy, have ideas, write the down listen , think it over etc, etc,

  • I only have an idea , that's been picked up by more and more people in the first month I've posted it. and currently is been thought over, critisized, discussed, disliked, by still a small but slowely increasing group of people. I live in a country that has a lot of knowledge and skills, inside. I don't have enough skills myself , but my enviroment helps. I'l just see what comes out of it. Maybe the real scientific debate will not be on youtube, seems more likely. but the debate has started....

  • And the second point I've made is not scientific but intuitive. ; It's no use, having, again, another theory or invention that has no reflection on our selfs. (with all respect, don't mis-interpretate me).

What we have are some beautilfull, simulations and models, of Henry marskram, Gearge Smoot, Edward witten, Garret Lisi, etc. etc.

These can be linked ., mathematicly, because they are congruent !

So you have the practical aplications, as well as the fundamental theorys. But no link...???

  • I think you are finally ready for a lunatic asylum. I have been waiting. I am sure your friend silveira would love to join you there.

  • He tell me does the bashing help already . do you feel any releif . you might try some prozac or oxazepam . Maybe rohipnol is better for a heavy case like you. and don't forget after two weeks no result. > visit dokter Phil man . Hope you can enjoy life again soon. So much frustration in a man, combined with this Mahler , ubermensch ego.... it's a shame.

No opinion only repeting the same bash act over and over again. nwhat does this say about ones personality.....

  • Nevertheless, remember , put on your Mahler music, take some prozac, inhale, wait 123 seconds, exhale, etc. etc. everyday a little bashing on youtube and guaranteed you'll will become a new person.

Me mr. silveira and many others feel sorry, for the neurotic state your in, and we only want to help you.

If you prefer I'll email, to bring you in contact with dr Phil, you can be one his show , so you can get an overflow of atention, and therapy.

  • Well well well. People who should be in a loony asylum do think that the whole world of normal people is sick. Their mind is highly twisted.

I understand and I am sympathetic.

How are you guys doing, mentally I mean.

You gotta be seriously sick to write absolute garbage for days. (oh sorry thats called the TOE?)

  • It's to allow you to blow of some steam. nothing more nothing less. and so you did to for days. you and I are nothing better than 'the world of normal people'. and in the normal world of people' people communicate more polite, than on youtube.

that's the only thing , I was trying to show.

  • YESSSSSSSS. Its working!!!

etein and mrq finally stopped talking .

    heeeeeyyyyyyyyyy hahahahaha hoooohooooohoooohoooohhoo.

I prevented a potentially cataclysmic theory of everything and existential quantum from destroying the intelligence of the human race !!!!

  • YESSSSS , finaly I see a happy man, ha ha ha, I'm very pleased you listned to my theoretical advice, about neurotic behavior,.As a real scientist you've practicly aplied my theory,

Keep on writing ha ha ha ha.

Indeed yessss it's working, I'm with my feet back on the ground and you're already starting to sound like a happy man after all. Ha ha ha.

Keep enjoing your self ! ha ha ha ha ha !

The neurotics prevention theory has evolved beyond, and faster than my silly TOE ha ha ha

  • Before I go: this last one - God thanks! - I really don't know what I am talking about. Bye...

  • There is something exciting about Riemann's Hypothesis of the Continuum... The gene locus as minimal paths... Geodesics...the roots of the zeta functions... Non-Commutable geometries...Bertollucci's The Dreamers.... Jailed quarks and gravitons...Uncertainty principle...Supersymmetry! It is time to go to bed and relax...

  • Oh man take it easy now. I think you have thought too much for today. Ideas are pouring out like a water fountain.

get some sleep. I think you deserve some rest,

You also deserve the combined Nobel prize in physics chemistry and biology as what you have.discovered applies to all life and nature.

I am thrilled. I will sleep in peace !

    May you have sweet dreams.

  • I see you still don't understand, This is a comment channel, It's mainly about giving comments, having opinions, discussion etc. etc.

  • Not Chemistry, certainly... When time comes, I am thinking of nothing less than Mathematics, Physics, Psychology and Biology! And I wouldn't do like Feynman (or poor Perelman) who feigned he couldn't be less interested in it!... Hey! How did you guess it?! Why such naive confusion about Chemistry? Tell us...

  • If in fact species evolution is an interface for quantum physics and general relativity then the Existential Quantum might be topological transfigurations for the figures of a Cantor diagonal taking a Hyperconnected Space manifold.

  • In some sense, Einstein has got a much stronger instinct of synthesis than Witten's. Well, Einstein used to say that we plan and think with the upper parts but the lower parts decide our fates!

  • I am trying to find out why it seems jewish people has got a stronger instinct of synthesis than others. I don't know yet. Anyway, this instinct of synthesis might have to do with our having a reproducible copy of ourselves within the scope of microscope semen. On a more abstract perspective I mean the strong human symbolical necessity to reproduce synthesis like e=mc2, Spacetime curvature explains gravity. That's it!

  • The SNP (strong principle of neighborhood - Newton/Leibniz/Silveira) mimics an OOP casting. 1. It makes the Existential Quantum into a topological entity. 2. It helps introducing the observer in the show. 3. It connects the SEP&SRP interfaces. 4. It brings consistency to evolution of species as interface for quantum physics & general relativity. 5. It shows that quantum gravity is all about emergence of life and therefore extra-dimensions.

  • 6. SRP is a reduction of the left arm (aleatory mutation) of species evolution.

  • 6. Because Einstein's EP is next level below the SEP, this last principle interfaces general relativity and species evolution.

  • The SRP (strong relativity principle - Galileo/Darwin/Einstein/Silveira) 1. deflects frame of references from scientific arena. 2. Introduces the Existential in place of frames of reference. 3. It is just above the Relativity Principle in the hierarchy of the arrows of explanation. 4. It states that "There is no preferred Existential on the Hyperconnected Space", subsiding aleatory mutation on the living realm. 5. It interfaces quantum physics and species evolution.

  • 1. The SEP (Spinoza/Silveira) introduces us in the show. 2. It is a reduction of the right arm of species evolution concept (the survival of the fittest). 3. It is just above Einstein's EP in the hierarchy of the arrows of explanation. 5. It connects the mergence of the universe and life. 5. It is a sheer witness of Spinoza's unconscious influence on Einstein.

  • The Bohr-Einstein dialog had an exasperated moment when Bohr said Einstein should have God handle his own strings...

  • We got the stage... the observers... It is a puppet show...

Who wittens to handle the strings?

  • The conversation here between mrq and etien is comparable to the Bohr-Einstein dialog in the early 20th century. I am sure Witten would be impressed. He is very smart like you guys.

  • Ah!Ah!Ah! I noticed by the "Conducting Mahler" vid choice that a subtle very fine soul was hidden behind it!

  • So when are you going to give a comment , that's not about other peoples comments .... At least I try to think and dream, and I'm not scared to share my opinions with others and debate.

Although my level might not be of the highest.

I guess, your comments show you are so much smarter, aren't you ...

  • The word metaphysics suffered a spacetime long corruption. Indeed, I like never's comments... they are comments about comments, so they are metacomments! Metamathematics is fundamental for mathematics; metaphysics for physics, etc! Nobody knows soccer as team coacher and plays it as team players, but what keep the liveliness of sports are the endless comments from 'plus ou moins' ignorant whatchers and devoters, isn't it?

  • Lol ! Well I've invented nevertheless123 to come and play instead of being a commenting spectator, so I hope he will bring us some good arguments and possibilitys, that will keep the commentpage more amusing and/or scientific.

  • Ok! Let us see what comes out of this gentlemanliness....

  • Schopenhauer said ; every new idea, will first be ridiculed, than it will face oposition, finaly after it has been accepted 'nevertheless" everyone will be a supporter of it ! 1..2..3... is just in the fase of ridiculisation, he doesn't want to opose...

  • hahaha

you are not only a scientific genius but have a touch of humor.

    And, what language.

Einstein looks like a moron compared to you.

Your theory will be proved very soon, dont worry. (The doomsday is arriving soon too)

  • The strong nuclear force wasn't even known by Einstein! Einstein & Freud loved to write letters (me too!), but Einstein - responsible for a wide spectrum of present tech gadgets - didn't know how to send a simple email! An illiterate, taking modern patterns... Anyway, Einstein already knew Darwin and Freud... He was conscious of some grand unified magnificence in nature... He could literally only dream of the SPE-SRE-SNE though... Not so regarding most of the scientific community nowadays!

  • Most sages believe a TOE will be able to unify the laws of nature. Then you take a physicist with a PHD now working in quantum gravity theories and say to him that species evolution interfaces quantum physics and general relativity (quite evident to guys like nevertheless123). These researchers become red, nervous, stuttering... You realize that too much twisted mathematics blocks their common human subtle ability to encompass and integrate wide range of apparently unconnected phenomena.

  • LOL To 123 ; are you one of those frustrated 2012 guys who has given up all hope. Or are you just having a midlifecrisis.

Bash it of baby. Writing in the way you do can help to enlight your stress. So if I can help you with replying sometimes just write it down my friend. By some peole this works terapeutic. Maybe it will help you to feel better. Inhale count 1,2,3, and than slowely exhale

If after a few weeks you feel no cure ; Visit a (real) psychiatrist, since I'm no psychiatrist either....

  • No I havent given up hope. Why should I? when you and mrq are writing about such exciting new discoveries into the nature of both nature and humanity.

The unified view of EVERYTHING. amazing amazing.

Keep going, dont talk to me but to yourselves. I am just an innocent bystander patiently waiting for more and more exciting new insights.

  • Lol. among al these serious comments came a moment of humor.

who says it's a theory of everything. Besides you and one other person , the vast majority of people I spoke with find it a good idea. I've got friends who are gratuates and researchers to in this mather . The responce I had from people here in The Netherlands is positive in general. The only problem is you need very strong computers and newly written software.

In my country we have companys like Philips etc. so maybe, just maybe..

  • On top of making the Existential Quantum a mathematical object, the SNP introduces the observer in the real show!

  • Yes, now you have a good feeling what I was writing about . On the next plateau we will HAVE to be included !!! otherwise we still won't understand anything and restrict ourselfs to a small part from what's realy the reality. We choose to eat from the apple to make the choise.

  • wow ! wow ! how deeeep. Hold it right there, you two (mrq and etien). I am getting you both geniuses a biographer. You have uncovered the mysteries of physical and biological worlds ! I am EXCITED !! KEEP TALKING !!! I cant hold my excitement !!!!!

ahhhh, how many years have I waited for this. Where have you been, The Einstein and Bohr of the 21st century. Geniuses.

  • ... choose to eat from the apple to make the choice! I hadn't really thought about that. Great!

  • Quantum physics has never been able to take account of the observer, but to ascribe him a passive well-behaved attitude in its experimental method. What about String theory? We see the observer having some interesting role while investigating BH behaviour. I believe the holographic principle says this is not enough! Then I heard a trumpet and the angel said: let the observer be observed!

  • About Witten and History: for each animal that lives or ever lived in this planet you have a consciousness path which won't be recorded in the history plates. We are used to think History is all about the true array of contiguous and time connected events participating in the narrative of what is of interest to us. This account kind of extracts the true individual from report. That's all about western science: unable to immerse the observer into the worksheet. Think of strings...

  • What a great interview. Nice to have an interviewer who is passionate and informed about the subject too. Thanks.

  • he was a HISTORY major?? lol wow, will wonders never cease.

  • it sort of explains that string theorists are all con artists.

How can a history major be trusted with physics?

  • We are here to comment on the main issue of the clip above, which is the promotion of `string` theory, not `God` ;) :P
