You just need a little rest from creativeness for awhile. Unfortunately, you can't break from school. Maybe spring break soon? A good mental break? That always helps me.
I have the exact same problem. I have an ENORMOUS pile next to my bed but I haven't finished a single one this year. I blame Kristina for tiring us out at the end of last year...but I'm not sure.
More evidence that college ruins you. You should never major in something that you love because almost certainly learning about it will ruin it for you.
I totally understand what you're going through. Last semester, I took four English classes, German, and band. That was it. And it killed my brain. I was writing at least two papers a week, not to mention the hundreds of pages I had to read each week. It was ridiculous. I completely burned myself out. What I'm most worried about is the fact that I used to be really good at reading and writing analytically, but after last semester, it's like I just can't do it anymore. It sucks.
If you are going to go to the trouble of posting, I can at least comment.
Everyone's creative journey and source of inspiration is different. Eventually I discovered that my companion was a "Creativity Demon" rather than a benign muse.
My demon would be so pleased if you also had a creativity demon: his favorite story is your "Wangdoodles" - he idolizes the Mean Lean Kill'n Machines.
I feel your pain. The exact same thing happened to me in college . . . and from the look of it, the seven or eight people that commented before I did.
The good news is that it never lasts forever. College can't keep imagination defeated forever! =)
Yeah...that's what University does to you. I know exactly how you feel about the reading thing. I recommend joining some sort of book club (then it gives you an excuse to read because it's a commitment).
As for the writing thing, that has to be your own focus. I try to give twenty minutes to writing every night before I go to bed (I usually fail, but maybe you'll have more success than me). I find if you schedule time for creativity...it might actually get done. Good luck!
Maybe using a blue background with white text in Word would be less intimidating. That's what I use. The blue is soothing.
But somehow, I don't think that is the problem.
I used to stress about uploading YT vids. But now I just do them when I can. We love your stuff, or we wouldn't have subbed.
If I were you, I would try to find things that reduce stress. School is hard. It sounds like you put forth a lot of effort when you do things. Let that be enough of an accomplishment.
You've hit the nail on the head. I'm the same. The only times I allowed myself to read in high school and college were during the holidays. Because when I read... I get sucked in and go around doing things one handed. I take baths instead of showers because one can read in the bath. :S
If you ever need someone to upload for you, I'd be happy to. <3
I've been having trouble creatively, too. I'm trying to take ten minutes a day and write in a journal, or a some spare paper. I'm not doing anything with this writing, but it's sort of helping me to get back into writing.
And you should try reading children's books. I know it sounds crazy, but they are short, easy, and actually easy to analyze.
Don't worry about it. You're inspiration will come back.
You're awesome :D I don't tell people that enough, so I'm starting now! You don't know me, and you probably won't ever know me, but I think you're awesome!
Also my brain does the lame blank thing, and I have piles and piles of work :(. Ah well.
Siiiiiigh. This is me too. It's so unsettling. Gaaaaaahh.
I think we've talked about this before. Don't worry; you'll get through this dry spell. If creativity was an endless flow, we'd never know how creative we really are. Does that make any sense? Meh.

I think you should rename this video "School Ruins Lives" or something similiar.
I just graduated from high school and that is exactly how I feel. Hence, no study for me this year!

I have far too much reading to do for classes, so instead of reading novels I'm...watching YouTube...far more intellectually stimulating, amirite?
