  • I was a projectionist at the granada slough the essoldo cipenham slough. The adelphi Slough often on loan to these cinemas and the Realsto maidenhead

  • Ahh, saw A View to a Kill and Ghostbusters there many moons ago.

  • The old ABC high street cinemas had something that modern ones lack... CHARACTER!

  • The DP75 is a nice mech. (though perhaps not up to daily 70mm use that the DP70 was designed for). They are very gentle & forgiving to old and damaged prints.

A good DP75 will run almost silently with only the gentle lapping film loops to be heard. If anything more than 'gentle touch' on the top skates is necessary to get a steady image, there is something amiss elsewhere.

  • Its not a surprise they went out of business, everyone used to just sneak in through the emergency exits.

  • What a great cinema that was. ABC 1 upstairs was a great place to see a film with its wide curved screen.

  • I went in that cinema a few times in my childhood. There's some rather ugly luxury flats there now. Though the cinema wasn't an architectural treasure by any means (it always reminded me of a big brick)I'd rather have it than what's there now!

  • Nice booth -- clean. Looks like good equipment to me --

must have been a terrific theatre before it was split/

    Thank you.

  • OMG... I remember the old cinema! That place was a dive! Sooo old! New cinema is much nicer!
