  • I like Cigarros

  • Comment removed

  • Listening to this helps me understand why I am here. And makes me feel like we're not such a lost species after all. There may yet be hope for us.

  • I love Jonsi's facial expressions like he's going to cry or something. so touching

  • ahahaha! "crazy announcing enthusiasm man announces SIGAR ROSS WOOO clap clap clap..." silence... "most beautiful music you'll ever hear." They had no idea...

  • it's the untitled #4 of the () album, or sometimes it's called "the nothing song"

  • whats the name of this song?!?! <3

  • i officially love Sigur Ros!!

dont hate me for being a noob but whats this piece called??

  • @Bittersweetx0x Dear noob,

Its called Njosnavelin a.k.a. The Nothing Song

  • haha he's holding a copy of agaetis byrjun but the song is off of ( )

    fail

  • who ever puts thumbs down for this is crazy!

    this is a masterpiece!

  • what's the name of this song?

  • course he did, he's not only just a prat in a suit but an American. They like to think that everyone pronounces letters the same way as they do.

  • @didjital101 Actually, the real problem with English is that its pronunciation makes so little sense that we are left guessing 90% of the time as to how a word is actually pronounced. Add to that the differing pronunciations between letters in Icelandic and English (and the host's lack of 5 seconds to google how Sigur Ros is pronounced) and you get "see-gar ross." I would kill for English to be spelled phonetically.

  • I would kiil to have Jón Þór's (Jónsi's) voice and a cello bow.

  • Great song to die to...

  • Great song to get a massage to, or make love to...

  • Bravo !

  • love love love!!!!!!!

  • I think its also called "The Nothing Song"

  • the song is called Untitled 4 (aka Njósnavélin). It's off of the album "( )"

  • can someone tell me, which is the name of this song?

  • love !

  • amazing!

  • ...magica..liquida...notturna...da toccare l'anima...grande musica...

  • This music exactly fits with the movie Vanilla Sky I love that movie

  • ur a fag.... u obviously have no taste in music

  • beautiful. I'm a professional musician... this is the first time in years music has given me chills.

  • its all about nuance and modesty. nothing too fancy here, just music in its most pure form, stripped down, naked on a cold floor on the first day of the rest of its life.

  • gave me chills too

  • sigur ros make heavenly music

  • strange how there are soo many bands here that suck, but ONE from iceland blows all of them AWAY. i thought coldplay was number 1, but this band is number 1 in my book :P just started listening to them today..

  • coldplay sucks

  • say wat? NO U DIDN'T! cold play is a GREAT BAND! so like watevers, ok, like OMG :P

  • ... so like whatever, ok, like OMG- you're a fag.

  • :o( MEANO! like OMG, like watever, like..like :(

  • i agree coldplay. i dont like coldplay. still, the number 1 band is radiohead hands down. they're completely untouchable.

  • yo so fa

  • very good!!

  • sigur rós the best

  • where was this?

  • late late show with craig kilbourne, American show. No longer same host.

  • that song was the perfect finish for vanilla sky i think it made the mood perfect and sad. i love this song.

  • siga was

  • *whale

  • It's actually the very first time I see someone playing guitar with a bow... Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth) should try this too !

  • i believe that jimmy page or richi blackmore(don't know for sure) was the first one who ever did this.

but one way or an other this is a great song (:

  • ever see a live Zeppelin vid? jimi page is a playa when it comes to that.

  • ha..the guy must be living in a cave..cheers..

  • What a wonderful band and song :)

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Iv'e been thinking about a boiler plated metal hull for the boat that we sail across the Atlantic when we get the chance mate.

I heard that some people have got there boats chumped by Wales. No fucking problem here if we build it of metal we just need a shit load of money..........what do you think.

  • Well first make sure that the metal hull you purchase has a titanium base handle. That way when it covers your "boat" its heavy enough to withstand any wale attack. After that check yourself to a hospital and ask the doctor why would you get on Youtube and post a comments about boats while listening to Sigur Ros.

  • Listening to this masterpiece and you begin to put your life in perspective.

  • Une des plus belles musique que j'ai jamais ecouté ... One of the greats musis i've ever listen ... Una de las mejores musicas ke e oye en mi vida ....

  • Lo mejor.. lejos.

  • SIGUR ROS mood bring my love one back with me again..

    thanks you guys..

  • I really like sigur ros, I saw them at Glastonbury 2003(i think). Fantastic. If that is a genuine mistake at 40 secs it fits pretty well!

  • Yeah! that chord on the piano is brilliant if that's what he was going for...

  • It wasn't a mistake, but it was a bit louder than usual.

  • for everyone wondering. its not completely icelandic and it's not completely hopelandish. their songs consist of both languages and yes, sigur ros made up hopelandish (or hopelandic, either way the point remains.)

  • Do any of you have a not shitty version of njosnavelin in mp3 format? If so, please hit me up. unatragediabella on AIM. I'd be VERY greatful, I really want a better version of this song but I always get the shittily recorded staticky one. Let me know.

  • he gets a really good sound with his bow, does anyone know any specifics with his distortion or his amp or anything?

  • i think he uses a sort of delay pedal in combination with a distortion pedal

  • what is he saying?(the few lyrics in the song anyway...)

  • the lyrics are allin hopelandic, the lamguage that sigur ros made up

  • I was in opener festival `06 and I saw this band; thats was...

  • Lol. I'm gonna go slash my wrists now. Anyone wanna come join me?

  • no thanx buddy ... go nuts .. u wanna gun?

  • Ohh gosh!!! did anybody hear the keyboard mistake?, 00:40 check out! anyway, this is wonderfull

  • i love Sigur Ros :)

  • so beuatiful. Untitled #4 . I love it.

  • great hymn...great band...great mood...grat people...

  • i mean where he plays his guitar as a violin

  • I dont see anyone dieing

  • that part is deadly where he plays his guitar at the end of it

  • heres the meaning

    I travelled through light

I travelled through light; I am not afraid

In this lake of souls In this lake of souls, I lose all fear

  • are you sure that's oficial ?

  • johnny??...what are you talking about:P

there are no lyrics to this song, it´s untitled 4 from the ( ) album and it has no lyrics...jónsi sings in gibberish, hopelandic:)

  • if that is indeed the lyrics, this songs has one of the best lyrics ive ever read/heard. thank u

  • Essil on

    Essil on erifet al

    Essil on

    Essil on eriftel al

    Essil on

  • likes this song, good song

  • it's not a funeral.

  • they had the audience applaud too early. kinda ruined it, and seems a little disrespectful.

  • Very Cool performance, reminds me of shoegazing.

  • cool! check them out in Screaming Masterpiece!! They're awesome in that one!

  • "ladies and gentlemen, Cigar Ráas!" haha wow thats.. not really the right way to pronounce it. (: this is one of their best songs.

  • Haunting.

  • this music is what i expect to hear on my way 2 the pearly gates. what a band

  • Hey Douchebag, they're awesome and not racist at all. If you don't get their music listen to them on Screaming Masterpiece. They're explaining it to you.

  • explain the 'racism' and the 'crap' parts of this song.....

  • Look at this FoundingFather's profile. He is disturbed.

  • This is nothing but RACIST CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol wut?

  • i love this song

  • thank you hopelandic

  • They were recommended to me by a friend. I have listened to more since this and I do like it very much! Beautiful! Without vocals is far better and they are better on video than live.

  • Nice instrumentation, but the vocals are monotonous-just the same words over and over and over......

  • that's the point of sigur ros. at least the tracks from this album. the only reason there are vocals on this album is to compliment the music with sounds, noises that don't mean anything from a language he created specifically for ( ).

  • dude, go listen to fuckin hilary duff or something then - clearly you're in the wrong place for having said that!

  • njosnavelin is the best song ever!

  • can never never get enough of this song....

  • Damn, this song is soo beautiful I almost cried...

  • great stuff. what a sound.

  • wtf is this..

  • every one go fuck em self

  • my fiancee is going to walk down the aisle to this song. i'm so glad to be alive at the same time sigur ros is putting out music.

  • Your're friggin' awesome to have the courage to be unique. With this song in your wedding and Sigur Ros in your lives the chances of your marriage lasting increases ten-fold!May you both be blessed and joyful.OK... that last line was a little cheesy but you get the point,I mean have you seen the divorce rate lately? The music of Sigur Ros could easily be the soundtrack of many profound moments in our lives.P.S.Many tracks from'Takk'and'AB'are great"honeymoon"songs, if you know what I mean.

  • How lame that they cut the song off. It still goes on, you know.

  • There are a couple songs from Takk that are in Hopelandic, though. : )

  • in many of Sigur Rós songs they have no lyrics. for example the album from 2002, has no lyrics at all. He sings in Hopelandic. The language has no meaning. It just fits to the music. and its up to the listener what they feel it means..

  • only one cd is in "hopelandic" the rest is in icelandic. Im 100& sure because I'm icelandic

  • many? there are only like, 8 songs apart from the album () that are in hopelandic, and 4 of them have both icelandic and hopelandic references in them

  • really? i thought only () had hopelandic on it. but since im swedish and not icelandic i cant really tell the difference. xD but i am actually learning icelandic, i want to understand those lyrics. the icelandic ones, of course. haha

  • oo nice, hows that going? :P

  • i dont know, not to well, hahah. Komdu blessud, hahah

(yeah i know thats the wrong letter but i simply dont know how to make one of those crossed d's :P). and blessadur to a man. xD Fyrirgefdu, getur pu sagt mer hvar hotel islands er? hahahahah

  • why can't there be more music like this?

  • I searched the lyrics and it said the language in it was made up by the band. Not sure if it is true.

  • its true. the language is made up by them.

  • only one cd is in "hopelandic" the rest is in icelandic. Im 100& sure because I'm icelandic

  • yeah i know LzJPage. thats the ALBUM, which only have hopelandic. but there are other songs with hopelandic on other albums. didnt u know that? olsen olsen on "Aegaetis B.." hopelandic there also?

  • i love this shit!! i wish i knew what he was saying, but what a great song!

  • When was this recorded? If it was when Vanilla Sky came out, man that was like late 01 or early 02.

  • hahaha @ 'ehhhhhhhhh'. That's EXACTLY what i thought.

  • haha mispronounced.. great way to be introduced

  • what kind of pedal effect is using whit his guitar???

  • That's a reverb with strong feedback, ie, most of the input signal is already wet.

  • I saw them in Toronto...the greatest show i have ever been at. "Dauðalagið/the death song" is so cool live...

  • That was amazing! I absolutely love how he turns his guitar into two insruments!

  • Beautiful, but everyone knew that already. Still can't believe I missed them when they were in town.

  • This song gives me shivers and reminds me of rolling around in a sea of sheets with my love. beautiful music from a very talented band.

  • Sigur ros is the sound of god crying golden tears in heaven. Smeone told this. And he was right.

  • space .. if I ever go to space this would be the best song to listen to on my ipod while floating around.. I won't ever go to space though lol

  • my band

  • found this by accident. WOW!!! I have never seen anything so perfect. Silence is their canvass.

  • This song makes me cry.. beautiful :)

  • I know the band very well, I've seen them live, it is nothing like Radiohead... both bands are awsome but quite different. Not only english singing bands are good... that way out of reality!

  • very beatiful, wish a had that ''stick'' to play with my guitarr too...sounds great!!Amazing melodies, but a litle too repetitives..i dont really know the band, but it sound like a Radiohead's autistic son...lololol

  • its called a violin bow :P or if you want something more high-tech google the E-Bow, I use one of them, both violin bow and ebow

  • actually, Jonsi uses a cellow bow, not a violin bow, it's far to sensitive and brittle for a guitar.

and to the person wanting to learn playing a guitar with a cello bow, good luck. It takes years to perfect, Jonsi just makes it look very easy :p

  • oh wow, i've been using a violin bow all this time

  • Beautiful.

  • sigur ros is like a dream

  • i dream..

  • GREAT

  • music like from fairy tale... very impressive

  • i love this song!

  • the singer looks like

    my penis hurts

i love sigur ros but.. well

  • Beautiful.

  • ...just lovely.

  • Just an amazing band.

  • so if its hopelandic does he just make it up on the spot(improvise)

  • I love love love these guys. thank you for sharing

  • The song is awfully repetitive, but it does go well for a listen or two. I think the reason why it blends in well with the film and your imagination is that kinda tune does that for you and if you find yourself listening to it again and again with nothing in your mind ull get fed up soon enough.

  • this song was part of vanilla sky's soundtrack

one of the most beautiful songs ever..

  • GUSHING?

  • You'll be interested to know that Thom Yorke is actually a fan of this band. Not everyone will like this band.

  • Yet another overrated dreary indie band. Does the lead singer think he's Thom Yorke? Which part was the chorus? The songs is the same thing for 5 minutes. Awful band!

  • 1. Sigur Ros is not an indie band genius, and they're sure as hell not some new 'hot band', they'be been around since 94'.

    2. I don't think they give a shit about Thom Yorke and oh, PS: THEY SOUND NOTHING ALIKE.

    3. Which part was the chorus? Listen dude, if you're gonna diss a band, have your shit checked out.

  • Although Radiohead are perhaps more technically gifted, Sigur Ros evokes more emotion at it's worst than Radiohead can only conjure in it's best.

  • Not every song needs the intro-verse-chorus-verse-chorus-outro idea. Try to think out of the normal borders, don't say it sucks because it isn't like a normal song.

Thanks for uploading, I love this band.

  • Fu** You! They've toured with and opened for Radiohead for a while, yet they sound nothing alike, and they (internationally) have made it a great deal further! Give some respect BEOTCH!!

  • Soo enchanting!!! Gotta love those Icelanders.. ;)

  • if that doesnt make you fall asleep, nothing will.

  • in a good way i hope

  • Beautiful.

  • awesome

  • FYI: The lyrics translate to --> Is all well, do all wild doves find love?

Compliments of MC Haloni from Iceland...

  • it's in hopelandic, which is gibberish, so they're isn't any lyrics that mean anything in any language..

  • isnt this songs lrics made up

or is that a different album

  • it's just like having a shower in the sea~

  • cheira meu saco brasileiro! pau no cú!

  • this is my fellow countryman, uffff

  • good good good but theres better way better
