With all due respect Alexn1067, I don't know many people that actually "miss" BUSH, unless one misses 747's slamming into buildings, overprinting of $, special interests (Haliburton anyone?), arrogance & a" bond" w/ the wealthy. The only people missing him are the RICH he protected well w/ incentives that crushed the average american. Attending a few Tea-Baggings doesn't make you racist unless you have a sign insisting that Obama is a Kenyan or that he wasn't born in the U.S. or the use of Community Organizing or ACORN as veiled attempts at racially marginalizing Obama.
The fact is that the Public Option plan will not replace the private sector, it will break it's monopoly. I do agree that allowing state to state insurance will help, but it should be coupled with the public option because they can still merge.

A national leader need not necessarily be able to independently create solutions to various crisis. That is generally the task of advisory boards, committees etc. So the "No clue" reference would equally apply to his team. The ancient problem of self interest arises in that practically every government could not care less about the poeple. When you apply the golden rule of Do As You Would Be Done By then radical changes can ensue. How about Barak sleeping rough in an alleyway for a week?

Definitely agree with that sentiment. I was just reminded of all the worst possible pictures taken of Bush being printed on every newspaper to make him look bad. I don't like Obama, but catching him at his worst speech or photo moments doesn't prove he's a bad president. But like you said, using a leaf blower to spread money around is not going to force automakers to get with the program. Wouldn't mind seeing some new car brands emerge!
