He's straight to the point, no dancing around questions with some politically correct answer. Unlike Joel Osteen who believes Hindu's and Mormons are saved Christian's because they are good people. Voddie has become one of my favorite preacher's today. Watch his video titled, why I choose to believe the bible. There's three videos that make up one sermon. The best apologetics sermon I've ever heard.
This video is an excellent exemplification of this passage of scripture:
And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will. (2 Timothy 2:24-26 ESV)
I respect this man and all of the other people out there who see the dangers of feminism and are not afraid to speak the truth no matter who may not like it. He is one of my favorite speakers and his daughter Jasmine is a true role model in this dark world we live in today.
Not enough preachers like Voddie teaching the truth from the Pulpit. Too many preachers today have fallen prey to political correctness and are influenced by the culture. Paul specifically says in 1 Timothy that women are not to be in authority over men in the church. That means no women pastors teaching men in the church. The Bible is very clear on this. All Voddie was doing is speaking the truth.
If men were doing what they were designed to do and actually lead their families, we would not HAVE to pull double duty and take care of the house and kids and ministry work AND work an additional full time job. And if men were leading this country the way God intended, women would not have to. It's not that women are less capable. Deborah did not want the role of leader, but Barak insisted. He is described as cowardly for it.
Deborah was blessing and judgement. Its more like God going "Alright..you guys want me lift up up the judgement of the that antion that controls you now...and it seems you'll change for a few generations. But though most of you want it, you are still wicked...not a single righteous man, so i must have the women lead. A sign that you know...guys might not be doing their jobs."
I guess Deborah was passive aggressive judgement on the state of culture.
Why does she keep going to "translated"?? Does she not see that Voddie just says what is in the bible? not what HE thinks? stupid people like that are dangerous in todays world of religion.
3:21 - With all due respect to Dr. Baucham, he didn't answer the question. And what he said at 4:17 about Deborah and her rule being a "sign of judgment" is ABSOLUTELY FALSE, and he ought to be ashamed of himself for saying that. No biblical basis WHATSOEVER for him saying that.
'Judges' is clear that the judges were SPECIFICALLY CHOSEN by God, and were raised up by God at various times to DELIVER ISRAEL.
So either Dr. Baucham doesn't know what he's talking about, or is pushing an agenda.
@reapingmeadow, what you makes no sense and has absolutely nothing to do with anything.
Dr. Baucham didn't answer the question posed to him at 3:21. He was asked about the impact of Sarah Palin's candidacy on certain evangelicals who don't even believe a woman should be in the pulpit. In other words, would they reconcile a woman "ruling over" the country with their notion that a woman is not to lead over men?
@NYTNinAmerica Deborah was a sign of judgement because God did not find a single capable man to do the job. The men in power were so incompetent that a woman had to do their job. That is judgement on the men of Israel.
@cds27cds, there is one problem with your statement: It is found NOWHERE in scripture.
Nowhere in scripture does it state or imply that Deborah was a sign of judgment. In fact, Deborah was a sign of God's BLESSING. Why? Because Judges 2 shows how God raised up the Judge to deliver and lead them back to righteousness. So the Judge was NOT a curse.
Further, if what you say is true about all the men being so incompetent, then it seems to me that EVERY JUDGE WOULD HAVE BEEN A WOMAN.
@Crossx39, I don't understand why people keep referring to Isaiah 3. Isaiah describes events of the period c. 778– a. 732 and has NOTHING TO DO with the period of the Judges (which events occurred during the period c. 1450– c. 1120). NOWHERE in Isaiah 3 does it say that Deborah's rule was a sign of judgment. It's NOT in the text.
@NYTNinAmerica lol..and why do you not understand that Isaiah 3 isnt just describing one time period. Deborah's rule was a sign of judgment...cuz it meant that the Deborah was more of a man than the men of Israel at that time...
Also, I don't understand why you keep making claims for which you have absolutely no evidence. There is NO EVIDENCE IN SCRIPTURE that Deborah's rule was a "sign of judgment". And continuing to say that does not make it true.
@NYTNinAmerica its funny that cant see whats right in front of you. lol..i just used Isaiah 3 as my evidence its about what a nation is like when under judgment from G-D as Dr. Baucham said one of those things are that a woman rules over men(cuz men stopped being men)...and you continuing to say its not true without giving a shred of evidence is rather sad.
@Crossx39, it's funny that you're still trying to argue over this foolishness...
You quoted Isaiah 3's reference to women ruling over the nation as evidence of a nation being "under judgment". And in response, I'm saying to you that if that were true, then ALL of the Judges would have been women. In Judges, the people were constantly in rebellion. But when God would raise up a Judge, the people would repent and turn back to God.
So answer the question: Why weren't ALL the Judges women?
@NYTNinAmerica argue? no i'm just stating the facts that i know to be true.as i'm sure you are too... Now the only reason there was only one woman judge was because(at the time of God picking judges) there wasnt any "real men" who feared the Lord.. He pick a woman judge to shame the men back into obedience......the other times all was needed was Godly man to led the others to action ..nether of us is going to change our minds..so lets say we agree to disagree.
@Crossx39, you don't seem to understand erroneous your reasoning is:
▪ You said, "the only reason there was only one woman judge was because...there wasnt any "real men" who feared the Lord."
▪ Now the problem -- as pointed out numerous times now -- is you have NO EVIDENCE supporting your claim. We are just to accept this as true simply because you say so.
▪ You have NO AUTHORITY to determine God's reasoning for a thing, except it is stated or implied IN SCRIPTURE.
@NYTNinAmerica i could just take what you just said and use the same against you. i'm taking what i know of scripture here . and you have NO EVIDENCE to say i'm wrong ether... and Nether do YOU have authority to determine God's reasoning ether...But i'm just going of what DR. Baucham said and what i know... but think What BETTER way to shame a nation back to obedience than having a woman telling men what to do.. Judges 4:6-9, Isaiah 3:12(which states how a nation is in its last hours w/o God.)
@NYTNinAmerica Please quote me 1 scripture that says a women can be a pastor in a church and I'll give you 5 that says she can't. Dr Baucham represented the word of God in it's truest form, he did not add or take anything away. On the other side of the coin, Margret Fienberg clearly miss used Ephesians chpt 5, to make a simple point if your okay with that, then you really need to start evaluating who you stand for (God or man)
@NYTNinAmerica, I believe Dr. Baucham is absolutely correct in his assessment. I remember quoting the very text in a discussion you and I had concerning women in leadership. You may need to really take a study of the book of Judges, especially Judges 4.
What agenda is he pushing? It seems a God-honoring agenda. Not a politically correct or gender neutral agenda. I, for one, love the idea that there are still men who want to protect us women from having to take the lead.
@blessedginger2, a "God honoring agenda" should be supported by TRUTH -- not lies, misrepresentation, and error.
Voddie Baucham is NOT correct with regard to his assessment of Deborah's rule as a Judge. What he stated is found NOWHERE in scripture.
And stop telling me to take study of Judges 4, when you know good and well I've already done that. Why else do you think I'm saying what I'm saying? I've examined the text THOROUGHLY, and what Baucham says IS NOT THERE.
@blessedginger2, well I guess we're back where we started then. I respect you as well, but neither one of our "views" matters. What matters is what scripture clearly and consistently shows. I have nothing personal against Voddie Baucham, and I have no doubt that he is a well-educated and well-qualified pastor/teacher. But what he said differs with what is in scripture. And that is truth we must face and accept -- not just simply "agree to disagree". That does not honor God.
@NYTNinAmerica Oh, okay. If NYTN interprets the scripture a certain way, then that settles it. I disagree with YOU thinking that the scripture "clearly and consistently" shows that it's God's will for a woman to lead a man. Am I required to defer to your understanding of scripture and agree to it as "TRUTH"?
So can we agree that you and/or I could be wrong? If so, we agree that you and I disagree with the interpretation of this scripture. Peace.
@blessedginger2 No NYTN is 100% wrong and scripture is right, the only way u get the doctrine she/he is preaching is by reading it into the text. Dr Baucham identified the crook for what it is, which is culture. The bible never says women R lower then men in any way, it clearly does explain that men are assigned a higher office. Example of higher office: Even though Barack Obama is president does that mean he's better then us? No, it simply means he just has more responsibility.
This is possibly the worst TV Journalism I have ever seen. The news anchor is clearly trying to instigate a fight between a man and a woman who are leaders in different church communities so that she can push her feminist bias through the media.
people make links that arent there... people are blind if they cant see that the women were trying to defend a feminist viewpoint when voddie was merely saying truth should be spoken regardless of cultural opinion. and they get a whiff of anything they think is important to a women and link it to feminism, put voddie in their anti feminist box and then dont listen to what hes actually saying!
props to voddie for laying simple points, standing his ground and being gracious at the same time.
The Bible says nothing about a man and a woman submitting to one another, she twisted that. I really like him, he is one of the very few men that stand up for biblical truth and doesn't allow this world to taint his beliefs. You go Voddie!! You have just gained another listener!
i dont even know what to say.....ITS AMAZING. The fact that the gospel is 100% the opposite of this fallen world yet we still get truth preached on CNN for thousands (if not millions to hear) Thank God for his 100% sovereignty
@CallmeMell If the Gospel is 100% the opposite of the earthly world, I, as a Christian, better commit suicide right away. Because I am bound to do the opposite of God's will for another 60 years or so, so better take the short path to heaven before I slip off the long path, which is all covered in black ice.
@NotOnlySelfLover ill message you a video or two on this topic. If anyone has a similar comment message me ill forward the same videos to you. I think it clears up what i was trying to say.
Voddie talks out of both sides of his mouth. He says in his public ministry that a woman should hold to the role provided in the Bible, yet he thinks it's fine for a woman with small children to run for VP. Voddie is a Christian Reconstructionist that holds to dominion theology - apparently at no cost to the voice. This radical view of Christianity that says the Christian should take over the power of all of the high public places is radical and unbiblical. Stick to family ministry.
@fulqwvr7 He never says its okay for her to run as VP in fact he opposes it. Furthermore I have listened to Voddie's teaching and he in no way preaches dominion theology he in fact has sermons opposing and exposing dominion theology.
@fulqwvr7 He never said he thought it was fine for her to run for VP. He was answering the news womans question about why he thinks her faith plays a role in evangelicals supporting her. He was pretty clear about not supporting a woman running for this position though.
Voddie has a great point that Margaret lady really dosent kno the Bible as well but Voddie is a pastor...HE KNOWS she cant just make up a meaning for what she read.
Narrow? If the truth can go two ways it's not considered truth.. its considered relative.. The truth is narrow.. period. If Baucham was a woman, he would understand the rule of a woman and submit to that role. Praise God.
holy crap people, i was shocked by the positive rating of pro baucham comments. this man is dangerous, he is a fundamentalist and promotes concepts such as stay at home daughters that belong in the 1950s and not in year 2011. he is a good speaker and i see why he seems appealing to people, but dont be fooled into believing everything he says.
also, faith should not interfere with politics. let faith be your private decision and action and if you work in politics, decide rationally.
"I believe that's a narrow interpretation of the text." That's the best that Margaret has? She kept avoiding using scripture with Voddie after that because she knew she wasn't going to "win" that way. How sad it is that Christians have resorted to thinking the way our culture does and trying to impose our biases on the bible. Voddie rip tore that argument apart and I'm so glad he firmly stood on the Word of God.
Voddie is right, the horrendous sexist perspective is exactly what the Bible says. Stop twisting the Bible to fit reality, it is a dreadful text that says what it says. It advocates discrimination against gays, women etc. Stop twisting it to accord with the more modern and just world we now live in, you cannot deny its contents.
If you know in your heart that such discrimination is wrong, might I suggest you rethink the whole Bible and Christianity thing?
@billymagfhloinn descrimination against gays? sorry homosexuals that is. The bible is against sin and since homosexuality is a sin, the bible is against it.
The bible doesnt promote sexism it promotes order. Fact is, this world would be better if people got married and wives took care of their homes first. However if you read Proverbs 31, wives did work to help the family. So scripure is not against women working but the home cannot be sacrficed for gains sake.
@billymagfhloinn the law was for the jews you can eat what you want.
genocide and slavery - its true that wicked nations were punished by God but that can be said for own people.
Lets suppose you have prisoners working on the chain gang, would you call them slaves? its more like servants.
Also, let it be known that biblical slavery on a whole was not like how it was for Africans in the US etc, that not the concept at all. Most slaves were also free to leave after 7 years
@billymagfhloinn slavery was due to punishment or poverty, even the Children of Israel were killed and enslaved. You may think this is crazy but if a wicked nation continued in wickedness, wickedness would happen to them. America dropped a H Borm on Japan and many people think it great.
The bible is against rape, so from that i deduce that it not as you say. I am sure of that.
CNN and the pastor are missing a point here. They are confusing two different places of leadership. Church leadership is under different Biblical guidelines than for leaders in our communities, schools and government. Rules for the one are not rules for the other. God says men and women are equal in His sight, but he has laid out different roles. Unfortunately our interpretation of values are too influenced by world, putting to much value in leadership/power roles that are traditionally male.
Truth was spoken to millions! PRAISE THE LORD! Margaret took the Word and ran it through a liberal shredder but Pastor Baucham stood firm and staunchly proclaimed the Word!
Now this is how you stick to the word of God, this man doesn't care if he is counter-cutural...he preaches the word and that's what he is called to do not be politically correct.
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
"so if one must translate the scriptures to what the scriptures say and not to
to violate the text. not according to what the culture wants to hear"
From Rabbi, theologians, and Pastors I've talked with women not speaking is a cultural issue of the time, of not disturbing the service and asking a husband about what was said later. I don't think Voddie said they "have" to stay in the kitchen, but he is saying that God gave men a certain role of authority over the household. Many will agree some will interpret scripture differently. In Romans Paul was dealing with culture. Men never "have" to be slaves to one another women dont "have" to cook
I am a married woman and business owner,I like being at home, I find such joy in cooking dinner and cleaning the house. Ive noticed scince ive had my own business the house is in a mess and we dont eat well as everything is so rushed! My husband works full time and helps out with the washing and cleaning.I do find such joy in how he apreciates a good meal and a clean house it creates such a good vibe. Its not about woman being inferior its natural woman are the BEST at looking after the home.
the bible also talked about slavery and not to run from your master, so you want to restore that as gospel truth?Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ.
@1outofone Firstly, your tone is all wrong. If you disagree with someone, it ought to be done respectfully. Second, you're taking that verse out of context. That very verse goes on to say how being a hard worker can be a powerful witness to your "master." Also, what the Bible refers to here as slavery is actually servitude, completely different from the type of slavery we're used to reading about in our history books. Servitude in Biblical times was a means of paying off a debt.
@tHeEtHmAn18 yes but also there were slaves as in the slavery trade also.
these were often prisoners of war etc...
and as far as respect goes what is disrespectful? because a black man is told to go back to the cotton field? yet is perfectly acceptable for him to tell a woman to get back into the kitchen?
if we are to hold to the "exact wording" of the scriptures of Paul then voddie would still be riding in the back of the bus or couldn't vote anyway Romans 13:1-6
@1outofone In case you forgot, God rescued the Israelites from slavery. It was then at the word slavery took on a different meaning. Also, you seem to be disregarding the fact that you told Voddie to "bite" you. And Voddie never said that a woman's place is in the kitchen. The woman in the video was misquoting Ephesians. She made it sound as if the woman is to reign supreme, whereas marriages should be equal. Marriages are supposed to represent Jesus's relationship with his people, or "bride."
@tHeEtHmAn18 no I am pretty sure he said women belong at home and not the workplace. ""keeper of the house""
so again voddie needs to submit to romans 13, find a masa, and give up his seat to white men and women , and his wife also cannot vote.
so like I said he cant have it both ways.
either he reverts back to being a good ole "nig" or he needs to take the whole of scripture. bottom line is these arrogant men think that they take one verse out and make a statement and disregard the rest.yes sa
@tHeEtHmAn18 I totally agree ...although white men used the bible to re-inforce slavery...biblical slavery and servitude wasn't very different and God would never want the worship of money, lack of love, and evil punishment that American Slavery introduced to be condoned by scripture..proves men can use the bible any way they choose to justify pure evil
@dontaewinslow well how about the fact of Romans 13 if we are going to take scripture and say females stay home, be quiet in church ask your husbands, then we need to implement the whole of scripture.
vodie needs to understand that you cant have it both ways either he gives up his rights.
so which is it? mlk& rosa parks were going against romans 13!
@1outofone "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal." In response to your comment about MLK and Rosa Parks, they weren't violating the law. Not really. The Constitution says that all men are equal, and we as Americans have the right to stand up when the government wrongs us and protest. They were exercising that power.
NNNNOOOOO!!! Just when voddie was about to dig into the women throwing around scripture and set them straight, the host cut him off. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!! GO VODDIE!!
"Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's".
The interview fails to connect who is qualified to lead a country in the eyes of its people to who is ordained to lead a church in accordance with its mission. These are separate issues.
Jesus calls those who would lead to serve as he did. If a man does not serve his family and church, he does not lead. Leadership is a responsibility, not a privilege.
Don't agree with all Pastor Baucham said (not in a liberal way, though); I don't agree with what he said about Deborah. Overall, though, still pretty good.
@TheCrushmaster So you don't believe Isaiah was a prophet & therefore was wrong about the notion that women leading nations was a judgment against those nations? Or is it something else about Voddie's idea of Deb you don't agree with. Thanks for your reply :)
@evethezealot Oh, no, I believe women in politics and such is wrong. I just question Deborah's standing; that is, if she was really a judge, and things like that.
ouch ..she butchered the text and he nailed her for it ..People want to hear what they wanna hear Voddie does a great job of explaining the scriptures for anyone who is curious he teaches on this very topic and it's here on you tube..as well as why the bible is true ..some great teachings and lastly ..what is wrong with the world" where he slams the door on peoples reaction as to why god seems unjust or unfair or unable ..unbelievably clear and insightful teaching.invaluable
6:35 Yes Voddie!!! Staying true to your faith is something much needed in the world today with the rise of Atheism. If we all started misreading or warping the Bible to appease opponents or to fit in with social norms the Christian faith would disappear rapidly. Thank God that this is not the case, and many are willing to stand up and be counted as a "herald of the Gospel of Truth"! AMEN
I believe the reason Sarah Palin 'may' become the next pres, is most men are getting wussy: Deborah became a judge for the SAME REASON in ancient Israel--wussy uneducated men and over educated, over-tired women!!
VODDIE MY MAN!!! Oh how encouraging it is to see great MEN of GOD stand firmly on His Word and not worry about reputation, fame, or about what others want to hear but rather what they NEED to hear.
So if there are more woman on earth then men and men can only have one wife what do the single women do..???...I guess getting an education and ptovifing for themselves is to much for this useless uncle tom to understand...
There's plenty of men, don't you worry about that. You're assuming that one day there's going to be this poor, lonely female walking around trying to find a husband and can't because every male on earth is married.. fat chance.
IF, however, that day comes, I'm sure God Himself will make an exception for that particular woman. Don't hold your breath though.
@IWrapMyOwnTurban There's more women then men..that has been the case for centuries..The point that you missed is that women can't wait around for a man to take care of them..Therefore they have to be different then the "girls" that Voodie wants women to be....Independent and in control of their lives...
@freein2339 Just because there are more women than men doesn't mean that they have to go out and be independent. Why not stay home? It's not just a women thing, its a man thing too. Fathers need to support their family and be the leaders of their home. Girls need to stay home until they're found, they shouldn't be the ones hunting for men. If everyone did what God asks, you wouldn't have the problem of women trying to do the mans job of supporting their family. This mess is just a result of sin.
@IWrapMyOwnTurban I merely state facts you idiot....and unlike you I have no problem finding women...and I show them respect ..something that you could never do...
@freein2339 By the way, I bet you more than 60% of the lonely "women" on the online dating services are 12 year old boys, pedos, or bots. And as I mentioned earlier, it is NOT a woman's job to find a husband. It's the other way around. God had it right the first time. Even in the animal kingdom, the male looks for the female no matter what creature it is. Animals always do the right thing, they don't have negative influences like humans do. Let's learn a lesson or two from them shall we?
She should not in this situation submit if he wants her to take a leadership role. If someone in authority commands you to sin (Mr. Palin telling mrs. Palin to go be in our government which is clearly forbidden in the bible) She is to RESPECTFULLY disobey him. Does that make sense?
Voddie destroyed that liberal chick, and that's why the CNN lady shut it down towards the end. Dr. Baucham is such a stud we need more men like him in the church.
to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.
When the pastor did an interpretation of this text it sounded- like hes saying according to scripture women are not allowed to work out side of the home (to bring income and help the family)
Is this a right interpretation or is it false? explain pls
Titus 2:4 - 5 (KJV) 4That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
If you look up the actual Greek word for “keeper of the home” it translates
οἰκουρός
oikouros
oy-koo-ros'
From G3624 and οὖρος ouros (a guard; be “ware”); a stayer at home, that is, domestically inclined (a “good housekeeper”):—keeper at home.
We need more pastors like that. We ( Christians ) are not here in this world to adapt Bible to the society. We are ambassors, we follow directions from our King.
I am sorry to keep posting comments, but I find it so funny (literally) how hypocritical that "christian" woman sounds as she tries to twist scripture to fit her point of view lol! Yahuwah (God) help us!
Wow man voddie man! All Glory to Yahuwah (God). Voddie truly stands for truth. This other lady was culture sensitive and was caught twisting scripture to fit her point of view! Its funny also how they tried to set voddie up with 2 women in this interview and 1 man! Voddie continue to seek Yahuwah man! Good stuff!
Voddie is incredible! He is not afraid to tell exactly what the scriptures say even if he gets the heat. I'm a women and I love the message that Dr. Baucham is not afraid to speak.
The voice of feminism says: "You submit to me God. God....You submit to my will." We are a depraved people. God give us mercy. Voddie did something rare in this interview. He honored God.
If God had really intended for women to assume leadership roles in the Church, then why on earth did he not point any females as Apostles? He slapped Jewish racism in the face by giving Samaritans and Romans the Spirit. Why not generate another example to put "sexism" (falsely so called, because Baucham would never suggest that a woman is somehow inherently less human or less moral) to shame? The most parsimonious explanation is that men *only* are called to lead.
It is truly sad you must claim to be a Christian to receive any kind of backing in this country. I think we should go back to the days where rationalism mattered in politics not a belief in an invisible Jewish space zombie.
@anonazero Please list any specific ignorances i have said? "Jewish Space Zombie"? Well Jesus is Jewish, i guess i could say cosmic, will that make you feel better? and he came back from the dead which makes him a zombie. And please name one politician who isn't Judea-Christian?
@anonazero Yes, well you would be correct in the 19th century however the term dead has been redefined medically and no longer means cardiac arrest. Please understand what you may be reffering to fully before you post. Thanks ;)
@anonazero I see you step down to the lengths of not being able to uphold a rational argument and can only result to insults as a final means to try to show you have any intelligence at all. Im sorry you feel that thinking is wrong and insults will help your argument in any way possible. If you have anything intelligent to say I'd love to debate you about it however i dont like to talk in a childish manner.
@TBRAMPAGE your initial comment suggests that this country was formed and had its best years detached from christianity when the truth is that the primary reason blacks are free and women can vote and poor people can read is because christians stood up and said "that isn't right we should do something about this". that isn't even touching on the fact that almost every one of our nations forefathers were christian. what someone believes directly impacts how they respond to situations. ignorance.
@anonazero And whatever right wind conspirator told you Barack Obama isn't a christian was wrong in fact he belongs to a church (And no, he no longer belongs to the church of Jeremiah Wright). Please once again have a grasp of this beautiful thing called reality.
@TBRAMPAGE i dont need anyone to tell me that obama is not a brother in christ i know what he believes because i see how he operates. the problem here isn' t my perspective, but rather, a tremendous amount of ignorance on your behalf for both the way politics have always worked since the foundation of the world and the what it actually means to be a christian. going to a church does not make a person a christian. hence my comment about your ignorance being so massive its visible from space.
LOL! That news anchor did a great job of wrapping that discussion up. And I have to commend Rev Baucham for his uncompromising defense of God's Word. That was so refreshing!
Voddie, tell them to wear burkas.

He didn't answer that question.
NYTNinAmerica 7 months ago
@NYTNinAmerica Deborah was a sign of judgement because God did not find a single capable man to do the job. The men in power were so incompetent that a woman had to do their job. That is judgement on the men of Israel.
cds27cds 6 months ago
@cds27cds, there is one problem with your statement: It is found NOWHERE in scripture.
Nowhere in scripture does it state or imply that Deborah was a sign of judgment. In fact, Deborah was a sign of God's BLESSING. Why? Because Judges 2 shows how God raised up the Judge to deliver and lead them back to righteousness. So the Judge was NOT a curse.
Further, if what you say is true about all the men being so incompetent, then it seems to me that EVERY JUDGE WOULD HAVE BEEN A WOMAN.
NYTNinAmerica 6 months ago
@NYTNinAmerica look in Isaiah 3 biblical basis right there...he even brings it up in the video.
Crossx39 6 months ago
@Crossx39, I don't understand why people keep referring to Isaiah 3. Isaiah describes events of the period c. 778– a. 732 and has NOTHING TO DO with the period of the Judges (which events occurred during the period c. 1450– c. 1120). NOWHERE in Isaiah 3 does it say that Deborah's rule was a sign of judgment. It's NOT in the text.
Why do you not understand that?
NYTNinAmerica 6 months ago
@NYTNinAmerica lol..and why do you not understand that Isaiah 3 isnt just describing one time period. Deborah's rule was a sign of judgment...cuz it meant that the Deborah was more of a man than the men of Israel at that time...
Crossx39 5 months ago
Don't see what's so funny...
Also, I don't understand why you keep making claims for which you have absolutely no evidence. There is NO EVIDENCE IN SCRIPTURE that Deborah's rule was a "sign of judgment". And continuing to say that does not make it true.
NYTNinAmerica 5 months ago
@NYTNinAmerica its funny that cant see whats right in front of you. lol..i just used Isaiah 3 as my evidence its about what a nation is like when under judgment from G-D as Dr. Baucham said one of those things are that a woman rules over men(cuz men stopped being men)...and you continuing to say its not true without giving a shred of evidence is rather sad.
Crossx39 4 months ago
@Crossx39, it's funny that you're still trying to argue over this foolishness...
You quoted Isaiah 3's reference to women ruling over the nation as evidence of a nation being "under judgment". And in response, I'm saying to you that if that were true, then ALL of the Judges would have been women. In Judges, the people were constantly in rebellion. But when God would raise up a Judge, the people would repent and turn back to God.
So answer the question: Why weren't ALL the Judges women?
NYTNinAmerica 4 months ago
@NYTNinAmerica argue? no i'm just stating the facts that i know to be true.as i'm sure you are too... Now the only reason there was only one woman judge was because(at the time of God picking judges) there wasnt any "real men" who feared the Lord.. He pick a woman judge to shame the men back into obedience......the other times all was needed was Godly man to led the others to action ..nether of us is going to change our minds..so lets say we agree to disagree.
Crossx39 4 months ago
@Crossx39, you don't seem to understand erroneous your reasoning is:
▪ You said, "the only reason there was only one woman judge was because...there wasnt any "real men" who feared the Lord."
▪ Now the problem -- as pointed out numerous times now -- is you have NO EVIDENCE supporting your claim. We are just to accept this as true simply because you say so.
▪ You have NO AUTHORITY to determine God's reasoning for a thing, except it is stated or implied IN SCRIPTURE.
Do you now understand?
NYTNinAmerica 4 months ago
@NYTNinAmerica i could just take what you just said and use the same against you. i'm taking what i know of scripture here . and you have NO EVIDENCE to say i'm wrong ether... and Nether do YOU have authority to determine God's reasoning ether...But i'm just going of what DR. Baucham said and what i know... but think What BETTER way to shame a nation back to obedience than having a woman telling men what to do.. Judges 4:6-9, Isaiah 3:12(which states how a nation is in its last hours w/o God.)
Crossx39 4 months ago
@Crossx39, Dr. Baucham was wrong, and you're wrong. Not because I say say, but because of what SCRIPTURE says. And that's really all there is to it.
Good day.

@NYTNinAmerica Please quote me 1 scripture that says a women can be a pastor in a church and I'll give you 5 that says she can't. Dr Baucham represented the word of God in it's truest form, he did not add or take anything away. On the other side of the coin, Margret Fienberg clearly miss used Ephesians chpt 5, to make a simple point if your okay with that, then you really need to start evaluating who you stand for (God or man)

salahudeenabduladl 1 month ago
@NYTNinAmerica, I believe Dr. Baucham is absolutely correct in his assessment. I remember quoting the very text in a discussion you and I had concerning women in leadership. You may need to really take a study of the book of Judges, especially Judges 4.
What agenda is he pushing? It seems a God-honoring agenda. Not a politically correct or gender neutral agenda. I, for one, love the idea that there are still men who want to protect us women from having to take the lead.
blessedginger2 6 months ago
@blessedginger2, a "God honoring agenda" should be supported by TRUTH -- not lies, misrepresentation, and error.
Voddie Baucham is NOT correct with regard to his assessment of Deborah's rule as a Judge. What he stated is found NOWHERE in scripture.
And stop telling me to take study of Judges 4, when you know good and well I've already done that. Why else do you think I'm saying what I'm saying? I've examined the text THOROUGHLY, and what Baucham says IS NOT THERE.
NYTNinAmerica 6 months ago
@NYTNinAmerica Okay, Bro. I respect you and your views. We are just going to have to disagree on this one. Peace
blessedginger2 6 months ago
@blessedginger2, well I guess we're back where we started then. I respect you as well, but neither one of our "views" matters. What matters is what scripture clearly and consistently shows. I have nothing personal against Voddie Baucham, and I have no doubt that he is a well-educated and well-qualified pastor/teacher. But what he said differs with what is in scripture. And that is truth we must face and accept -- not just simply "agree to disagree". That does not honor God.
NYTNinAmerica 6 months ago
@NYTNinAmerica Oh, okay. If NYTN interprets the scripture a certain way, then that settles it. I disagree with YOU thinking that the scripture "clearly and consistently" shows that it's God's will for a woman to lead a man. Am I required to defer to your understanding of scripture and agree to it as "TRUTH"?
So can we agree that you and/or I could be wrong? If so, we agree that you and I disagree with the interpretation of this scripture. Peace.
blessedginger2 6 months ago
@blessedginger2 No NYTN is 100% wrong and scripture is right, the only way u get the doctrine she/he is preaching is by reading it into the text. Dr Baucham identified the crook for what it is, which is culture. The bible never says women R lower then men in any way, it clearly does explain that men are assigned a higher office. Example of higher office: Even though Barack Obama is president does that mean he's better then us? No, it simply means he just has more responsibility.

If you know in your heart that such discrimination is wrong, might I suggest you rethink the whole Bible and Christianity thing?
billymagfhloinn 1 year ago
@billymagfhloinn descrimination against gays? sorry homosexuals that is. The bible is against sin and since homosexuality is a sin, the bible is against it.
The bible doesnt promote sexism it promotes order. Fact is, this world would be better if people got married and wives took care of their homes first. However if you read Proverbs 31, wives did work to help the family. So scripure is not against women working but the home cannot be sacrficed for gains sake.
prn72271 11 months ago
@prn72271 The Bible is also against shellfish, haircuts and poly-cotton blends. How dreadfully sinful!
Not against genocide or slavery though. Funny that, eh?
billymagfhloinn 11 months ago
@billymagfhloinn the law was for the jews you can eat what you want.
genocide and slavery - its true that wicked nations were punished by God but that can be said for own people.
Lets suppose you have prisoners working on the chain gang, would you call them slaves? its more like servants.
Also, let it be known that biblical slavery on a whole was not like how it was for Africans in the US etc, that not the concept at all. Most slaves were also free to leave after 7 years
prn72271 11 months ago
@prn72271
Jesus, u sound like a holocaust denier. Do you honestly think the slaves were ok with it?
What on earth makes u think the slaves were like chain gangs. They were SLAVES, God said so.
What about slaves who werent free after 7 years.
Can you seriously defend this, the rape of innocent virgins as the spoils of war:
'Now kill all the boys and all the women who have slept with a man. Only the young girls who are virgins may live; you may keep them for yourselves.'
(Numbers 31:7-18 NLT)
billymagfhloinn 11 months ago
@billymagfhloinn slavery was due to punishment or poverty, even the Children of Israel were killed and enslaved. You may think this is crazy but if a wicked nation continued in wickedness, wickedness would happen to them. America dropped a H Borm on Japan and many people think it great.
The bible is against rape, so from that i deduce that it not as you say. I am sure of that.
prn72271 10 months ago
@prn72271 Why do you say the Bible is against rape when clearly it is not?
Do you doubt the word of your own god? What part of Numbers 31:15-18 is against rape?
Why do you hate and deny the truth of your own sacred text?

CNN and the pastor are missing a point here. They are confusing two different places of leadership. Church leadership is under different Biblical guidelines than for leaders in our communities, schools and government. Rules for the one are not rules for the other. God says men and women are equal in His sight, but he has laid out different roles. Unfortunately our interpretation of values are too influenced by world, putting to much value in leadership/power roles that are traditionally male.

Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.

Men never "have" to be slaves to one another women dont "have" to cook

get back in the cotton field there voddie!!
1outofone 1 year ago
@1outofone Firstly, your tone is all wrong. If you disagree with someone, it ought to be done respectfully. Second, you're taking that verse out of context. That very verse goes on to say how being a hard worker can be a powerful witness to your "master." Also, what the Bible refers to here as slavery is actually servitude, completely different from the type of slavery we're used to reading about in our history books. Servitude in Biblical times was a means of paying off a debt.
tHeEtHmAn18 1 year ago
@tHeEtHmAn18 yes but also there were slaves as in the slavery trade also.
these were often prisoners of war etc...
and as far as respect goes what is disrespectful? because a black man is told to go back to the cotton field? yet is perfectly acceptable for him to tell a woman to get back into the kitchen?
if we are to hold to the "exact wording" of the scriptures of Paul then voddie would still be riding in the back of the bus or couldn't vote anyway Romans 13:1-6
1outofone 1 year ago
@1outofone In case you forgot, God rescued the Israelites from slavery. It was then at the word slavery took on a different meaning. Also, you seem to be disregarding the fact that you told Voddie to "bite" you. And Voddie never said that a woman's place is in the kitchen. The woman in the video was misquoting Ephesians. She made it sound as if the woman is to reign supreme, whereas marriages should be equal. Marriages are supposed to represent Jesus's relationship with his people, or "bride."
tHeEtHmAn18 1 year ago
@tHeEtHmAn18 no I am pretty sure he said women belong at home and not the workplace. ""keeper of the house""
so again voddie needs to submit to romans 13, find a masa, and give up his seat to white men and women , and his wife also cannot vote.
so like I said he cant have it both ways.
either he reverts back to being a good ole "nig" or he needs to take the whole of scripture. bottom line is these arrogant men think that they take one verse out and make a statement and disregard the rest.yes sa
1outofone 1 year ago
@tHeEtHmAn18 I totally agree ...although white men used the bible to re-inforce slavery...biblical slavery and servitude wasn't very different and God would never want the worship of money, lack of love, and evil punishment that American Slavery introduced to be condoned by scripture..proves men can use the bible any way they choose to justify pure evil
dontaewinslow 1 year ago
@dontaewinslow well how about the fact of Romans 13 if we are going to take scripture and say females stay home, be quiet in church ask your husbands, then we need to implement the whole of scripture.
vodie needs to understand that you cant have it both ways either he gives up his rights.
so which is it? mlk& rosa parks were going against romans 13!

@1outofone "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal." In response to your comment about MLK and Rosa Parks, they weren't violating the law. Not really. Jesus calls those who would lead to serve as he did. If a man does not serve his family and church, he does not lead. Leadership is a responsibility, not a privilege.

@IWrapMyOwnTurban There's more women then men..that has been the case for centuries..The point that you missed is that women can't wait around for a man to take care of them..Therefore they have to be different then the "girls" that Voodie wants women to be....Independent and in control of their lives...
freein2339 1 year ago
@freein2339 Just because there are more women than men doesn't mean that they have to go out and be independent. Why not stay home? It's not just a women thing, its a man thing too. Fathers need to support their family and be the leaders of their home. Girls need to stay home until they're found, they shouldn't be the ones hunting for men. If everyone did what God asks, you wouldn't have the problem of women trying to do the mans job of supporting their family. This mess is just a result of sin.

@freein2339 Good defense bud. Good luck trying to find your mate via online dating services.

@IWrapMyOwnTurban I merely state facts you idiot....and unlike you I have no problem finding women...and I show them respect ..something that you could never do...
freein2339 1 year ago
@IWrapMyOwnTurban "Girls need to stay home until they're found,"
You are a complete idiot....
freein2339 1 year ago
@IWrapMyOwnTurban By the way , you can check any online dating service and see thousands of "lonely" women trying to find a husband.....
freein2339 1 year ago
@freein2339 By the way, I bet you more than 60% of the lonely "women" on the online dating services are 12 year old boys, pedos, or bots. And as I mentioned earlier, it is NOT a woman's job to find a husband. It's the other way around. God had it right the first time. Even in the animal kingdom, the male looks for the female no matter what creature it is. Animals always do the right thing, they don't have negative influences like humans do. Let's learn a lesson or two from them shall we?
IWrapMyOwnTurban 1 year ago
It's not sexism. It's God's will. Men and women have different roles.

My man Voddie, straight preachin' truth on CNN! Awesome, that woman was extremely incorrect!
sirdanmcman 1 year ago
@quemacha
She should not in this situation submit if he wants her to take a leadership role. If someone in authority commands you to sin (Mr. Palin telling mrs. Palin to go be in our government which is clearly forbidden in the bible) She is to RESPECTFULLY disobey him. Does that make sense?
TheSkiboy95 1 year ago
Voddie destroyed that liberal chick, and that's why the CNN lady shut it down towards the end. Dr. Baucham is such a stud we need more men like him in the church.

completely agrees with Voddie's views.

Titus 2:5
to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.

TBRAMPAGE 1 year ago
@TBRAMPAGE the ignorance of that statement is simply unbelievable.
anonazero 1 year ago
@anonazero Please list any specific ignorances i have said? "Jewish Space Zombie"? Well Jesus is Jewish, i guess i could say cosmic, will that make you feel better? and he came back from the dead which makes him a zombie. And please name one politician who isn't Judea-Christian?
TBRAMPAGE 1 year ago
@TBRAMPAGE you don't believe that everyone who dies and comes back is a zombie. clue: defibrillators.
politician who is not a christian: president obama
anonazero 1 year ago
@anonazero Yes, well you would be correct in the 19th century however the term dead has been redefined medically and no longer means cardiac arrest. Please understand what you may be reffering to fully before you post. Thanks ;)
TBRAMPAGE 1 year ago
@TBRAMPAGE sorry, i thought i was talking to a person. my mistake.
anonazero 1 year ago
@anonazero I see you step down to the lengths of not being able to uphold a rational argument and can only result to insults as a final means to try to show you have any intelligence at all. Im sorry you feel that thinking is wrong and insults will help your argument in any way possible. If you have anything intelligent to say I'd love to debate you about it however i dont like to talk in a childish manner.
TBRAMPAGE 1 year ago
@TBRAMPAGE your initial comment suggests that this country was formed and had its best years detached from christianity when the truth is that the primary reason blacks are free and women can vote and poor people can read is because christians stood up and said "that isn't right we should do something about this". that isn't even touching on the fact that almost every one of our nations forefathers were christian. what someone believes directly impacts how they respond to situations. ignorance.
anonazero 1 year ago
@anonazero And whatever right wind conspirator told you Barack Obama isn't a christian was wrong in fact he belongs to a church (And no, he no longer belongs to the church of Jeremiah Wright). Please once again have a grasp of this beautiful thing called reality.
TBRAMPAGE 1 year ago
@TBRAMPAGE i dont need anyone to tell me that obama is not a brother in christ i know what he believes because i see how he operates. the problem here isn' t my perspective, but rather, a tremendous amount of ignorance on your behalf for both the way politics have always worked since the foundation of the world and the what it actually means to be a christian. going to a church does not make a person a christian. hence my comment about your ignorance being so massive its visible from space.
anonazero 1 year ago
@CFonSecondLife So to understand scripture you have to be a christian. Some of the most brilliant minds on religions arent christian.
