I saw the ad for this vehicle while flipping through a duPont Registry, So being very curious I went to their site to check it out & dream a little... Oh Well, What I saw wasn't very impressive at all & there were no real vehicles even on "Their Own" website:( Something Stinks Here...
there are people with dreams but there are pepople who lies. Those performance numbers are a lie. People should be arested trying to sell something thar is not.
Look, it's great in concept, if seemingly unrealistic. Reality is though, until there's at least a photograph of one (as opposed to the computer imaging) this is all an elaborate fantasy.
Used to work for this company, scfitch? Sorry, don't buy that.
Granted everyone has to start somewhere. The more likely scenario is that they've built a few models and are looking to secure a contract with a wealthy sponsor or buyer before going all commercial. Without that contract, they may as well close up shop, these'll end up being collector's items.
This vehicle is BS, imaginative but no foundation for real production, good ideas in theory or for a comic book. (Shadowhawk is the name of a comic book character, this is probably some geeks fantasy) but with no real engineering basis. Obvious things were over looked.
@NastyJas they did advertise in Robb Report magazine so if they are serious enough to piss that much money away in advertising it can't be pure BS. I still want to see a real picture of one, however.
1st the choice of titanium as the chassis material is not happening, titanium does have a high tensile strength but it is very brittle, it would not last very long it would develop cracks at the welds & also become compromises at any spot that gets damage. This is why this material is not used for application such as this not to mention that titanium must be welded in an oxygen free environment so to build something of this scale would not be realistic.
@NastyJas as for titanium welding, thats what purging and shielding gases are for. same with chrome, stainless, or anything else for that matter that isnt a104/a105/a333 carbon. in pipeline, you always have to dam downstream of the weld, purge the pipe with a constant flush of argon, and have a purge on the tortch.
2nd the suspension design would not allow the vehicle to actually have suspension, it may raise up and down but it wouldnt be able to absorb impact like a traditional design. no suspention.
3rd the drive system would be so complicated that it wouldn't be very reliable. & the output rating are BS, diesel motors of those specs typically produce hp rating half of what torque output is and to generate numbers that high once again make this vehicle a time bomb, not to mention there's no way its passing emission standards with figures like that. The vehicle size alone wouldn't even provide enough room for the drive train running gear ect. and hydrolics needed to operate that spider crap.
Honestly, this thing looks hella fake. I did a little research and even the ones for sale dont have any pictures or anything its purely computer graphics. I believe its real... but where'z the proof? It'z almost like believing bigfoot is real haha. Some people say thay have seen it, but wherez the real proof of this? Get Real.
I've heard that this goes for a few million. One fantastic competitor for a lot less would be a bowler nemesis. and what would you use this for can i get a scenario?
If this thing is so great and they are trying to sell it for so much money, why is thier website and all thier graphics so lame. You would think that they would want a little bit better marketing for a car of this caliber. I believe that it is a real vehicle but wouldn't you want to create a more quality image for you company. And why no real pictures or video of the car? Thats what I want to know?
bgiese, if you look at most vehicle advertising a little closer, it is usually the more entry level, more disposable cars with the flashy eye candy for advertising. More refined, higher quality vehicles do not need the advertising or flash due to maintaining upmost exclusivity! Best Regards!
@bgiese trust me.. this vehicle is going to be SICK! I used to work for the company that is building this vehicle. its a small company bro it takes alot of money to build this vehicle, just be patient. when its finally built.. its going to be amazing!
@bgiese The car is supposedly going into production in late 2011 (now?) and it is only made when requested, but other than that I am also confused as to why.
Lol seriously. I am someone who doesn't believe it's a real vehicle.
This thing looks incredibly heavy, it has independant hydraulic arms for each wheel, yet they claim it does 0-100 4.2 seconds, has a topspeed of 208mph and runs on diesel.
(2 of 2) The first five client vehicles start at one million dollars and will roll out in 2011. Starting in 2012, there will be one vehicle built every month. The cost and production numbers are designed to create rarity for the buyer. Once the first client vehicles are completed, we will invite car magazines, television companies and other special guests for a special celebration. Just like the other supercars, we have a full-size showroom model that qualified clients can visit and see.
(1 of 2) I got an email from Mr. Richards @ ShadowHawk. Apparently, the CGI pictures where created so the initial 5 buyers can get a glimpse of what they're buying. At a starting price of $1Million USD, I don't blame them. They're are two versions available, a 2 door 2 seat, and a 4 door 4 seat. They hava a touch screen display, data hookups and dual climate controls for each occupant. Each screen display show any of the vehicles onboard cameras or browse the internet thru a satellite uplink.
It is strange, though. Why don't they have a video of a "real one" in actual driving mode. Seeing the performance in action would be a selling point. It's not like they have a well established reputation like Ferrari or Bently, which warrants purchasing sight unseen. I find "actual" videos (or photos) of this vehicle, other than the CGI promotional video.
Oh, the vehicle is real. It has no real military application. The body/cab is made of titanium so it can "deflect" small arms fire. It's not really armored, bullet proof, bomb proof, or IED proof. Therefore, it has no real military value. I guess it can be reinforced and can be a HumVee replacment. But the cost is too great. It's definitely a "Jay Leno" toy. Much too expensive for the average Joe... or the above average Joe. LOL. They produce only 1 per month.
you should read the article, it is not computer generated, it is real all terrain vehicle with sport car speed, any military can use it, chassis, suspension amongst other things are patented
It's not bad. Read all the information on their website and did a lot of research. Not bad at all. But, they could be a little more informative.
