  • Dear youtube,

My heterosexual parents did a great job raising me!

    Best regards,

    45% of American families

  • Every study ever done on gay versus straight families show there is practically no difference between any coupling, but if you want to split hairs, lesbians do a slightly better job raising children then gay men or heterosexual couples. This probably has to do with women in general paying more attention to the children then men, but like i said its practically a tie between gay male, straight and lesbian parenting.

  • "i checked the study out." (reaches for drink...)

  • god i love al franken. makes me so proud to be a minnesotan.

  • like a boss

  • @quinnmcguee You are forgetting this: after these babies are born, the same conservative christians also revel in condemning them for being sinners doomed to hell, stunt their mental growth with dogmatic nonsense, and use them to spread their religious disease to retard the human race.

  • The jock guy is very annoying. Just show Franken, who is all anyone wants to hear.

  • @quinnmcguee Mhm your right sir...

  • I do not need Sam Seder (whoever the fuck that is) repeating what I clearly heard Franken say himself. What a Twink!

  • Good points that could have been made in 2 mins.

  • I don’t like gays but have stated that it is none of my business who sleeps with whom.

It is not even any of the church’s business. The bible says “judge not less you be judge wanting”. Meaning it is not any of hypocrites that call themselves -- preacher, ministers, priests, fathers, pastor, vicar, parson, rector or reverend job it is GOD’s job, most certainly not the United States of America job.

  • @samten10a you dont like gays? all gays? lesbians too? ALL OF THEM? wow

  • As much as I hate defend this jackass, I really doubt that Minnery was lying. I suspect that he just didn't fathom the possibility that the study's definition of "nuclear family" could possibly differ from his own, and that he just didn't do his homework. It doesn't take away from what a buffoon he made himself to be in front of the whole fucking country.

  • I hate when people arrogantly say things like "here's the rub" and then fail horribly.

  • the only public radio is democracy now! with Amy Goodman & Juan Gonzales. How many recitations of its corporate sponsors must "public" radio fans hear before it registers?: "Public" radio is NOT public. Have you fans noticed the steady stream of rightwing talking points on Social Security & Medicare flowing from N"P"R? There's a reason for that. It'll come to you. Social Security is funded by the payroll tax. To reduce its benefits is to steal the money to pay arms manufacturers and mercenaries.

  • @quinnmcguee This is why I call them Pro-birth, not Pro-life.

  • Republicans are thinking: That there Jew is calling that good, god-fearin' Aryan a stupid liar without saying it. That ain't fair. Us Aryans doesn't have chutzpa(said the Bachmann way) like them sneaky Jews.

  • Sam's eyebrows are mesmerizing.

  • Wow. That MPR person clearly buys into to this notion that criticism of your opponents is somehow a problem. The problems with discourse in this country are dishonesty, and arguments based purely on emotion, and not evidence. Franken was perfectly right to correct Minnery, and lay out the evidence and facts.

Minnery was making a completely circular argument in his testimony: children with married parents are happier, so don't let gay couples marry and raise children!

  • Al Franken is awesome. Franken would be a great President or Vice President.

  • Bullies are huge pussies.

  • Perhaps I misheard, but didn't the study define "nuclear" family as being married as well?

  • @lourak in some civilized places that believe in human rights, like what the Constitution says, gay couples can get married

  • @xadam2dudex Let's leave our moralizing off the table for the moment. Yes, I know about gay marriage in some states, but I assumed, perhaps wrongly, that this study took place before gay marriage had been legalized in several states, thus making it a reasonable assumption that heterosexual couples are being referred to. Please correct me if I err, Youtubers.

  • @lourak there have been civil unions for a while now.. also many gay couples have been together longer than the average str8 couple.. I got the impression the study was recently done...anything that comes out of that hate group Focus on the Family can already be assumed to be a lie and or a distortion of the truth or an attempt to do so when not called out on their evil activities

  • The Christian Right is PRO-PERJURY. Lying for Jesus.

  • Ah, Al hurt the little bigot's feelings. So sorry.

  • Bette Midler couldn't've said it better!

  • This makes me think that it would have been much nicer to have Schwetty Balls in congress. That would be nice.

  • to the idiot in the comments:

it's irrelevant to the study and it's definitions how you or webster define nuclear family

only the definition of the study itself is relevant

  • Al Franken for president.

  • Nuclear family is biological - a father, a mother, and children.

Al Frankenfoods is a another dipshit progressive.

How bout he opens up a medical dictionary or a real dictionary - instead of wikipedia.

  • Nuclear family (webster):

A family group consisting of only father, mother, and children.

  • Thank you for lying, may I have another? Hah. That's great.

  • the biggest 'victims' in the world are rich, white old gop-people that watch foxnews

  • @quinnmcguee

Christian Conservatives don't know that their religion is all about acceptance and helping everyone.

-.- Don't know why, since they talk about raping the bible so much.

  • They dish it out so much better than they take it.

  • If Franken was rude, how is it possible to call out on a lie?

  • Al Franken called them on their BS and he wasn't rude about it. People get way too offended these days.

  • Al Franken is awesome.

  • @DrDarkheart I wish he was awesome when it coes to the patriot act. He supports it.

  • It didn't even seem that mean spirited how Franken handled that situation.

  • @FarBeyondSYL it wasn't.. it was just the hypocrisy of right wingers when they get called out on their lies and act like they are being persecuted for not being allowed to lie

  • So Focus on the Family believes NO abortion is ever acceptable, so all these kids are to be brought into the world. I assume if the birth mothers are either not willing or not able to take care of these kids, FotF expects them to put the children up for adoption. Did I miss the part where FotF is out there trying to push every single straight, married couple into adopting a child so that there aren't any children left for gay couples? Or does FotF think it's better a kid has NO parents instead?

  • Public Radio used to be the champion of the left....a voice of reason in an unreasonable world. What happened?

  • That music is great.

  • Al Franken spreading a "rude bomb" all over Thomas Minnery of Focus on the Family!

  • Is that a sound effects board or computer program you have there? Any chance you could have it mate with Stephanie Miller's board and give me the baby? Thank you in advance.

  • Way to splice in the video. You guys are really taking it up notch.

  • ..."Because they're NUTS"

    Sums it ALL UP!!
