I am going to get a Traynor YCV40 within the next week with some graduation money I got. The Traynor is 40 watts and is a tube amp. OH and I also have a cheap little Spectrum amp that's 10 watts but I only play it in my room occassionally.
Oh and by the way, if you get a new amp for cheap I wouldn't suggest a Fender one. They're really clear but they have no personality to them, and they're really trebly. Fender guitars however are real good.

my first guitar was a 20th anniversary Squier stratocaster with humbucking pickups i got from my friend for $30. She's still one of my best guitars in my arsenal even thoug i have the extremely expensive VG Stratocaster with a guitar synth that replicates a Tele, Humbucker Jaguar, and Acoustic guitars as well as change tunings. I can still beat Anyones ass with my Squier.

To the vid, YOU DONT HAVE A DISTORTION PEDAL. its an O.D. switch on the amp. your holding the pick wrong. you make ALOT of noise when you slide. you keep playing the same notes over and over again. i wasted 2 minutes and 9 seconds of my life watching this crap.
What some people don't understand is that cheap guitars can sometimes get certain funky, gritty, or unusual tones which sound perfect for some kinds of music.

So, what I did was get a Gibson Les Paul Standard, and noticed even more. So, I went in my bedroom one day, tried to play with it, and it busted a fuckin string. So you know what I did? I SMASHED DAT SHIT! I will never use any beginner fenders again.
F-50 w/ floyd rose and let me say that starcasters are shit compared to almost any other mediocre guitar, and paranoid sounds a lot better on the 12th fret on the E string

I some how got my fender starcaster to sound distortion with no base, a flanger pedal, and by switching that knob it has to change the sounds to the top part. I recomend this guitar. It is a very good guitar.

If nobody else noticed, that was Paranoid and Rock You Like A Hurricane. And I have the same guitar with a black body and maple neck. Its a decent starter, but what I want to get is an Gibson SG
i have the same guitar as you but in red. you must have a different amp as me because mine doesnt even have a effects peddle input. the guitar sucks. you cant even play pinch harmonics with it.
all you do is get one cable, plug it into your pedal, plug the same wire into the same place where you normaly plug your guitar and get a 2nd cable to connect the pedal and guitar.
Also, the pedal input is incorrect. You can have FX Loops on the back of the amplifier to put in Modulation effects so they are not affected by the amps gain.
i have the same guitar and it blows nuts. as i learned more about guitars i figured how much it sucked. i hate the sound so much and hopefully i get an Epiphone SG this summer.
They might be assembled here but the parts are from asia. I know for a fact, because ive taken apart 3 different starcasters. But still, if theyre set up right, there a great guitar. :]

The Starcaster, however, is a Chinese made Wal-Mart cheapie with a fake-ass Fender sticker on it, that is made and sold cheaply to satisfy Guitar Hero n00bz.
Dude I have that guitar but next time if you do an demo do something besids power chords....and turn gaun up. The amp that comes with this guitar isnt that bad.
I had one of these for a short while. I wasn't too crazy about the neck, but I was surprised at how nice the pickups sounded. This is a really nice guitar for beginners, but once you get your hands on a real strat, you'll be astounded.

Clean tone is very bad, it looks like the strings are very, very old.
Pickups are not sensitive enough, and they sound too plastic.. 300+ bucks Squiers are much better, definitely.

i have the same guitar as you but in red. you must have a different amp as me because mine doesnt even have a effects peddle input. the guitar sucks. you cant even play pinch harmonics with it.

you dont need a pedal input..
all you do is get one cable, plug it into your pedal, plug the same wire into the same place where you normaly plug your guitar and get a 2nd cable to connect the pedal and guitar.

Also, the pedal input is incorrect. You can have FX Loops on the back of the amplifier to put in Modulation effects so they are not affected by the amps gain.

However, theyre not made in the US.
They might be assembled here but the parts are from asia. I know for a fact, because ive taken apart 3 different starcasters. But still, if theyre set up right, there a great guitar. :]

Bud, to start with, most of them are in Korea, and theyre perfect mod guitars, and if theyre set up right, there just as good as Squier strats.

The Strat is a beautifully made, professional quality, handmade instrument, using the finest woods and materials. Fenders among the finest electric guitars known to man.
The Starcaster, however, is a Chinese made Wal-Mart cheapie with a fake-ass Fender sticker on it, that is made and sold cheaply to satisfy Guitar Hero n00bz.

Dude I have that guitar but next time if you do an demo do something besids power chords....and turn gaun up. The amp that comes with this guitar isnt that bad.

I had one of these for a short while. I wasn't too crazy about the neck, but I was surprised at how nice the pickups sounded. This is a really nice guitar for beginners, but once you get your hands on a real strat, you'll be astounded.
