  • our drill team spins m1903's. probly alot more fun to spin a m1.

  • That wouldn't happen to be SVHS would it?

  • @JrTerrorist hahaahahah smithson valley? ahahah yeah it is! man it was such a long time ago! did you go to high school there?

  • @commanderortega Its actually my senior year there. I'm a company commander in the rotc unit there. I saw Ortega in your profile name. You wouldn't happen to be related to Mike?

  • @JrTerrorist hmm no bud....maybe somewhere up the family tree! lol

  • Excellent bearing! Nice job!

  • He's a bit rusty. You're not supposed to watch your weapon on most of those movements.

  • @c1kabar1 ahahahaah you are completely right, actually this video wasnt supposed to be anything big, i just did it for fun while one of my friends recorded it, i mean i actually dropped it in the middle of the routine, so i uploaded it just for fun, nothing else. If i wouldve been in uniform, then it wouldve been a whole different thing! aahhahahah

  • Sorry brother, if that came across the wrong way. Excellent job in any case. I neglected to tell you that. I thought, perhaps, you were an alumni recalling days on the grinder. Keep up the great work out there in Aggieland. WHOOOOOP!

  • He's a bit rusty. You're not supposed to watch you weapon on most of those movements.

  • that's a 9.8 pound rifle. We don't use 3 pound bs rifles.

  • is that a 3 pound rifle or a 9.8 pound rifle? on our armed drill team we used 9.8 pound rifles.

  • nothing ive never seen b4

  • @applesauceprod yeah i know, not trying to prove anything. Way better guys out there than me.

  • @Armed4Life07 you are right, but when you are part of a national team known for its amazing routines and the way the train, it makes you a better spinner. Not to insult, but it is easy to say stuff when you havent done anything. Spinning in high school is not something impossible, but when you get to college and you are part of something bigger than yourself, then it means something else, and until you get to that place, you cant understand what i mean, maybe you can imagine it, but thats it.

  • @commanderortega i am not saying i am the greatest spinner, and theres definitely a million people better than me, but if you see the results, TAMU was behing pretty much everything, all the years that i was in college we won every year.

  • simple stuff i can do the helicopter on my back

  • @josekillerz1 good for you. I can do it too, i did it when i was a sophomore in high school in 03. I dont have a video to show it, but i can do the helicopter laying down and throw it up in the air while lying down and catch it. I know that for some good spinners the moves in the video are not that complicated, but then i again it was just for fun and not a competition, if you read the description

  • but also, laying on your back doing a helicopter doesnt count for anything when you do college ROTC, at all, and if you get to do college ROTC and if you want to be the best, it is not so much about how cool/acrobatic moves that you might be able to do, but how precise, how much snap and how the team looks overall, not individually. Thats why Texas A&M University has the best drill team in the nation, national champs every year with brand new freshmen every year.

  • @commanderortega

Placements don't = talent. Plus last time I checked, Norwhich demolished the last 2 Tulanes meets :P

  • @commanderortega no offense dude but that shit wasn't very precise. you look like your marching with a stick up your bum and. im pretty sure norwich wins more competitions than A&M. ps im better.

  • @31heroes yeah its not precise because i am not in a competition, its just for fun, read the description, i am not trying to prove that i am superior in any way, sometimes you just do stuff for fun, i drop the rifle, i am not wearing a uniform, its very obvious i am not trying to prove anything, and A&M is champion since the 40s, way before you or your parents were born, so respect that.

  • boring

  • nice jobl DAMN those were fast...

  • sweeet

  • how long have you been spinning?

  • @biggz301 I did rifle spinning for about 5 years and some months. I enjoyed it a lot! so you guys that still do it, get all they joy out of it while you can!!

  • (coming from a corporal in JROTC) are those doubles or triples at 1:30?

  • @orpheusreclaimer ahh yes those are doubles. If they would`ve been triples it would have taken a little longer to catch the rifles, and probably a little higher in order to let the rifle spin one third time, and more strenght to lift it without using your knees as a catapult to launch the rifle higher, if that somehow makes sense.

  • @commanderortega aw man, its ironic I asked because I caught my first triple today accidentally. but it was not clean like the doubles at 1:30.

you are a little too good :)

  • @commanderortega :D i caught my first double throwback today

  • @orpheusreclaimer congratulations my friend, i always got very excited when i would do a new move that i had been practicing over and over to do it!!! miss those good times

  • How much did the rifle you were using weigh?

  • Hmm i think its about 9 pounds or so. Its not the plastic ones that weigh like 5 pounds. You can kinda tell by the noise, sometimes when they are so light, you cant hear the weight of the rifle hitting your hands, if that kinda makes sense.

  • Good to see the Drill Team is back at it.

A Bade, FDT 93(1989-1990) Texas State, Mardi Gras Champs

  • Yes sir, i was only glad, sounds selfish but it is the truth, that the time was back by the time i attended A&M, and its always nice to hear former FDT members are out in the world remembering the good old days of the hounds on you. It was one of the best experiences ive ever had, and i think you agree with me sir. Best of luck in everything. FDT 09

  • Damn! This guy is good! I'm in NJROTC and I'm in the drill team and I'm good in all but some of these spins are insane lol Good job!

  • Thank you, i guess after 5 years of spinning must at least be worth something!!! but there are some really really amazing people that even do this as their job, so imagine that, getting paid to do drill, i am definitely down for that!!, but anyways, keep practicing and practice after practice, if you have time during lunch time or after school spend some extra time spinning, and i promise you will be better, dont let the rifle control you, you take control of it.

  • that was tight, I command my own armed drill team and we do many of the spins you do

  • Yeah, commanding a team is always a challenge and i enjoyed it while i was in high school, and if you continue to do it in college if you choose to do so, dont worry if you are not the commander, worry about looking good with the team, because thats the most important thing in a team: each member. Hope you guys do good things while you command your team and good luck!!

  • That was pretty nice dude. I do armed team at my highschool and I only wish I could do some of that stuff XD haha. Much respect

  • thanks my friend, and even though i really love drill, there is a lot of really amazing people outhere. All you have to do is practice and really want to be the best, dont be afraid of hitting yourself with the rifle, i promise you WILL get hurt, so get that out of the way and if it hurts to do something, you are probably doing it right!!! good luck with your team and keep practicing my friend!!

  • Ummm yes the rifles at my school weigh 14 1/2 lbs... is a 1902 summerwood... nubs!

Annnnddddd commanderortega its not a "double spin" its called the hurricane..

  • Well, all over the states its called different, and i dont think it is a matter of whether i am right or wrong but what is the correct name, and that right there is almost impossible. Some call it double spin, others butterflies, helicopters, and way many many others along with yours. I call it double spin because you use 2 hands, and single spin to the spin with one hand. I call helicopter the part where i dropped the rifle spinning on top of my head, but then again it is all subjective

  • how do you guys do helicopters(butterflies) like that mine looks diffrent lol

  • hmmm i am not the best at doing them but i try. It is very hard to explain in writing, but the best way i can explain it, and the way i do it. is the you use the right hand more than the left hand. I only use the left hand to catch the body of the rifle with my palm UP and then twist my left hand 180 degrees clockwise from YOUR perspective, if that makes sense. Then you put your right hand palm DOWN on the body of the rifle next to your left hand, that is also palm DOWN, to take it and spin it.

  • picense el pinche yoyo all 3 of yall i dont need yalls aprovall Aholes!!!!

  • the guy in this video is like

    pinche hot

  • man fuck the guy in this video with his dark iraqi lookin self!!!!!! give me one of those fucking rifles and il poop on any wespoint bitch any day including that one bitch talking shit earlier thinkings shes bad ass... give her a 14 pound rifle and lets see what she can do stupid cunt!!!!! aint no body better than me shittttt!!!!

  • hmm you probably suck a lot more than anybody i know, specially with that name ADT 08 which probably means sucky ass armed drill team that didnt place in anything and 08 that you are a loser out of high school, and probably really fat because of 4 exes in your name, so i bet my guess is very accurate.

  • ding ding correct...and hes a dumb fuck because rifles dont weight 14lbs

  • no demil rifle ways 14 ibs..so you are cleary an idiot...secondly...post some vids of yourself drilling before you start the un-necessary trash talk

  • i just got my rifle, and im just trying to get the simple spin down, i keep twisting my left wrist with the rifle, as opposed to letting go and turning it over...if that makes sense.... do you have any advice?

  • are you talking about the double spin, where you spin the rifle in front of you with both hands? because all you do with the left hand is catch it with your palm facing up flat, catch it and just rotate it your hand 180 degrees to the right, or clockwise. from your perspective, and let your right hand grab it, and both hands grabbing the rifle upside down horizontally, and both hands with the knucles up, is that what you mean?

  • yes, thank you very much.

  • no problem, good luck in your spinning endevours!!

  • Do you have to tell me something mister?

'I much rather go and spend that money to a trip to cancun and see some hot girls in bikinis. '

    EHUM?

Am i not good enough for you?

  • you are very very cute like always by the way

  • just amazing dude... im a freshman in jrotc and just made exhibition and i cant wait to get that good^^

  • thanks for the comment, but i wish i could be better like some other people out there. that's cool that you decided to join exhibition. take advantage your whole 4 years in jrotc. i was in it too since my freshman year just like you. i got better and better because i practiced everyday before school and while practice was going. don't be afraid of the rifle, let it be afraid of you. you WILL hit yourself hundreds of times, i guarantee it, but that is only the way to get better.

  • dude, if you want to get good stay dedicated =) I've been dedicated for 2 1/2 years now and I'm very good.

  • Im guessing this guy was one of the nuts?

And yeah, the dude with the perfect score was Brian Neilson, my year.

  • Brian Neilson, cool i did not know that. I was one of the last 3 people to compete for the 2 spots and it was very close, but i couldn't do a very simple spin so i was out of the nut/guidon spot. but both my buddies did their job badass in the team so it is all good. You a former FDT member?

  • Wow. Even the worst Norwich or West Point guy could spank this kid.

  • Right, That's why the Fish Drill Team takes National Champions every year at Tulane where Norwich and West Point hardly even place.

  • Haha, no argument there. But that's not an indication of talent. I give credit to the strong recruiting and smart choreography of the Fish. But my statement still stands. Both Norwich and West Point have more talented drillers. Which is why you rarely see a Fish place in solo exhibition.

  • You might not see it very often. But at Tulane 2004 a Fish Drill Team member one 1st place. He also got a perfect 100% score. So it can be done.

  • Oh, I'm not saying it can never be done. What I'm saying is the talent level on the Norwich and West Point drill teams is much higher. I know people on FDT, USMADT, and NURDT. As a matter of fact, I was a member of the Norwich Drill Team from 2003 - 2007, so I think I have an inside track on this one.

  • yeah but you don't have the inside on FDT. and the crazier thing is that they are all fish that mostly have never even touched a rifle. Not four year cadets like all the other academies and maybe even 8 years of drill including high schoolers, probably including yours. It is not about having crazy badass spinners all in one team, because no matter how good they are, if they can't pull it together then they suck. it doesn't matter at all.

  • and if FDT is national champion over your school, it is because of talent and dediction, which is obviously something your school lacks. Hence why you are looking at a video from a ex FDT member.

  • ok. as you can tell from the video, i made it just for fun. no serious drill, also another reason why i don't have a uniform on. but let me explain it for you since you don't understand: I love drill, and i have won i don't know how many trophies, and i can spank any of those cadets in those schools, including yours and you.

  • Wow. That must have really gotten to you. I have respect for anyone who is willing to pick up a rifle and do what drillers do, including you. However, I'm judging from this video and compared to the drillers I've seen at USMA and NU, it's...meh. If that burns your ass, sorry. But here's what you can do:

Come down to Daytona Beach in May for the Isis World Drill Championships and compete. My name is Andrea Bryant, let's see if you can indeed "spank" me.

  • wow, that must have really gotten to you to give me your name. one, i don't drill againts girls, specially the ones that spin one pound plastic "rifles". second, i am in medical school, obviously more important than competing againts a girl in drill. third, i go there and really "spank" you and then what? i wasted time and money to a place and all you are going to have is your tail between your legs. I much rather go and spend that money to a trip to cancun and see some hot girls in bikinis.

  • I see what you've done here. You're trying to take the whole "girls can't drill" route. Very clever. But your theory is flawed. Ultimately, you're just talking shit and have no intention of backing it up. Just being an internet gangster.

And here, I thought I might have been speaking with an intelligent person. But your comments about female drillers and your ignorance in general has led me to believe otherwise. Drill discussion aside, you're just an asshole, as it seems. And I'm done with you.

  • Shhh Andrea, he doesnt know of what he speaks...

  • I'm a female fish in the corps who went out for fdt, those are about 14 pound rifles. There is a reason you hardly see females on the exhibition team, we just cant spin those rifles fast enough. Face it, females lack the strength needed, its not bad to say it. Also individual spinners do NOT make up a team, hence why fdt takes first every year, because at A&M we can still forge leaders and teams the hard way, good ole hallway parties and mud smokings mixed with a little screaming in your face

  • haha yeah fish year is always the best huh? that's badass that you went for it, not many try out, but the few that do stand out above all the female cadets in the corps, my year we only had 2, but they were badass, and that tells a lot about you. stick with it, no matter what, that cord and medal are worth it in the end.

  • You have apparently never seen Andrea drill. Maybe you should go take a look at her videos, she very clearly has the strength to do it. Or are you intimidated because a girl is better than you? Are you so intimidated by a woman being better at something than you are that you're using this easy out? Very mature.

  • i went to comp there ^_^ i think i saw you -_- small world.

  • is this at mcneil?

  • yes it is. how do you know? do you go to McNeil?

  • and i go2 WW but your corps may shut down... so yea im going there probably junior year.

  • by your corps i meant MY corps :p bad thinking there
