You know I always wondered. Some people would love to have roms but to legally own them you have to own the game. Well what if someone like you were to sale shares of your game collection and like 100 people would all own a share of your collection thus giving them ownership of the games. Well would they then be able to own roms of those games legally ?

Its so nice to have the original consoles and games but it is much cheaper and less hassle to have the whole history of video gaming on your hard drive with emulators and roms. Nes games 865 total equals 183 megs,,,,,525 SNES at 645 megs and so on.

@thaddeusmcgrath You're right. It's much cheaper and less hassle, but you can't beat using the original hardware and having a physical collection. Emulation just plays the pure ROM, you don't get the quirks of the console. Dithered transparancies etc. If you're a purist, a collector, have a passion for the electronics and the quirks that they produce etc then original is the way to go. Collectors enjoy the hunt and getting the item to display as much as the game itself (if not more!).

I'm something of a collector myself and its always fun to look at other people's collections. Very nice, buddy.

Only problem i have is you seem to have many multiples of the same games. For a store inventory, it makes sense, but in a private collection, I believe its redundant to keep multiple copies of the same game, same version, release, etc. Not to mention the space it consumes that could otherwise be filled with other games.
