I like the GTi but VW took money away from the engine and slapped it into higher quality plastics for the interior so I'll pass. Then they charge alot more money for crap that comes standard on the new Speed 3.

I definitely weighed the 2 and ended up with a 2010 Speed 3. I haven't even thought about the GTi since. This car kicks some serious ass.

I have owned my 2010 MS3 for 3 months now and i love this car. Full technology package and bose sound system makes it just fun to drive.

but Mazda really NEEDS to put at least AWD as an option. Like we should be able to get it with the mazdaspeed6's awd system, which was great

Like the man says, base price under $24K is a steal for this kind of performance. The GTI is way more refined, but it'll cost you. I can't believe a Civic Si is almost the same price as the MS3. Sweet-shifting 6-speed and all, but gutless.

Not everyone will like every bit of the car, but what's important is its performance without sacrificing too much on the aesthetic side. Also if you dont like the front, isnt there a way to change it?

The new mazda 3 is ugly, you'd have to be blind or lack any sense of taste not to admit it. At least the 2007 looked decent. Also the Mazda 3 fanboys never seem to be willing to admit you'd probably be jacked if you ever got hit in a side impact crash.

You're right, I didn't look it up on youtube, because I'm not retarded. I went to the IIHS website, and found there that they gave the new Mazda 3 their highest rating in every tested aspect. The NHTSA gave it 5 stars driver side impact, 4 stars rear side impact, and the car received similar high marks from the EU's NCAP testing.

Your assertion that an occupant would be 'jacked' during a side (or any reasonable) impact is wholly unfounded.

@kgireland7 I think people will buy whatever they want. Not all American cars are entirely American either. Just like alot of Japanese cars are not from Japan. How about the Mazda 6? Ford,Lincoln,Mercury,ALL use the same platform and parts. Oh,and the Mazda 3 here.....also shares parts and platform with the Ford Focus,and Volvo C30 and S40.Buy American you say??? Yeah,ok!!!!
