Mostly older, white Conservatives voted in the 2010 midterms. I said on here that the only way the GOP would win is if that happened, and it did. In effect, blacks helped, but did not completely do it.

Politics in America will never be fixed until we get rid of all political parties. Ballots should only consist of names and voting records.

Other Presidents have had to deal w/ party loses in Congress: Bush2, Clinton, Bush1 ,Reagan, Carter, Nixon, Kennedy, Ike, Truman, FDR, Hoover, Coolidge -- I could go on but would run out of room.
In mid-terms Presidents just naturally have a loss in seats in their party, but many still bounce back & win re-election - in part because the new Congress didn't work perfectly either in the opinon of some.

Hell, even lower taxes wont stop outsourcing. Nothing short of lowering minimum wage to internationally competitive rates will truly stop outsourcing. I love the conservative fiscal stance most of the time, but when it comes to dealing with outsourcing jobs, neither they, nor the democrats have a viable answer.

I point you to the failed Prop 19 as a perfect example. Something that is intrinsically a state right, was determined by the people, to still be illegal.

@batfly The war centralized the union into a super state. This was the purpose of the war carried out by Dictator Lincoln whether yankees realized it or not. There is no Union anymore not in any true sense of the word. This is the problem. As King of The Hill the Federal Government interprets the Constitution any way it wants whenever it wishes to expand it's ever increasing power further. This is referred to by both parties as a "living breathing" Constitution.
