I believe they are zebra finches. Society has lighter skin and brown feathers.

I had them both, Society & Zebra. But I had to separate them later because the Zebra were very aggressive toward the Society finches.

Yes, they practically did it themselves. I only provided the material.

I have shredded paper, the nesting material (threads), and I even bought the sweet grasses for them (recommended by pet smart employee).The grasses smell very nice. :)
