Every drug should be legal. Laws on drugs just restrict freedom and make fewer people go against doing drugs because of the incredible desire for Big Brother to stomp out drug addictions on idiots that do them, so it makes them better and people won't think drugs are so bad, which in turn adds to the problem they're trying so hard to get rid of. The penalties you pay for doing hard drugs are far worse than any jail sentence or penalty they put on you.

@glorp896 I am a 22 year old male who smoked weed everyday since the age of 14. I graduated with a 3.4 GPA at 17 years old, and finished my bachelors degree in game and art design earlier this year. Also all 3 of my roommates smoked daily as well, and only one of them quit school because of family issues. Now back to your little claim you just made. A quick google of the entire report would tell you that this was not a study for just marijuana users, but people who smoke weed and drink heavily.

My IQ has done nothing but raise since grade school and I'm still "Above-Average" on the IQ scale. @glorp896 THC has been shown to kill some forms of cancer actually and be cancer preventative. In personal experience, yes daily pot use slows down brain function and hurts memory, but only while effected by it. If you stop daily use your cognitive functions return to normal in a couple weeks. For occasional smokers, they tend to return to normal by the next day or so.
Either way I think we should all have the liberty to decide what we do with our own bodies harmful or not.

@glorp896 No I never said alcohol should be condemned, just saying that the study was done on adolescents who both drank heavily and smoked heavily. If the study was done one people who only smoked then it would actually have some validity but the fact that it wasn't is the main reason most professionals wouldn't consider it to be valid data. Believing something just because it was written my medical professionals is just as ridiculous as believing in pseudo-science...

In 1943 the great depression was coming to an end, and there were more alcoholics and suicide cases than at any other time. The people of that era were already fucked, so blaming it on weed is just childish....

interestingly i heard of a lung cancer study, that normally smoke would increase risk - ANY SMOKE - but they believe some parts of pot counteract carcinogenic effect, almost beyond benign and inert as to cancer effect (reverse?...)
@CalisCool i would eat pot if needing some medicinal effect, as the high is not so pronounced and immediate and benefits would be stretched out...
there are other health problems with the smoke, but apparently no real evidence it causes cancer... other expected problems do occur, like bronchitis and other usual smoking pulmonary problems... holding hot smoke in your lungs has other effects if not cancer (bongs, even though that smoke is cleaner...
It's so true about old/young/educated etc. people who know "everything" about a subject, talk the loudest about it but yet don't have any first hand experience with it. I've been guilty of this so many times in the past but learned to...well...think. "Do I have room to talk?" "Am I an expert who's knowledge can help others form an educated opinion?" "Do I have first hand experience." If the answer is no to any of these, I shut the fuck up and tell others to do the same.

Well to be honest the problem here with the Whole "I hate Drug users just because one tard pissed in my wheaties." You dont need to hate Drugs or the users. You need to hate Stupidity. If everyone actually paid attention to the road instead of messin around, OR driving on drugs, the fault doesn't lie with the Drugs themselves nor the Users in general. Also all 3 of my roommates smoked daily as well, and only one of them quit school because of family issues. Now back to your little claim you just made. A quick google of the entire report would tell you that this was not a study for just marijuana users, but people who smoke weed and drink heavily.

@glorp896 THC has been shown to kill some forms of cancer actually and be cancer preventative. In personal experience, yes daily pot use slows down brain function and hurts memory, but only while effected by it. If you stop daily use your cognitive functions return to normal in a couple weeks. For occasional smokers, they tend to return to normal by the next day or so.
Either way I think we should all have the liberty to decide what we do with our own bodies harmful or not.

If the study was done one people who only smoked then it would actually have some validity but the fact that it wasn't is the main reason most professionals wouldn't consider it to be valid data. there are other health problems with the smoke, but apparently no real evidence it causes cancer... other expected problems do occur, like bronchitis and other usual smoking pulmonary problems... holding hot smoke in your lungs has other effects if not cancer (bongs, even though that smoke is cleaner...

Secondly, Doug makes a hint (to security it seems) to come and get his wife when Doug makes reference to his wife in his show. It's traditionally social conservatives who focus more on limiting other people's freedoms. Whether it's drugs, homosexuality, abortion, prostitution, etc. - you'll find it's social conservatives who cross their arms when confronted with granting freedoms.

If everyone actually paid attention to the road instead of messin around, OR driving on drugs, the fault doesn't lie with the Drugs themselves nor the Users in general. Also the whole "Drugs" thing includes ALL drugs including Caffeine, Tobacco and Alcohol, As well as the Prescribed drugs that are usually MUCH stronger, and more readily available than the Illegal ones.
And, the thing about Cell phones happens MUCH more often (about a 400 to 1 ratio) than someone on "Illicit Drugs" even getting into an Accident of any kind because MOST know not to try to go places on Them because, the Cops are outside.
