@rtimacn I'm glad you enjoyed it. The mandolin is a 1917 A model. The style is an A but the model is also an A. You can tell because it has a single rope chain design around the sound hole. The A-1 model had two. This one is the middle of the road model of the A models. It was in pretty bad shape when I got it but with some help from a good luthier was able to get it into playable condition.
Thank you so much, man! This helped alot! You are in fact a great teacher! I'd love more videos like this, maybe you could do more Steve Earle mandolin songs, like "Dixieland" and "Copperhead Road".. "Harlan Man". Anyway, thank you, sir.
Great stuff! Perhaps you don't consider yourself a teacher but your explanations, break-downs and demonstrations are first-class. some 'teachers' get so involved in the music and technical theory that they forget that what the student wants to learn is how to play the song! (p.s. and the Gibson sounds beautiful!)
Thanks so much. Look forward to seeing more of your interpretations!
Thanks very much! Greatly appreciated.

"I'm not an instructor," you say. Fooled me. You are great at breaking things down.
Wish you would do more of this sort of stuff with other fun/popular Mando tunes.
Thanks.

Thanks.. that poor old mandolin was a "salvage" case. But it is a testament to the craftsmanship of the old Gibson mandolins.
