Unfortunately it's a journey to firm and secure. I don't think it's about confusion of who you are it's about trying to come to terms with what that really means. I know many lesbians who have been with men to try to be what society and mostly their family deem as "normal". Some never live true and some, like Reese, become true to themselves and live with the sacrifices being gay means in their lives. It's a sad state of affairs but it's the truth.

It led up to Zach comforting Reese with a kiss (which made no sense). So I think this was suppose to lead up to Zach once again comforting Reese with a kiss but it seems they learned from the first one because thank goodness there was no kiss.
