@soulfullofmetal Guess you'd of just been laughing your ass off for a decade, then. Sheesh. Learn a little more and you'll see why it is interpreted that way...and maybe it won't be so funny next time.
Da gibt es eine herrliche wienerische Parodie aus 1971, Original-Spitzbuben, die hat was für sich, "Hair" in 11 Minuten Zeitraffer die wichtigsten Lieder, ich liebe es :-))
This is by far my favorite show of all time. I saw it on Broadway twice, I'm seeing it on tour again in April, and I got casted in it as Jeanie. I'm mad excited :D
I'm auditioning for a local production of this in a few days...I'm so excited. I hope I can be as good as these people! (xD Not happening~) It's gonna be heavily censored since it's a company for kids and teens, but it's still big.
Every generation should do the Aquarius, Let the Sunshine In & Hair Musicals!! The mind set & energy that these create are EPIC! I must admit the Aquarius Musical seems to be the most powering & empowering! Thank you so much for sharing this video, loved it!
@freakinawesomeguy32 Yeah, it's alot shorter and none of the cast played any instruments or did any smudging or anything :( as far as i remember that is!
I was in the ensemble of my highschool's production of this. Yeah, of course we had to censor some stuff, but we still managed to keep it edgy enough to raise some eyebrows...Man, what an amazing experience. "Let the Sunshine In" was especially moving- people in the cast cried onstage every night of the show.
This is neat to see a kind of behind the scenes version. I've never been to a broadway play. With two wars going on Hair is a particularly timely play. Hopefully one day peace really will guide the planet like it says in the song!
It is the best show I have ever seen. Anywhere. Ever. Period. I live in Chattanooga, TN and have been up to see it three times! Just bought my ticket for April 21!!! My one year anniversay of seeing the show!
same... i saw it on bway a couple wks ago and @ da end I got 2 go up on stage and it just inspired me and made me think, this is what I want 2 do... i wish u the best of luck :-)
Truly an INCREDIBLE show... a MUST SEE! I just saw it this past Saturday while on a trip with my daughter in New York... Loved the music (I am a child of the 60's and have always loved HAIR) and the actors were AWESOME! Thank you for making my trip to NY so enjoyable. I want to come back and see HAIR again with my husband.
The alto (Allison Guinn) at 1:50-2:02 is beastin' it up with that killer harmony! It's moments like these when, without a doubt, I absolutely LOVE musical theatre!
Add to list of life Goals, Attend Hair on Broadway. Amazed at energy and how distinct voices sound. Bravo to musical director. Love the waves of vocals with this song Aquarious.
the first time i saw hair was when i watched the movie which my mom got me for my 15h birthday... not a great movie for a 15 year old... lol... now im 18, and i finally caught the tony awards for the first time in 3 years and i was so happy to see the cast of hair on there... that being said, i hope the musical goes on tour so i can see it!!!!
I saw it last night... and I saw the original. I'm still feeling the energy. Excellent ensemble. Berger was played by the understudy, and I can't believe the guy cast in the role could possibly be any better. Shock value of some of the lines from the 60's is gone; but it's still as fresh as ever. I can't imagine this on tour in a large theatre - It would lose the intimacy. Thanks for the post - It's great to hear the 2009 cast.
it is both true and completely legal. this is a known aspect of any production of "hair." it's optional both to the production and to individual performers. it is not there in a sexual manner, but to show a form of protest.
@90mloda Ya know I couldn't really tell you....I guess it's just a form of their rebellion or something? It really wasn't a big deal...nothing offensive!
@90mloda it's not meant to be anything sexual or anything. it was supposed to symbolize the beauty of the body, the simplicity of life which society turned down in the 60s/70s (and even today)
@wrkin9to5 when you say its optional to the performers, do you mean that if they didnt want to do the nude scenes, they would have both dressed and naked performers in that part of the act, or they just didnt to the act or the scene?
@metsguydude1 When I saw "Hair' in the 60's, they dis-robed under a parachute which they held over their heads and colored lights played over their bodies, no other lighting. So there was not much skin to see. Altho some people in the audience had binoculars!
@Dyna moDylan isaw it broadway it was awsome if also seeing the tour of it in april ps how did you fall asleep with all the in crowed stuff going on lol
AMAZING i want to see it sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad
