@Mauli1410 Well you can tell Omar was getting sick of the At The Drive-In's original sound so much that half of their last record, Relationship of Command, sounds like it could have been part of an EP before Tremulant.

The Mars Volta is more of a continuation of De Facto's sound though if you ask me. They sound like At The Drive-In's later work too but I hear De Facto a bit more sometimes.

as much as it sucks at the drive-in will never get together because they got tired of playing that music. omar and cedric pulled out to play something more differnt and harder sounding and soon enough theyll get tired of that and mars volta will be over too. theyve all moved on to different things and will never trace back their roots and thats why he said hed do it for the money. cedric is a huuuuuge influence and at one time the smartest percon i ever heard speak and now hes too washed up.
