When I beat this game, my dad was proud of me, because I had beat it without his help for once. I was maybe... 5? 6? So this was about 1996... good times.... Of course he was even MORE impressed when I beat Starfox, THAT game gets tough.
que nostalgia me traen estas canciones, recuerdo las tardes enteras jugando con mis amigos, mi abuela friendo sopaipillas y mis perros sentados junto a mi mirando lo que hago...
god i was so happy when i beat this game. my dad told me whats so exciting about beating a game from the 90's in all pixlated graphics. A 12 year old beating the best game on record thats what.
I miss the way I used to play these games. I had no "Rage quit" attitude back then so I would play this for hours dying and trying again... and again, now a days I'll just rage quit... what's wrong with me -.-
This song is freaking awesome, I remember when I first beat Bowser I was SHOCKED. also I thought i was the man for finding the star road, Seriously, it was my first game and I thought I uncovered something super cool that no one knew.
God I was such a nerd way back when this game came out. My older brother had friends over when I beat this. They were downstairs and I thought that if I turned up the tv and they heard this song playing that they would think that I was cool for beating it. It's embarrassing me just writing now and it's been nearly 20 years. I still love this game and still turn up the music when I beat it.
@superearthbender what does that have to do with anything? I mean really there isn't a single reference to 4chan with what I said. Don't be a little bitch about it. What I wrote was 100% truth, so you can just go back to your stupid fucking 9gag shit!
can you remember the magic of those days? i just feel free when i hear the music of those old games and then remembering the time when i was a kid i just love that time
If I ever have kids, I know that they're going to grow up playing video games. And I'll be damned if they end up becomming those whiny kids playing FPS all day on Xbox and raging and crying over little things. I want them to grow up playing awesome shit like this. I guess all I'm saying is that I want them to have an awesome childhood like I did. Retro gaming is special in some sort of way, a charm that today's modern games don't have.
@nabbestemmia Oh wow. I got an SNES for my seventh birthday and it came with the Super Mario Super Collection thing. I played that for forever. I couldn't beat any of the games of course because I was so little, but it was still great fun!
hell to the fuck yeah son! i remember when i was 5, i counted how many times i beat the last boss, i stopped counting at 79, so right now i KNOW its been well over 100 times. this is the most nostalgic song in the WORLD for me.
I haven't heard this song in months. Yet for some reason, when i wok up this morning, i had it stuck in my head and i was singing it... it was really odd but proves that this song is amazingly memorable. MARIO FOREVER!!!
At the conclusion of a long journey, Mario returns home recalling all the adventures that he had along the way. The path was long and hard, and there were some good moments and some frustrating moments. Slowly the curtain draws and so ends the long adventure and also the end of an era in gaming.
This is my #1 favorite videogame song of all time.
Lol, I was playing The Saboteur a month back, and one song from the soundtrack, L'Homme Que J'Adore, kept reminding me of... something... Now I know what! :D
Yay for polka game music! Wait, did I just say that? Damn. Anyway, if I were to count how many times I've come to this song...dear God, is that even possible? I love this game so much and have beaten it so many times...
Man this is an awesome song! Good Memories associated with this...Though my favorite ending song has to be that song from that one mario game where the entire game is a dream forgot the name unfortunately...D=
Where I live my friend's mom ran a convience store and I remember he was the very first person on our town to get an SNES and Mario. Was so cool to be able to see this game before so many others did. Laid me flat on my ass how cool and fun it was.
i always love how some classics make it into your list at such a high place as 570... i mean, do we really have THAT much classics that everyone knows? unbelievable, but i guess it has to be true.
SMW was the second game i ever played, first was Zelda - ALttP!
Yeah... I can still remember the days before I first started school, during which I was 3, 4, and 5. I can still remember playing this with my dad, my older brother, and my sisters all the time.
So much nostalgia... And it's not just this game either. I remember tons of games I used to play and still do, like Mario All-Stars, Super Mario 64, Zelda, Yoshi's Island, the list goes on. So much fun. I feel the same nostalgia, ThaShogun12.
