  • great song. wish it said sleepy sweet home, tennessee,go vols go in it tho.

  • Nothin better then that Sweet Southern Comfert!!:)

  • You know what, I really hate how people are always saying, "Oh you cant be southern if you aint born southern." Well ya know what, Im a born and raised indiana girl, But Im a COUNTRY GIRL. Soon as i hit 18 im moving to georgia. It dont matter if you was born in Mississippi, Louisiana, Washington, California, or Jersey. Im as much a country girl as anyone that was raised in the carolinas. Dont matter where you're raised, it just matters whats in ya.

  • I live in Wisconsin and was born and raised in Minnesota. But here's the thing... I love this song & video, because it reminds me of HOME, regardless. I'm as much a country boy as anybody from the south... never lived in a big huge city. Down home is down home no matter where you are. there's hearty, tough, hospitable folks around here too, trust me. I've been in the south and there's good people down there also. country boys can survive!!

  • Love this song

  • You can be "Country" and live ANYWHERE in this great land.. But "Being" in the South has its own specialness that cannot be found ANYWHERE else. Love my sweet Carolina days..

  • I live up here in Wisconsin, and I feel completely outta place. People at my school give me crap constantly, and call me "Dumb Hillbilly Girl, Stupid Redneck, Hick," and a bucha other stuff that's just totally uncalled for. There's no one else like me around here. Iv been goin through alot lately nd just havent been myself, nd it's songs like this that give me hope nd convince me to just keep my head up. Cuz I know that no matter how bad things get, there's light at the end of the tunnel.<3

  • i am a northern boy. however i live in Georgia but i have to admit i hate it here but this song points out all the nice things about it........... im very complex haha

  • How cool was the video, I was raised up on farming, spraying corn and all the other crops my dad planted. On saturdays all of the kids in the neighborhood would get together and play and when we one of us got in trouble the neighbors beat our ass and then when i got home i got my ass beat again. Then on sundays it was church time, then all the kids would get back at it playing, running and just being kids, while our parents sit under shade trees talking. Life was so simple back then. Go Carolina

  • I was born and raised in southern California and wish every day that i Could have been born down in the southern states. I just feel completely out of place living here and this song just makes me want to move there even more,

  • k obviously northern sates arent southern on the map? But they can be southern in the heart. thats all i meant.

  • actually, there r alot of southern states that r southern, but no one there has a southern accent.i have a really strong southern accent nd im from South Carolina.Alot of people dont believe me when i say that bc they always think im from the "deep south". SC is the 1st state to start the confederacy states..nd no i dont think there r southern states that r southern..like florida, texas etc...just my opinion..no one can claim to be southern if they werent born & raised in the south. just sayin....

  • I like the version that says, "you can feel it in Kentucky, Go Cats Go" much better

  • Born in Georgia, raised in Oklahoma. I blare this song when I'm here at college, makes me miss home...

  • TEXAS baby!! to hell with the yankees!

  • @countrygirldj I disagree.... not all states are "southern"... Im from new york and have lived in georgia n carolina alabama and florida for a while and there isnt anything like the "south"... thats like trying to say since you live in a city you know what its like to live in the new england states... all area have their personalities and this is a song for the "south".... i miss it down there... and florida is not the "south" ... its more like a melting pot

  • I am from New York and old man river whispers to me to carry on carry on. i love the sweet southern comfort

  • Roll Tide Roll!!!

  • ROLL TIDE ROLL 2011 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Great song. I'm southern-bred all the way, but you don't have to be from here to get it. He could've just as easily been talking about anywhere in the US. We all have pride in where we're from. The radio stations here have a sweet edit: "GO DAWGS GO!"

  • im from northeastern iowa, but im a country girl all the way. i love the country and everything it stands for. when im in school i want to be outside around my dads and just sitting down by my horses watchin them be horses and feel the wind blow my hair around as the sun beats on my face. even though its winter right now. :D

  • go hogss

  • Roll Tide Roll Baby!

  • I'm from Alaska and I'm southern!

  • WPS! GO HOGS GO!

  • beautiful song

  • Im from Wisconsin myself, but im country to the bone! and this is a classic song! and if i had the choice to be anything else, i wouldn't country till i die!

  • great song! makes me want to be in the south right now!

  • even bein from the northeast i like the song

  • love this song<3

  • ok first of all you people that say your so country on you tube well your not real country boys work hard sun up to sun down and then eat then sleep and repeat so y'all aren't country just cause you have a gun and where jeans and a cowboy hat and boots don't mean crap so shut up and watch the video

  • im southern born and bread and im glad to be that way

  • MISSOURI

  • Was born in Texas, grew up all over with my dad being military. I've live in NC, I've even lived in Alaska for 3 years. Just got back down to Louisiana and we're staying, roll tide roll. Nothing better than southern comfort! (aware that I live in LA but Alabama is in my blood, ROLL TIDE!)

  • I love NC born and raised but im thinking about moving further south. Just want to be with the rest of my family.

  • you know what hurts...seein all the comments sayin "that state aint southern". we all live in the united states of america. dont matter where you come from rather it be virgina, florida, north carolina or fucking new york. you can be southern anywhere and be damn proud of it. were all supposed to be a big lovin country family. god bless america and all the cowboys, cowgirls, farmers, rednecks, hillbillys, and country lovers. I wouldnt change one thing bout my life and how and where i live.<3

  • @countrygirldj Technalllly Northerners cant be Southerners unlesss they actually was born down here but Northern people can be country and Southerners cant be Northerners unless we were born up there haha

  • @countrygirldj And Flordia really aint southern lol hell ya can damn tell go to every Southern state then go to Flordia and you'll seeeee a damn big difference

  • @countrygirldj actually u cant also, if you wasnt born & raised in any of them states i mentioned above then you are NOT southern or redneck. u gotta be brought up in the southern states to be southern nd not from a northern state bc techinally your a northerner nd not a southerner.

  • @countrygirldj it doesnt matter bc techinally only that little part where they grew up is southern nd not around them are. just like Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma.. everywhere u go its southern, every part, every person and everyone has an accent etc and not just one little section or part is..now thats the difference.i kno what being southern is and where it is nd who is..take it or leave it.

  • @countrygirldj Thats the dumbest thing I ever heard, sure country is all over, but you cant be southern from fucking new york.

  • love this song, roll tide roll but why are ludacris and smash mouth under suggestions fuck the new youtube

  • Beautiful misty morning here in the Arkansas Ozarks, & this song just makes me appreciate it even more. But remember y'all...country comes from what you have inside your heart, not outside your window.

  • my girlfriend was born and raised in mass.. shes a yankee... dont have any problems with anyone

  • well i live in the same region and southeast nc is a long ways from ga no matter which way u go. and i agree there are places everywhere like that but they get that way from transplants migrating to a certain area.... look at fl.... not thats theres anything wrong with that. i cant blame em.. i wouldnt wanna feeze all the time either... was just givin an opinion... i was actually born in richmond va but raised in easten nc

  • i remember a few yrs ago when va removed the statue of robert e lee from memorial blvd.. wasnt a very southern thing to do

  • yea even though va was the capital of the confederacy u guys r still questionable.... on the line its kinda like half and half there.. and north carolina is quite far from ga,,, just sayin,,,

  • @terry10691 ummmm NC borders Va Tn Sc and also Ga so don't know exactly how far that can be.Btw I live in southeastern NC and If I go straight west I am not only below all of Tn there are places in Ga that are more northern than where I live.

  • Roll Tide!!!

  • roll tide roll

  • @redneckboy1223 WAR EAGLE!!!!!!

  • @mrmat567890 ROLL TIDE!!!!!!

  • The lyrics SHOULD READ: FROM VIRGINIA down To Georgia. The Carolinas are practically at Gerogia's doorstep. South Carolina, esp. Makes no sense.

  • @VASINGER doesn't fit rhythm of the song thats why

  • @VASINGER Exactly! I'm from Virginia, and I think it's pretty south. You have accents and country music, it's sweet southern. :)

  • War Eagle!!!

  • @bamamama64 Southern "bread" huh... ------> proud to be midwestern by birth..

  • @bamamama64 sorry its bred. but hell thats the only way.

  • Clint Black produced it, so, it's very likely that he played harmonica on it. Buddy hit #3 in Billboard, 5-2-04. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a blessed week!

  • Y'all southerners love to talk about the South being the free land. I am from MD. Live in the western side (the country side) I go to Virginia Tech. I can't tell you how many times I've been busted for drinking a few beers below 21. I lost my license for it. You get a felony for driving over 80, a reckless for a rolling right on red. In MD underage poss. is just a fine. The south may have lower taxes and better gun rights (I am a libertarian) but I'll take my higher taxes for fair laws.

  • 205ALABAMA!!!!

  • I dream about the mountains in California, so much better than all them muddy waters down in the shitty south south land.

  • @nixonpunk222 ill take muddy waters of the south over the smog of california anyday. i was born in the north and raised in the south. i couldn't ask for a friendlier place.

  • @yanagal01 I live in Nor Cal its mountain country we dont have traffic, or smog pollution. We actually have the cleanest air in America.

  • I live in the South, and I was on the proch last summer, wondering if anyone could possibly love the blazing heat and beating sun as much as I do. And someday, I'll tell my kids about growing up in the south, with the magnolia tree down the road and how hot the summers were, and how much I adored it.

  • 5 peple aint country

  • I lived in PA for 22 years and moved to South Carolina 2 years ago, love that southern way of life.

  • im not even an ALabama football fan but this song makes me reconsider lol ROLL TIDE ROLL

  • He must not have toured the right part of the north east cas if he went to Vermont, New Hampshire, or upstate NY he wouldent have wanted to go back down south

  • @mdcarillo

My friend have you ever been down here? It aint called southern hospitality for nothing. You should come down and stay a while you'll see what you're missing in no time.

  • @HeyGotJESUS I live down here now because im stationed here for the military, some of it is nice but ill take the mountains and the snow over this anyday, its just the way i was raised

  • I love this song but I HATE all of the Anti north proplr I mean really we Won the war now where fighting as brothers so shut ur mouths and enjoy the freaken song

  • @Maddiebugg09 ................when was this song written then........... lol :D im not doubting u i just wanna know

  • "In Carolina or in Georgia

Open arms are waitin for ya"

When I hear those lyrics I get a little choked up because it takes me back to being 10 years old, going to visit my step-grandmother down in Maryland and getting a big hug from her when I ran up to her porch.

Yeah, MD might not be all that South, but she had a heavy Southern accent, so it was south enough for me!

  • @biskitts i was born in Southern Texas i got relatives in every state (we have a big family) my grandparents live in Mississippi i remember when i was 3 i was waddling up their porch to my great grandpa and getting a hug from him i also remember that was the first place i got burnt at because i grabbed a flame. every1 in my family weather they live in New york or Alabama has a heavy southern accent the south is a beautiful place especially at my grandparent's house i am 23 now.

  • @biskitts I don't know how you could get much more southern than Maryland, my Maryland. It most certainly is southern! And one of the most beautiful states I ever had the pleasure to drive through.

  • @biskitts maryland is not south at all...

  • @uscgirl444 It is south of the Mason/Dixon line! XD

  • @biskitts you guys eat crab legs, not fried chicken.

  • @uscgirl444 or the whole crab, idk whatever

  • @uscgirl444 I think you meant crab cakes. Which are great with fried chicken!

  • @biskitts no i'm talking about crab,just crab.

  • fuck the tide

  • @jameseatondale ROLL TIDE ROLL, BITCH! (:

    -MIssissippi Girl

  • We put sugar in our tea. We boil our peanuts. There's no place I'd rather be. South Carolina is home.

  • MIssissippi girl here, born and raised in the country. this song is so amazing. it doesnt get much better than the south :)

  • malone needs to get him up here and let him sing

  • what about Florida?

  • I love this song. i lived in ky until i was about 6 and moved down to texas until i was about 10. even in the short time i lived there i miss it. im back in kentucky, and it is nothing like down there...

    rebel for life.

  • East Tennessee baby!! Go Vols

  • Good song...Clint Black produced the CD, and plays harmonica on this tune...cant beat it....

  • people up north, dont understand that this is REALLY how the south is...they will never understand how big high school football is or sweet tea or anything! or homecoming! nothing! i moved from new york to arkansas when i was 11, and the people up north just think that the south is where stupid redneck farmers are from. well, ill tell ya, now that i moved, the south is a lot more than that! south >north.

  • @morkies100 Well, all us yanks aren't that ignorant. I'm born and raised in New Jersey (waiting for the inevitable Jersey Shore jokes) and I love the South! Can't tell you how many times I loved visiting my relatives in Virginia, Louisiana and Florida.

This song just makes me that much more nostalgic about all those visits.

  • @biskitts There's nothing as warm, inviting, and absolutely lovely as the south. All it needs is Lilacs. I was raised in Indiana with relatives in Florida, West Virginia. Now stuck working in San Francisco, I long for the south.

  • @biskitts country is country wide you don't know country till you have driven your truck cross a lake in december here in the north country in nh

  • @biskitts Bless your heart ;)

  • moved from new york to arkansas 3 years ago. And ill be the very first to tell you that, the south is 123387325% BETTER than the north.

  • missin my homwtown...... sometimes college sux..... this song helps

  • why does everybody always leave out oklahoma!?!

  • I live in the North but I always love me some Sweet Southern Comfort

  • Im sorry for yall who arent from Dixie! Even if where you live is country it isnt the southland! if ya want to be part of this song yall should move down here cause we'd be glad to have ya!

  • @texascountryboy72 lol Texas aint part of no south they wish they were. aint no Dixie son the south is the south and Texas is well just plain old Texas

  • @kakarot138 Well West Texas isnt the south... Neither is Austin, San Antonio, or Dallas, but the Pineywoods just east of austin stretch all the way to georgia. I live in a country town just north of Austin because like right outside of the city limits it becomes farms... everywhere. My whole moms family is from east texas and my dads comes from the deep south and virginia so i think i know southern. My mom's side is a heck of a lot more southern than anyone who lives in nashville or atlanta.

  • they forgot rossburg, ohio. We got a half mile dirt track called Eldora lol

  • @bigwheezy312 its still not dixie so sorry

  • @bigwheezy312 ohio aint the south either haha

  • Buddy Jewell= Kenny Powers

  • He doesn't mention North Dakota!

  • @garnilsen north dekota aint south

  • This song reminds me so much of my home, Hertford, North Carolina. I miss the friendly people, seeing gun racks on trucks, tractors on the road (ok maybe not, lol) and good small town country fairs where people come together to talk, eat, and have fun. Living in Michigan currently due to my wife but I'll always be a tarheel at heart.

  • People in Arkansas dont even consider themselves to be a part of the south.

  • @dculp39231 I've lived in Arkansas for 21 years. I know they do.

  • @arkrazor22 I just think thats sort of weird. Partly because of the location. I just noticed how ironic it was that it was mentioned in this song. Im from NC.

  • @dculp39231 HAHAHA! i moved to arkansas from NEW YORK 3 years ago! and trust me, these arkansans DEFINITELY consider themselves part of the south. and ohhhhh how i love it ;)

  • @dculp39231 yes we do

  • @carlfromark40 someone else replied a while back and actually agreed with me so im not exactly sure how many people actually do.

  • proud to be Georgia born and raised. gotta love the south.
