Their culture is also great and honourable, but was basterdised by the military dictatorship. Asians are very well endowed and are the same as westerners. As far as democracy and civilised multicultural integration, Australia has done much more 'peacefully' than any other country on the face of the planet. We have fought more foreign wars than you can poke a stick at and always with valour, courage and total commitment. We were the first to give women the right to vote and the only 1st World country to federate without a shot being fired. Japanese shot our nurses and treated our POW's with no remorse yet we were always merciful with them.

True, but Japan's atrocities during WWII were perhaps the very worst in history, followed by Nazi Germany and the Holocaust. Just look up Unit 731. That on top of the tens of millions of Asian civilians the Japanese killed, plus the brutal treatment and subsequent deaths of their POWs.

As much as I remain conflicted about America's decision to actually nuke two living cities, I can't help feeling the Japanese may have got what they deserved. They may have even got off easy.

That being said, I'd like to stress that I, for one, would never hold any sort of grudge against the Japanese. Firstly, as far as I know, no one in my family was ever affected by these events, therefore I have little right to complain (although I reserve the right to be appalled). Secondly, it all happened a long time ago. Hating people for actions committed by earlier generations is pointless. Better to recognize the events as appalling, and then strive to never see their like again.

By all means, please enlighten me. What has England done, in it's long history, that is worse than what Japan did in the years up to and including WWII? I don't pretend to know everything; it's entirely possible I've overlooked something quite horrific. But if you're referring to the witch hunt or something, then please, spare me. Horrible, yes. A valid point, actually. A lot harder to tell exactly how many were murdered during all of that, but you could be right. Alright then. I see your point, but what I'm trying to say is this:

Japan's people (not all of them) knowingly murdered tens of millions of innocent people, and at times (not all the time) I feel like the bomb was an appropriate form of justice: the guilty Japanese having to witness their own innocents suffer. An unfair trade-off for any of the innocents involved, but that's what happens in war. Ruler fucks up, his/her people suffer. Rinse and repeat.
