  • 6 months :)

  • I'm leaving to do this in 2 days. I'm super pumped.

  • Totally my training class thanks for posting I lost my DVD in finnegans rental car on graduation day just a question who is this that posted? -ssg Ostler

  • @kerpatric that would be a guy by the name of Harris

  • If you don't have the greatest eye sight in the world does this affect you in any way?

  • @777Raph777 No, the only special restrictions, aside from the usual enlistment requirements, I'm aware of, are being color blind.

  • 3...more...years...

  • 21b leaving 03 01 2012

  • my dad wanted to be combat engineer when he was in but he couldnt because he is color blind, is there any other odd requirements and also can combat engineers be airborne and be deployed with an airborne unit? i know its probably a dumb question.

  • @rebelallianceairsoft The only thing i know is,that u stay in your EN company, depends who your BN or BDE going to be cz that is what and who you are going to support, not individually, but there are some operation, mission ie, that u can be pick individually or w/ u'r team leader,or by plt per operation.

  • Just dont take the PSS14 land mine detector class, dont ever fucking volunteer, they're going to tell you that it's just another class to get u a certicate of appreciation. I did it when i was in Iraq, thinking that its not gonna be use anymore. Guess what? u get sent to help the INFANTRY CO after you just got back from your Mission,no sleep for 3 to 4 day guarantee.the worst part is u dont know the other troops, its just you and your team leader.

  • Soon to hopefully be a Combat Engineer. Leaving Very soon for Fort Leonard Wood.

  • 12 B leaving march 5

  • This looks cool as shit im thinking about enlisting in this mos

  • this is my AIT company, it was the last cycle through echo 35th before it transfered over to echo 31st

  • I just signed a contract for this MOS. Do they see a lot of combat, also what is the standard issue rifle for engineers? This video shows them using an M16 instead of an M4.

  • cant wait, July 25th, 12B!

  • i was a 21 B hooah combat engineers lead the way MPs don't have shit on the engineers can i get a hooah

  • Is this mod open to active duty or just reserve?

  • @krysistheabyss This MOS is open to all three: active, guard, and reserve

  • Concertina wire that's all I gotta say. Love it or leave it. Everything else is gravy. Putting in 1500 m triple standard wire and mines. And picket pounding your ass off all through the night

  • That's my training class :)

  • Hey has anyone deployed in this mos (12b) I am weeks away from signing my contract and would like to know from someone whos done this. And dont say talk to my local recruiter cuz Im way past that I go to Army Pt every Tuesday and Thursday.

  • I am a 11B reclassing to 12B. Both are great MOS'! And since I'm in the reserves now there isn't infantry so the next best thing is 12B. They both do similar jobs just combat engineers do a lil more of a variety of work from Infantry to Route clearance. They are both awesome. Don't get it twisted though Infantry is the shit!! HOoah

  • @FighterPilotX ha ha, should have gone guard! we got plenty of infantry, in fact our unit just got transferred out of an armored infantry battalion to gear up for our deployment, but hey, still glad you made the right choice for MOS :)

  • @invisibledecoy I came out of the Guard and now reserve. I miss the Guard and the Infantry trust me, and since i'm reserve the next best thing is 12B. And I know about them boys. Doing the infantry thing and blowing shit up at the same time. That works for me. I can't wait! And as soon as i reclass i'm going to find me a deployment! Hopefully one in Afghanastan. Thanks bro!

  • I'd have some questions, too.

First, in an "average" real combat situation, around how much does the equipment a combat engineer carries weigh, not counting the armour and weapons that everybody carries, engineer and "standard" infantry?

Second, are there any tasks that they need to do under heavy stress and/or under minimal time - again, not counting setting up explosives and disarming them(, which is not that long)? (Setting up barbed wires and building bridges seem to take quite some time.)

  • well, we generally carry all the same equipment as infantry, most of our engineering specific equipment is generally carried on or in the vehicle, so if you look at what infantry has for weight for loadouts, it's the same

i don't quite wholly understand the second question, however... i haven't set up a bridge or even thought about one since that video i posted, back during our initial training for it, though i believe there are standards for times, i just don't know them offhand

  • are combat engineers at high risk? i was told by my recruiter that the infantry secures the area before the combat engineers go in. is that true?

  • @jrAmPagE03 combat engineers fill multiple roles, of which can include doing alot of grunt work, so just because they say that infantry secures the area, remember it's still a "combat" role, which means you're still going to fight

  • @invisibledecoy fight as in fighting alongside the infantry?

  • @jrAmPagE03 you may run missions with infantry, or run your own where you may come into contact with combat

  • @invisibledecoy ohh okay gotcha i still think im gonna do this though cuz its sounds fun haha

  • All Combat Engineers are Sappers. However, if you are asking about the Sapper tab that is reserved for those who graduate an advanced Sapper leadership course in Ft. Leonardwood. I was a 12 B (now 21 B) from 95-2000. As a Combat Engineer you will bust your ass in the motor pool, you will spend alot of time in the field, you will get drunk and wrestle with your battle buddies in the barracks. You will have a hell of a time.

  • For an intitial entry exam you have to be able to peel an orange in atleast one hour to qualify as a combat engineer.

  • @seanwilliam1987 man are u serious?!?

  • Thank you soo much!!

  • will someone help me? i have a few questions first what exactly does a Combat Engineer do? and is a Sapper the same thing as a combat engineer? and my last questions is how difficult is it to get this Mos? if someone could answer my questions that would be great =)

  • @jesus65515 basically it runs from using explosives, to building bridges, and running route clearances, it all varies greatly, as a combat engineer is a very diverse MOS. It's not extremely difficult, granted you have a sufficient asvab score, and sapper and combat engineer is the same, yet different. sapper is a term that's been used for combat engineers in the past, however you can become a sapper, after going through sapper school

  • @jesus65515 invisible decoy answered it very well, and basically not hard to get but too many people like myself are going in to this field. You will have to wait a long tie before going out to basic.

  • how hard is the ait physically

  • @MercedesCars454 not that bad honestly. I'm 32 and just graduated from OSUT for Combat Engineers. I wasn't and still am not in THAT great of shape, we've been told it will be harder at our unit then training was. Have fun if you go, it's pretty alright.

  • @Deovindice2001 ok thanks

  • Pioneercompany II/09 NylBr. Hooah.

  • april 7th

  • if you go to the "zazzle" website... do a search for "sapperzulu"... A bunch of 12B Combat Engineer stuff.. including the Combat Engineer Badge!

  • i ship out may 29th 21B for basics...

  • December 28th, 2009!

  • AIT for Enigineers is only 4 weeks

  • correction, 6 weeks

  • yeah, im pretty sure i was there for 6 weeks and not just 4 for ait... i hate when ppl say random shit when they dont know.

  • shipping 20092210 for 21B cant wait

  • oct 13th is when i ship out too. Ft LW 21B

  • how longs this AIT

  • 38 weeks i think

  • its 4 weeks

  • @cpat256 no its 6

  • i ship out october 13 as a 21 e but there sending me to jackson for basic whats up with that

  • yep Ft. Leonardwood oct 13th for 21B

  • was bridging in bong son 66,67, timber trestle, agood old fort leonardwood lol welcome home vets

  • signing up for 21b next monday. looks good, cant wait tog et to training.

  • I was in the 35th Eng back in july of 1999.Ft.lostinthewoods,Misery. I see you do alot more post9/11 than i did pre-9/11.Great stuff.

  • Is the training harder then regular infantry?

  • how 21C bridge crewmembers... i heard 21c is like 21b because if were not makin bridges were combat engineers

  • so combat engineers fight like infantrymen as well as doing construction, and demolitions, right? Im thinking about becoming one can some one confirm?

  • yea that is true...we're the one's in the movie that puts the C4 on the door and blow it open while infantry...but mainly playing with mines/demolitions and building small barracks with sand for protection as well...

  • i've been in for a year and the only time i've ever built any kind of structure was in AIT. as a 21B you're more likely to learn about weapons, mines, and other sorts of demolition charges than bridges.

  • For truth!

We only spent two days of our entire AIT constructing a bridge, best two days of the entire AIT... rained and lightning like no other... you are the safest when you hide right on the metal structure!

  • i recognize DS McMahon

  • i am echo 35th graduated with those boys

  • you graduated with our cycle?

  • i have a question, if u join the combat engineers do u do all of that or do the make select 1 of those things to do?

  • you do all that is seen in the video, or at least, you are supposed to, though while you still get the training, with alot of the current environments alot of this is on the backburner

  • i am a 21b combat engineer. i am stationed in fort stewart georgia. all those things in the video you will do and you will work with alot of explosives. i blew up about 100lbs of c4 for the hell of it

  • at 4.29 is he a bad guy

  • get a little goo under the tracks, it's no big deal...

yeah, you're telling me, one, he's in a fairly open spot, two... he's right by the tracks, not a safe position

  • Korea sucks ass. Training wise You get very little. Mostly i've spent my time in the motor pool laying out BII on a bradley then went to gunnery. no real engineer training. Demo. NADA. Ranges only very few. Route clerance. nope. The training is all directed to NEO. Evacuating Civilian familes south. I'm in Area one which blows ass.

  • I hope none of you engineers ever get stuck in korea like I did. I ship back to the states to the 36th engineer brigade in Ft. hood Texas!

  • Hi, I ship out for basic in february and after ait i go to airborne. i was wondering if you know where airborne combat engineers are stationed. I thought maybe fort bragg, but im not sure

  • What do you mean? lol

  • i meant the company you come from, we're all combat engineers, well all have our stories from our respective companies, but we all know the same stuff coming out

  • Bravo 35th Biatch! lol.. Gotta love the Engineers tho. Hooah

  • where you come from doesn't matter if you are a combat engineer!

  • YUP i ship out for training oct 16 21B if anybody has any REAL INFO could you personal msg me and let me know some info please tahnks

  • Hey man I swore in n everything my ship out date is almost coming n I wanted to know how its like being a combat engineer?? I signed up for one cuz it looks exciting

  • alot, there isn't much the MOS doesn't do

anything you see in the video is what we do

  • im a 21 bang bang myself, we blo shit up, kick in doors and poke mines with sticks..doesnt get much better

  • hell yeah! essayons!

i love the mos i chose, none better hooah?

  • Yup, chevy with steelers shit. He was the man really. Good leader

  • lol, ahh, never really seen him then...

we had DS Rodriguez, dunno if you saw him... he was cool shit, then year before that, Tradoc DS of the year Romani... now that guy was amazing

  • We had ds rodriguez for like a week but he went somewhere else. you guys had Senior DS Cooney right? What about DS Jarvis? She was my Favorite along with DS Lukashow! DS Jubenville, DS Pitts, DS Anthony, DS Mchahon, Ds stachowitz! All the Ds there were the shit. DS Romani wasn't there my cycle. I got sent to Korea. What about you?

  • ahh, i remember all but DS anthony, they were all the shit... i seriously had fun in AIT with them

you didn't see DS robsinson though, that was twisted stuff there, she pushed ya, but you couldn't show motivation when you were smoked...

  • yo the fat ds that smoke yall for no reason got a discharge for not passing pt, and ds jarvis married an mp and is now ds hoyt lol god if you kno guido get back at me

  • hmm ds mchman? he was pretty cool. I loved drinking so much in AIT I got wasted at the bowling alley on 2 hour passes.

  • nah it was ds robinson she was a bitch in a half

  • WHAT!!! DS Jarvis married a MP!?!?! Hes my second fav DS, even though hes a reseverist.

    "KILL THE WABBITS!!"

  • LMFAO

man they threatened DS robinson with a discharge back when i went over a year ago

DS McMahon, he just got in during the middle of our cycle, he was a kickass guy, nice as hell for us

  • WHAT!! DS Jarvis was your favorite? She was a bitch to my platoon. Now DS pitts, DS McMahon and DS Lukashow were the shit. I liked DS Anthony but he called me smiley for he whole cycle cuz he caught me smiling one time and i got my ass smoked for that one..lol

  • When did ya'll graduate from this ECO 35th?

  • august 20th

  • DS jarvis was a mean man bitch.... who says "suck my dick" way too much to be a woman... and in my cycle... DS mcmahon picked up a private by his collar when there was a fight... DS pitts was short but was a badass dude lol... theres a new drill DS in E plt now named DS wempe... hes a badass sapper ... his class a's... must weigh a ton with all his decorations lol... but you guys are forgetting the tall dumbass... DS jubinville LMFAO... he tripped at our graduation ceremony xD lmfao

  • I HEAR THAT! the first time i heard that i was... well... like "wtf?!?" the first time i saw her a year before that she was only an E5 who didn't say alot... going back to AIT... she was quite vocal...

    More evidence McMahon kicks ass

a DS wempe eh? nice... we had one like that... a DS Romani, he ended up winning DS of the year back in 06

DS jubinville was kinda new my AIT, maybe the cycle before... i don't have alot to say about him... never really had much dealings with the other plts DSs

  • Echo 35th graduate here! Feb 08 Or jan can't remember. All I gotta say is "that's bullshit private" SFC Fartini!

  • I hardly remember DS Fatini, I think he was gone for most of our cycle if I remmeber right, that or he came in after we were done with our cycle.

he had the Chevy with the Steeler's on it right?

  • Hey great video, im thinking of becoming a Combat Engineer myself in the Australian army. i was just curious if you could tell me what sorta stuff you do on a regular dayly basis and whats the best part about it?

keep up the good work mate

  • daily? i'm national guard, but, if you wanted to know... paperwork, various training, it just depends on what you are

  • good to go, keep it up boys..semper fidelis!

  • hahahaha knee pads.....lmao! oh and no sound?

  • yeah, it was SOP, that we had to wear them, and ballistics, regardless of where we were, while wearing the ACH...

the fact that there is no sound is due to the fact that they couldn't sell us the DVD with any music, due to copyright laws

  • tireman, as far as i'm concerned, IF you are a member of the military, you are a disgrace to your fellow bretheren, and your countryman, you are not a member of my armed forces

i'd rather make fun of hadji's than soldiers

    go live in shame, coward

  • Tireman649, post one more time on my video and i'll have you reported, i'm not up for this "which MOS is better" crap, we all serve, and regardless the MOS, we're all doing the same crap over there, just ask people who were supposed to get desk jobs

  • Infants: OMG what do we do, what do we do, were all going to die, this could explode, "I CANT READ"!!! !

Engineer: Walks over slips 2 pins in the mine, walks away saying "fucking Infants"!

Infants: They didnt teach us that at Benning? Well they do require a higher ASVAB score!

Again 649 you stink of envy!

  • 649, you havent been able to answer my questions, and by far you proved your "envy" by posting in a Combat Engineer Post! Your attempts to slander Combat Engineers and me with nothing more then 5th grade talk is about what I expected for a infant! I challenged you to find me wrong and you cant, because you know Combat Engineers do what you Cant or to Afraid to do! Like I said SMART INFANTRY, PROVE ME WRONG! Soldier UP smart ass!

  • Ahh memories. Excalibur now huh? It was toros when went in 04. 2nd platoon was the bullpen. seeing the bailey go up reminded me of when one of the other platoons bridge didnt quite make it across.

  • dephy2003 I was 2nd platoon 2000 "Echo Toro Discipline Strong"! Bullpen then as well, I bunked right across from it!

I will never forget our company rounder the corner sounding bad ass "Hey Hey Lock & Load The Engineers are ready to go" as the MPs were havening graduation (MPs were on the other side of the yard) with their family's, we were sounding off very loud, they all were watching us, boy were there girlfriends fat, only the infants have fatter girls then that!

  • Exactly without em your nuts would break! Not only that they are the cup too cuz they prOtect you from them landmines! lol! Retard!!!

  • I guess being a cutting edge soldier is not your idea of serving? Whos telling stories? What have I lied about? Plz put me in my place with my grand lies for everyone to see! Tell everyone Sappers have no balls, tell everyone the infants would have gotten them selfs off the beaches at Normandy! Engineers do the stuff everyone else is scared to do! Face it you didnt score enough on your ASVAB to go to FLW ! I bet you carry a 88M challenge coin! Prove me Wrong! 21B's and want-a-bes!

  • "Serving in this MOS As An Army Combat Engineer Your Going To Blow Stuff Up, Drive Cool Shit, Kill Bad People And Be The Envy Of All Branches Of The Services" U.S.A.R. E-35TH 2000-2006 (12-B & 21-B)

    !ESSAYONS!

ARMY COMBAT ENGINEERS CLEAR THE WAY!

  • You're fuckin right! I want this to be my MOS when I join the military. What should I study up on to score good on the ASVAB, in order to quality for this MOS?

  • The ASVAB is done 2 ways written and on a PC, I know some inside secrets , its not cheating. Write my youtube account and I will give you some pointers that WILL help. I took the ASVAB 3 times, 2 times I passed but let the time run out on them and the 3rd time I got "tips" and scored high enough to do ANY job I wanted. At the time I only had a High School education. As well anyone else that needs some Tricks and Tips just write me. I chose 12B cuz of Grandfather, 36th WWII, look it up!

  • infantry is the envy, dont try and compair.. there is infantry than there is support

  • Combat Engineers are "Smart INFANTRY"! We do everything the infants do but with explosives on our back and skills beyond the mind of your average infant!

Combat Engineers are FIRST into battle "Clearing The Way"!

    Not my opinion, it's History!

  • keep telling yourself that, maybe youll grow a sack and reclass

  • History dont lie! Tell me why i'm wrong! OSUT out of the box, Combat engineers are trained to do everything Infants do plus build and blow up, drive just about every tracked and wheeled engine driven machine, work with robots, list gos on! We bust down doors, jump from fixed & rotary, deployed amphibious! Yea infants are better why? Smart Infantry, Engineers are combat multipliers! Prove me wrong! Anyone who serves knows the envy the Combat Engineer gets! You stink of envy!

  • Engineers for thirty years, we live in caves and ditches. We wipe our ass with broken glass, we're dirty sons-a-bitches.

  • We are, we are, we are, we are, we are the Engineers.

We can, we can, we can, we can demolish 40 beers.

Drink up, drink up, drink up, drink up and come along with us

Cause we dont give a damn about any old man who dont give a damn about us!

  • Nice video, I was in Bravo 31st

  • I was E Co 35th in '90. We were the Echo Eliminators then. Had a skull on the barracks wearing a berret and 2 M-16s crossed under it

  • Built my 1ST Bailey Bridge in Viet Nam in Nov 1967.I probably built 25 more before my 11 years in the OD was over.Sappers do lead the way!

  • Holy Crap Echo Touro my old Basic 2000? Not Touro anymore? FLW? That MILES gear sucks!

  • "Sappers in the breach" God I remember those bailey bridges. Can't beleive they still train on those things.

  • how do you know about bailey bridges?

  • My dad's actually the one who commented on this video.

  • lol, i gotcha ;)

yeah, still do, even though we don't even deal with these bridges anymore

they say its to give a "taste" on how to build bridges

  • It definitely gives you a taste - and sore muscles and back after building a 2x2 EWBB. Something the MGB doesn't quite do.

    First in, last out...
