I´m not a Christian but if one wants to speak of a monotheistic faith for Egypt, this was the original one, which preserved a truly native ancient language, Coptic, without which scholars could not even have deciphered the hyerogliphs and not the Arabic culture with which Islam smashed true Egyptian identity. Christianism, when not in its radical fundamentalist forms , can get along with paganism but Islam never will, cause the core of Islam is intolerance and submission,as its own name says !!!
@Gwynsek very nice video. i'm Coptic but by the sounds of it i have to brush up on my history.... you seem to be quite knowledgeable about the copts in the space of 500 characters:) thanks for the insight... i have learned much about my Christian faith and love it but i would definitely benefit from knowing more about my heritage... do you recommend any books? where did you learn?... if you don't mind me asking. thanks
@Gwynsek i can't believe copts believe they are somehow "oppressed" when every video u check about them u find them insulting the egyptian muslims accusing them of being "invaders" when history confirms that the majority of muslim egyptians are CONVERTED copts.
so such talk is the one that causes strife and hatred in the first place
and spreading this talk between some foreigners who don't give a shit about copts or muslims, doesn't help much, but just destroying your country
@Gwynsek other thing, the changing of cultures is basic human nature, all countries world wide have been through this,
Go read history and u will know coptic people considered the arab rule a mercy from the oppression and discrimination of the roman rule against the copts.
Go read history and u will know that the Arabic culture didn't "smash" anything , but created a new civilization, called the Islamic Golden age, that time your beloved europe was in it;s dark ages.
@MrRyan666666 Oh the Andalusian paradise is a historical fallacy already debunked by serious historians, who are not committed to mainstream academic dogmas.I prefer to side with the conquered ones´ reports, the victims ´voice through the centuries, which inlcude modern Copts, with their videos, pages on Facebook and blogs showing how islamic majority and authorities have treated them and still do,the opposite of what you wrote. You´re either delusional and dogmatic or a blattant liar.
@Gwynsek No my friend, the Islamic Golden age wasn't a historical fallacy.
The Islamic Golden age, and the works of many Muslim scientists and their discoveries have been spread into Europe through El Andalus, (Spain, Portugal) and through the Crusaders.
Which later resulted the European Renaissance, Which means the European Renaissance was inspired by the ISlamic Civilization, Just like how the Muslims were inspired by the Greeks, romans and persians
@MrRyan666666 Well. I´m certainly NOT your "friend" and my reply was a link to a true scholar debunking your fallacy, while yours go on just repeating your lies.I´d rather side with enlighted scholars - like Darío Fernandez Morera - who know way better than you and have the courage to refute islamic-appeasing or compromised scholars. I´ve got more important things to do,hope the ones who still have a mind of their own check the link and research for themselves.
@Gwynsek i have no idea why the hell am i arguing with some Zionist whose brain is made up into a certain way that will never change.
nobody can deny the civiliazation of the islamic age, go search Wikipedia, "islamic golden age" it's a non bias source for FACTS, go search "list of inventions in the medieval islamic world"
@MrRyan666666 Again, you quote wikipedia only, while I gave you link to a known scholar debunking the historical fallacy, yours are ideas, serious historical research links to facts.I also find this "conversation " really useless, cause you are a islamic ideological robot, bye
@MrRyan666666 And by the way,you don´t even try to read the ones who show you the truth,it´s easier to abide by your islamic delusions, so drown peacefully in your happy dogmatism !
@Gwynsek and just like how the greeks and romans were inspired by the ancient egyptian and so on..
At the time of the Islamic Golden age, Europeans were in their dark ages, considering diseases a "punishment" from God, not to be treated.
Quote : Bertrand Russel : ""From India to Spain, the brilliant civilization of Islam flourished. What was lost to christendom at this time was not lost to civilization, but quite the contrary"
@Gwynsek Countries' authorities had been discriminating the Copts somehow, but these same authorities had been torturing, killing and oppressing the whole nation , regardless their religion.
Because they were a bunch of dictators, but they are gone now, hopefully.
@Gwynsek And about the rights of LGBT, first of all, we have never heard of some group, asking for their rights publicly, i guess they exist, but they don't show it publicly because they know it's against their religion, either Christianity or Muslims, or they try to seek treatment.
@Gwynsek Another thing, the treatment of minorities world wide has always been considered harsh to them, ESPECIALLY, the treatment of Arabs and Muslims in the USA and Europe,
They were not only discriminted, but accused of being terrorists and being looked as evil scum, and racist treatment is considered "okay" if it is directed to them, just because some sickos who turned out to be muslim (we r not even sure) blew up 2 buildings ,
@MrRyan666666 Hum you mean the total lack of women and lgbt´s rights in the huge majority of muslim countries is a practice of a minority ? You´re ridiculous, and by the way, throwing acid in women´s faces, cutting their noses and ears, cutting thieves limbs are all widespread crimes (cutting limbs are sanctioned by Sharia) in orthodox muslim countries , thoroughly DOCUMENTED IN VIDEOS AND REPORTS BY VICTIMS and even have become front page in magazines.I´m sick and tired of your lies
@Gwynsek l live in a muslim majority country and i never heard of someone "throwing acid, cutting limbs, noses, or whatever" unless that person is a sicko, and it's never associated with religion. Just like all countries around the world, sickos exist everywhere.
Cutting limbs are sanctioned by Sharia !? cutting what limb !? wtf are u talking about ?
@MrRyan666666 h you are truly delusional, I guess there is no way of trying to have a sane conversation with someone who denies things which have been widely reported, filmed, documented (lots of videos on youtube, truthtube, etc)front pages in magazines and the clear passages of Sharia demanding cutting of limbs, shootings of such instances and even official beheadings in Saudi Arabia, boys carrying cut off limbs and laughing ,others shoting allah is great while beheading tied up people, etc, etc.
@MrRyan666666 Oh by the way,one crazy loonie blew buildings in Norway but whole muslim countries kill lgbts and you still try to defend Islam by focusing on terrorism,it´s disgusting.Your ideology has shaped the Middle East into lgbt killing societies and secularism drowns in cultures which stifle it,even when they claim to have secular laws.
@Gwynsek i just said, lgbts never show it publicly because they know it's against their religion, whether they are CHRISTIANS or MUSLIMS. so i never heard of some gay got killed, simply because they never show it.
besides u shouldn't criticize muslims for this, because religious christians and jews, believe in this too.
@MrRyan666666 Hum try and watch the film where three gays are burnt alive in Iraq on youtube and the many hangings of homosexuals in Iran, etc. And if they showed, thus this mean they have the right to kill them? As I said,in Christians countries there are fundamentalists but also many christians and jews who became progressive, while in your countries, they still kill lgbts, and only in Africa officials call for the killings of lgbts, but even then ,due to international pressure they haven´t so far.
@Gwynsek so you are against the belief of fighting gays as a whole, you better go and fight the abrahamic religions instead, because those who christians, jews and muslims who don't believe in this, don't believe in religion at all, so they better turn atheists.
@MrRyan666666 You are so ignorant you never heard of Reformist Judaism and the progressive christian churches who have come to accept lgbts, but not that I care for it,I´m a proud taoist, which above all is a spiritual philosophy, more than a religion.Spirituality is just an inner enterprise, organized religions something quite different and independent from it. And I support hinduism and all its sister religions. What I´ll never respect is your political ideology,Political Islam from the outset.
@Gwynsek u just made me laugh when u said " Reformist Judaism and the progressive christian churches who have come to accept lgbts"
seriously ?? wtf ?? According to religion, since when HUMAN, decide to change the principles of religion !?! since when the have the choice to CHOOSE to whether accept someone or not !?!!??!
@MrRyan666666 Well you made me laugh even more, cause religion is all man made and people make the different strands of it,whether progressive or fundamentalist, even what you call Christianism is the result of highly edited sources and games of power of different sects and clerics in power, the Apocrypha being just one feature of this truth, the most ancient Christian sect could be the Ebionim,a jewish vegetarian sect persecuted by the Graeco-roman church father, till they smashed it on 400CE !LOL
If you don't agree with what your religion says, FROM THE VERY BEGINNING,. not after PICKING AND CHOOSING from it, to recreate a new virgin of Christianity\Judaism that goes along with your desires, this equals Distortion of religion my friend.
Whether you accept all of it, or you just leave it.
You seem to choose religion as a book of morals, instead of choosing religion as a PATH TO THE INTERNAL TRUTH.
@MrRyan666666 I don´t need to follow religions cause I have my own discernment and spiritual experiences, somehthing you will never know,as you depend on some prophet´s visions .Wise people compare and muse upon ,blind people follow.
@MrRyan666666 LOLOl,quite the opposite, here I entered the realm of true mystics who don´t need to rely on books written by humans but prefer the legitimate path of first-hand individual experience with spiritual reality ,while you remain in the realm of blind followers of the dead written word, bye !LOLOL
@Gwynsek besides let's just be real in this, Homosexuality is not a "healthy" thing,
Homosexual person, turn a young child, who doesn't have sexual preferences yet, into a gay person in the future, and if we kept into this circle for long, people who refuse to seek treatment turning others into gays, after decades, birth rate will decrease and it will eventually cause the extinction of the human race
@MrRyan666666 Oh my,I´m splitting my sides, here, well, not even the mainstream psychiatric and health organizations have gone beyond this awful attitude of yours!
