  • its a home server why does it need a big heatsink when its only transfering files.

  • @rysliv

It doesn't need the big heatsink, I just had it lying around, plus I wanted something that could run passively (no noise)

  • @cbutters yeah explains that... nice idea

  • Yes someone who uses Seasonic! Lol...the obsession with Corsairs has been killing me, even if Corsair is manufactured by Seasonic....still not the same. =P

  • @LauxHawk Yay! Seasonic! I always make it a point to use seasonic if I possibly can.

  • is it easy to build a server?

  • Nice video anyway.

  • To be honest I hate using Windows as a server as well, but since I have Windows systems because my family is still used to that, I have to have one server running Windows as a ADDS domain controller for these machines because Samba can't be a domain master in one of these yet...

If you have to use Windows, I'd probably understand your reasons, but I still prefer running Linux, not because its an obligation, because it is better than Windows and I don't have to pay any money. =)

  • maybe you should do a google search for "enterprise server os market share", you will see reports that windows holds 65-70% marketshare.

  • another quote " she said, noting that today Windows owns about 70 percent, Linux about 20 percent, with Unix below 10 percent and Netware barely registering."

  • Oracle is the majority when it comes to databases. Oracle runs on linux and unix. However SQL Server is second when it comes to databases, (which obviously runs windows server) when you are talking file servers and workstations for the average business, windows is where it is at. Me saying that windows is the majority player is a lot less ignorant than saying that you "dont use windows on servers..."

  • how do u make the ssd drive

  • how do you install windows on a flash drive

  • well dont use windows on servers....

  • ? Obviously you don't work in the IT sector. Most companies use windows server to get things done, especially their database and file servers. Yes I know there are benefits to Linux and Unix sytems, but you can't just ignore windows servers which is the majority player.

  • what are the total costs?

  • I have a brisbane core in my athlon x2, which does not report the correct temperature, but the ninja scythe heatsink barely gets warm to the touch.

  • What are the temps?
