  • We miss you Stanley K!

  • What a beautiful show. Thanks for sharing this.

  • pls note there was a tie for first place and that actually pushed the numbers down first.

  • If you go to buy the DVD WGI has attached the following note:

Some programs are not included in this reprint due to copyright restrictions.

Combined with my other notes that should clear it up.

  • Actually, it was 15th out of 15 at the time.

It was only hard to judge because it was the first show with all three layers (at that time) drill, dance, equip. even though it was a a very minimal level. Always keep in mind that even back then GE was 40% of the score. And it is a bad draw in prelims to go on last. Especially, when the group just on will win the whole shooting match in this year!

  • Hmmm. Was not aware of that. I wonder why when you purchase the video, there are only 14 guards on the championships...

  • My video has 15 guards on it and I repurchased it in the last couple of years. If you go to the WGI website and look at the history pages, you'll find a list of the top 15 for those years.

  • so who is my video missing? I show: 1- state street review 2- odyssey 3- miller's blackhawks 4- royal guardsmen 5- st anthonys imperials 6- anthron 7- guardsmen 8- threshold 9- avatar 10- emerald marquis 11- canadaigua academy 12- admiral 13- seville 14- NWPMC
  • Looks like you're missing Blessed Sac in 4th which pushes everyone else down a place

  • yes. you are correct. And it is funny because we all used to love Sac back in the day. I had wondered what happened to them that year when I got my video. Now I feel cheated! I was aware that VK did not floor a guard that year, so I figured that to follow suit with the drum corps, Sac just went away into history. Thanks for the update!

  • Blessed Sac used music by Sheila E and Vanity Six. All those songs were written and produced by Prince. Prince gives NO ONE permission to use his music. Hell, he sued a mom who posted a video of her toddler danging to Let's Go Crazy on YouTube.

  • Thanks for the video, I think you know how much it means to some of us. It is great to finally see us perform. Now, I can see why we were hard to judge.
