  • It actually depends on how much sh*t you have installed- I own a mac now! :D

  • what does a ibook g4 need to run leopard

  • @djrover25 a leopard software cd

  • Responder a este vídeo...

  • when are they going to get a gurreck or narglatch? lol :p ok star wars joke

  • both are stupid slow compared to pc lol

  • i dont speak spanish...which one is which...

  • I still love Tiger. For me it was the best of all OS X releases. Fast as hell, stable and reliable.

  • cant wait till lion

  • @dragonmaster9288 As they are removing Rosetta completely (and Frontrow but that's not important to me), won't even let it run in os X.7, I can wait 'till lion, 'cuz I'll stay with SL as long as possible. :)

  • i can't wait for LION roar

  • @midnightBMW me 2

  • Please make another video in english

  • so Tiger OS on the left is faster boot up then Leopard OS on the right?

  • not comparable sorry, 2 different spec machines and 2 os's. no game. try 2 same machines 2 different os's would be a better match.

  • @TheJacobHolmes you don't get it do you? Tiger would be faster even if it was put on the same machine as leopard. Leopard is all eye-candy, Tiger is some eye-candy with more speed and functionality.

  • @sonic3243 i do get it, im just simply saying you shouldn't do a comparison video with so many different variables. and eye candy is good :D because tiger looks old and outdated by today's standards.

  • Tiger Wins

  • See at the start of the video - The machine running tiger (2.16Ghz) started 2-3 seconds after the machine running leopard (2.2Ghz) but yet the one on the left still booted faster.

  • I use Tiger and snow leopard, and I fink Leaopard and Snow Leopard is lots of lots better than the tiger. I do fink tiger is good, but leopard is better, and also the tiger boots faster cuz its less features and programs (or less advanced apps) than the leopard (and snow) : ) 

  • i don' really think that a boot up test proves much

  • Leopard seemed to be problematic. Snow Leopard boots up a lot faster than Leopard did for me. Tiger wasn't as advanced as Leopard and SL though, so it didn't have as much to load at bootup I think.

  • PC!!!!!!

  • these boot up tests prove nothing.

  • @ Nadav34

Your just jealous that your pc takes minutes to boot while us mac users are ready in about 20 seconds

  • PC? My friend, I have 2008 Mac Pro 3.2 Ghz w/ 4 SSD drives, 32GB mem.

  • @Nadav34 cooooool

  • Have you ever noticed that when the Leopard dock comes up it jolts a little bit, but Tiger's dock is always smooth and slides right up.

  • Who cares about how much time it s boot up What i really consider that is important is that the macbooks are very helpfull For me If my mac Gets Boot up un 45 seconds or 35 or minus it is good for me :D

  • Two things:

Try comparing features. Leopard beats it then....

Though it's MAD how fast the MacBook boots Tiger!!!!

When I get a MacBook, I'll dual boot Tiger and Leopard like I do on my PowerBook G4 now!

  • you cant, theres no drivers for the 9400m on tiger

  • Oh..

Either way, I'm getting an iMac in a few months, so Leopard will go fast anyway!

  • snow leopard**

  • On my white MacBook Tiger booted up around 18seconds, Leopard around 48.

  • It's true Tiger boots faster than Leopard but now 10.5.7 is faster in booting than the first release ;)

  • Can't Wait!....Till Snow Leopard Comes Out!!!

  • install it on the epoard macbook and run anoother boot test

  • @mattyu21 it is out!

  • @mattyu21 i can't wait intel lion comes out

  • @AaronParvinTv me 2

  • @AaronParvinTv wow! so now intel makes OS for apple... mmmm

  • @mattyu21 dude itz allready out lol

  • @mattyu21 Haha this is a old comment xD

  • @mattyu21 already came out

  • It's a real pitty that me and many other owners of a power pc can't look foward to 10.6 Snow Leopard.

  • cause its not gonna have that many drastic changes

  • Haha. But it does. Did you see the keynote the other day? HUGE!

  • get with today.. buy a new computer like you should every 4 years

  • i think it's wrong that apple has just abandoned it's long time users! they could simply make 2 versions of 10.6 if they were scared of bloatware

  • Agreed. Anyway it dosent bother me, it's their loss because I'm just going to build a hackintosh. As far as I'm concerned they had their chance. I mean the producers of leo4all are already working on Snow Leopard.

  • i have tiger but have used leopard. Leopard is a lot better

  • slower at startup but the new features and look more than makes up!

  • different specs

    i lol'd

    stupid french/spanish people

  • wrong, the leopard one has 4GB. If you don't belive me, copy/paste the text to google translator

  • Tiger and leopard are versions of mac operating system. The "Leopard"is the new one.

  • tiger and leopards are both animals. they look like big cats. this video shows that a leopard would kick a tiger's ass, unless its a Bengal tiger which in that case the leopard is fucked.

  • Yeah...you think thats slow...

I have a 2.6ghz Gateway FX Desktop with 4gb of ram running Vista Ultimate. By the time you put your computers on and turned them off...mine would have just been logging onto windows...

  • do u have viruses or something cause ur specs seem fine... look into iatkos if ur interested in running leopard on ur pc

  • lol i have a 160 gig hdd, and 1 gig ram think about how slow that is :P

  • lol i have 894 mb ram and my pc boots in about 33 secs ¬¬' turn off programs like messenger and you will be fine...

  • I have the same problem =( OS X Leopard is slower

  • well... it has more features than tiger. did u expect the new features to use no ram and not utilize the CPU? any OS will run slower than the last version.

  • I think that's basically going to be the point in Snow Leopard. With i7 coming out they can optimize the whole OS to be really fast and use as little resource as possible. I suppose this couldn't be done before and for now they had to sacrifice speed for features. Maybe the only glaring similarity between Leopard and Vista. Both Vista and W7 will basically be the previous OS' only much more efficient.

  • they wont leave the dual core people behind, but it might be a little bit slower. if they built it for i7, snow leopard will be the next vista.

because my PC has i7... and let me tell you.... i7 is a beast.

  • well that is until snow leapoard comes out

  • apple apesta

  • So if I understand it correctly

Core 2 Duo 2.2Ghz with 4GB RAM on Leopard

    runs slower than

Core 2 Duo 2.16Ghz with 1GB RAM on Tiger

That's so absurd, it could even possibly be the 2.16Ghz Dual Core, previous gen CPU . . . . WTF??? who can explain this to me . . . . . I want to go back to Tiger now.

  • no

Leopard is the one with 1GB

This guy just doesnt know what he is doing.

  • wrong, the leopard one has 4GB. If you don't belive me, copy/paste the text to google translator

  • if i understand this correctly. Tiger is running with 4 GB RAM, and Leopard with 1 GB RAM. HARDLY a fair test.

  • you didn't. Tiger is running with 1 GB and Leopard with 4 GB

    salu2

  • Early build? I haven't looked a whole lot at the start up times of Tiger vs the early Leopard builds.

  • im assuming leopard is on the left am i correct?

  • no.

    leopard a la derecha

    leopard on the right

  • could be that leopard had installed so many programs like games, etc... and the tiger no.....there was this possible...¬¬

  • Tiger is stable and can do everything I need it to do. I also the a huge problem with the new dock in leopard. I wish the dock was flat on top like in tiger. Less distracting. I also don't like the dark gray bars on top of windows as it makes the black text harder to read.

  • shut up

  • download dock library and you can change your dock

  • duh leopard... its newer sherlock!

  • Mac OS X Tiger and Windows XP sucks I use Leopard only

  • Im sure it takes a little longer to build a BMW, than it does a FORD.

Once the extra few seconds are done booting, Leopard is out of this world.

    Period!

  • yup and that much longer leopard takes booting only makes leopard that much better than tiger

  • Yeah but Leopard Overall is faster, in boot time no, but executing it is!

  • A la izquierda (left) un Macbook core2duo 2.16ghz 1gb de ram 160gb de disco duro.

A la derecha (right) un Macbook Core2Duo 2.2ghz 4gb de ram 120gb de disco duro.

    MEANS

    Left is 1gb ramm

    right is 4 gb ramm

  • That is why I prefer Tiger but still waiting for Snow Leo. Cheers!

  • It's been common knowledge that the boot time for Leopard is longer than tigers. I think Leopard offers significant improvements that more than make up for the extra 15 seconds of boot time, but to each his own I suppose. Looking forward to 10.6 as well though!

  • We have a winner here, but either way they're both a whole lot faster than a PC... in this case a laptop...

  • Leopard is pointless.

Apple should improve the CPU using % as the Snow Leopard is coming out.

  • when i go and buy a computer , booting up time is the last thing i think of haha

  • what a fucking tosser. it doesn't fucking matter. boot time is effing irrelevant. doesn't mean a bloddy thing

  • wow tiger was slow but way faster than vista.

    nicce vid =]

  • Leopard was slower in the vid than Tiger.

  • it was?

My Macbook has 4gb of ram, intel core2duo 2.2ghz (santarosa) november 2007.

Other Macbook 2.16ghz 1gb of ram and Tiger installed.

  • this is Spanish language right O_O

  • You'd really be a whole lot different if you were to learn two languages...

HA I speak alot better than the average American... and I'm Mexican!

    beat that muahaha

  • yes, tiger does boot faster (and shutsdown faster) than leopard. Noticed it when i upgraded to leopard on my imac

  • Are those both Generation 4 MacBooks?

  • Hahahahahaha, great comment!

    Thumb up for you!

  • Great comment!

    Thumb up for you!

  • lol!

  • Speed is more dependent on the hardware (Processor, ram, etc) than it is on the software.

  • hahhahahahahahha

    lmao at the below comment.

  • No comprendo Mucho espanol.

  • leopard comes with more stuff, which makes it slower to boot up. but leopard overall is better than tiger.

  • incredible!!!

  • my leopard boots faster than tiger does. I have a core 2 duo 2.2Ghz MacBook with 2GB RAM it takes about 8-10 seconds

  • Are you sure?

  • Learn Spanish first

  • Tiger is still better at the moment.

Im waiting till leopard get better updates then im upgrading.

I don't see any reason too yet.

  • time machine! thats the reason

  • Wow thank you captain obvious. Leopard is faster than Tiger on an Intel mac, slower than Tiger on a PPC mac.

  • Well duh... of course that's going to happen. Look at the specs.

  • Well, I have one thing to say. They're both faster than Windows, booting-up and shuting-down.

  • but leopard is better than tiger=P

  • :( pues a mi me va mas rapido leopard que tger..

  • k thx lol

  • leapard actually shutdown before tiger slightly.
