What a brilliant innitiative. £125 per child is a fantastic investment. I have worked in nurseries with three year olds - many children came into our setting never having held a book, knowing how to hold it the right way up, turn pages etc. This would ENSURE books get into young children's homes at the earliest and most crucial age. It's never to early to share books. I hope my local authority takes on this innitiative.
