  • yeah, ask the ratepayers of Rotherham who're bank rolling this if it's as good as t'Leader sez. Oh, by the way, the books are only supplied in English, and yet we have nearly one-fifth of the town's children who's first language ain't English - still a good scheme? I don't think so.

  • What a brilliant innitiative. £125 per child is a fantastic investment. I have worked in nurseries with three year olds - many children came into our setting never having held a book, knowing how to hold it the right way up, turn pages etc. This would ENSURE books get into young children's homes at the earliest and most crucial age. It's never to early to share books. I hope my local authority takes on this innitiative.
