I love how not only did these motors (be it a V-12 or a V-10) have more cylinders than the current V-8s, but they were also allowed to rev right up past the 20,000 mark. You can definitely hear a clear difference in the pitch of the sound of the motor before each upshift. If they won't bring V-12s back to F1, they should at least let us hear the sound of these V-8s revving past 20 grand.
The fist and last clips are from the same recording of Michael Schumacher testing his car which was circa 2000 or 2001. I've had the clip since then and it's definitely a V10. I could be persuaded that the second clip is a V12, although from my experience it sounds like a V10. Engines were 3.0L V10s from 95 to 06 and both clips are definitely post 95. The V12s were only ever 3.5L.
Actually the last V12 to be used in F1 was the only V12 with a 3000cc (3.0 litre) displacement, which was the 1995 Ferrari. Never sounded as rich as the 3.5 litre cars of 1989-1994, but still 0:55 and onwards is most certainly the sound of the 1995 V12 Ferrari engine.
@ArosaMike0:55 onwards is 100% V12 engine power. Bring back the old days, not liking these V8s - who gives a shit about the environment, a few of these engines on the track a lock of times a year isn't gonna hurt anyone/anything :D
@jamesmksmith But billions of road cars following the same technolgy will - its time for f1 to go electric - the glory days of the 1989-1991 Honada and Ferrari 3.5 litre V10/V12s are a golden memory that today's cars fail to live up to anyway - so unless they go back to those magnicient beasts - id rather see something new and interesting from electric motors.
Just to address some of the comments. All the audio is actually of a V10 Ferrari, not a V12. I can promise you this since I downloaded the original from the guy who recorded it. I have also heard the V10s many many times first hand. The photos were taken by me apart from the first one, hence why most are of the 2007 car (a V8). The first picture though is of a V10 Ferrari circa 2003 or 2004 I believe which is around the same time as this recording. Thanks for looking!
No, it is definitlry a Ferrari V12. If you still think I'm talking crap, search up Ferrari V12 sound on Youtube, click on it and you will find it sounds exactly the same as the clips at the end of your video. However, don't worry. I'm not criticising you for including V12 sound clips in your video and niether is anyone else. The V12 made a beautiful sound, so it's great to here it here! You should just rename the video too V10 & V12 Ferrari F1 Car Sound Clips - High Quality Audio!
Ohhhh I love that V12 at the end. I wish my fourwheeler sounded like that. I live in a town filled with POS Chev 350's with 2Barrel carbs. The fastest car in town is a 2002 WS6 with a 100 shot. If I had this in my town at night, everybody would call the cops saying they can hear a space ship.
Thank You for this beautiful music!!!

The last two sound clips were from the 1995 Ferrari V12, same displacement though.

Interesting you say that because the 1st and last clip are the same recording but split in two....

I'm convinced that the sound clip from 0:24 - 0:54 is that of a V10.
But from 0:55 onwards, it definitely sounds like a 1995 Ferrari (V12), at least to me.
