  • Can anyone tell me where I can get a copy of the original footage?

  • @stanleysnapple Try arawasi.com under On Sale then DVD, far better quality than from VHS HTH!

  • @stanleysnapple Sorry it's arawasi.jp

  • Ki-61 is a wonderful plane.I like it far more than the Zero.

    Is there any survivor?

  • @sgtkar98

My list show five survivors, although it may not be up-to-date. As part of the restoration, one of the five is being used to eventually construct a few replicas for flight. I believe they plan to use the German DB-601 engine instead of the license-built Kawasaki Ha-40 engines.

  • 格好いいですね。ローパスなんか航空祭よりもいい。

    元気な日本!ここにあり。

  • Historically, an incredibly valuable record of those times.

Currently, rich 'food for thought' for those who want to learn about these times.

Even the music is 'of those times', uplifting and bouyant, despite the hardships.

    Regards,

  • this plane was very successful against B29 raids in home defense. Shigeo Nobe downed three in one mission 1 by shooting 2 by ramming(the first plane crashed into another)his port wing half sheared off he miraculously made it back to base!he got a Bokosho award and further ramming units (Hagakure-tai Tokkotai)were commisioned.
