  • That is a great view!!! Right to the west, all the down to south Flushing Meadows (Arthur Ashe Stadium, The Unisphere, NY State Pavilion, etc., etc). You captured the area at the right time of the day (or early evening).

But, as for Shea...it was time for it to go away for good. By 2000 it was an absolute mess! It's nice the fans--NOT the actual team, the Metropolitans, MISSED THE PLAYOFFS AGAIN--gave it a nice send-off in 2008 & at the very end early last year (2009). Very sad...

  • Rest in Peace old friend

  • goodbye shea we will miss you

    from a yankee fan

  • I think I parked in Center field yesterday (Opening Day). It felt weird walking through Center Field, and to finally walk through what used to be Shea.

  • Thanks for the video .

It still looks surreal . As i spent many days at the ballpark coming from the train hearing the cheer of fans while watching the Mets.

  • watching shea go is like having that friend and you know your never going to see them again and you and your friend were really close

  • Great job :)

  • Very well done!

Great that you have access to getting in to Citi Field to take these.

  • Thanks for posting this. A sad but poignant moment. I'm looking forward to Citi Field but still sad to see the old girl go. Theres nothing like your first love.

I see this was taken from atop Citi Field Are you part of the crew?
