  • I love the humour expressed in this painting

  • @Missuspoodle Thanks for your appreciation!

  • I don't know why but that is beautiful.

  • You have spirits of Padashenren.

  • Thanks! Pada Shanren is my favorite Chinese painting master.

  • cool work. way to use shape and line makes it really interesting. its a well abstracted image.

  • great impressions/characters! I love the drama of black on white especially.

  • very nice

  • this time you didn't use a chinese brush right? (maobi)

Well done, you're a very good teacher! :)

One question, before you start you already picture what you want in your mind? And also do you use reference pictures?

    Thanks

  • You are right. I was using a western watercolor brush with acrylic paints(not ink). I find hat the strong fiber Chinese mulberry paper is very suitable for painting animals with its texture and it is as tough as fabric. Good for arylic painting. (See my website or ebay store for details).

  • To answer your second question, yes, I have both mind picture and reference pictures. Routine practice is very importamt. A good painting always comes out of numerous NGs.Actually this was my third attempt yesterday morning.Thank you!

  • beautiful which would you rather paint on, paper or cloth? :)

  • I like to paint on any thing, with any brush and medium:-)

  • :-)
