MJ's best team mates were Pippen, Grant, Harper, Rodman, Kerr and Paxson
Kobe's: Shaq, Fisher, Gasol, Bynum, Artest, Odom, Horry, Grant, Fox and a washed up Malone. But im not taking anything away from malone since he was able to hold duncan to 17.5 pts on 38% shooting, this was duncan's prime actually
The thing that separates Kobe and Jordan is that Jordan played against SO MANY great players and the competition was very difficult back then. As for kobe, he is the best when compared to mediocre all-stars who don't compare to players who jordan faced. And on top of that the refs impact the game now alot more then back then when it was more physical. If Kobe was playing back when jordan was in his prime then i doubt they would even be compared.

@MsLush82 sorry but Kobe Bryant < Michael Jordan, look at the stats, the accomplishments. And also look at who both players had on their teams when they won their championships. Jordan was the ONLY person to publicly express that he was HAPPY Bird was retiring. Youtube it, faggot.
@kantwu Hey fuckhead can you read? I am talking about MJ the player not the Chicago Bulls...You cannot compare the talent level of the 80's Boston teams with the 80's Bulls you fucking gayrod. You flip Jordan and Bird and the same shit happens. I love how people are too stupid to realize what someone is trying to say.
@123rezo321 Ofcourse nobody that ha splayed so far is a better basketball player than MJ....However give me Kobe in his prime any day of the week over Lebrick
@chitownref Maybe it hasn't occurred to you that Bird was the reason that Jordan didn't get any rings untill 1991 in which year he was injured twice (once in the regular and once in the post season).
@MBogdos96 Bird was the reason??? I think the greatness of the Celtics as a team was one of the reasons the Bulls didn't win any rings in the 80's. I am not comparing titles or teams here for god sake, I am comparing individual skills. Do you think for one minute that if Chicago drafted Bird on those horrible early 80's Bulls teams that he would have gotten 3 rings by 1986? No way in hell. All I am saying is that Larry was great great player but nobody yet is better than MJ...as a player!
@chitownref Yeah, ok, but, why did it take Jordan 7 years to get a great team built around him (and develop enough to be not only the scoring leader of his team) to win championships, but only took Bird 4 years, in a league that much more competitive than the NBA in the 90's? What's your opinion?
@MBogdos96 First off in the time period you're talking about Jordan had no influence yet on personal decisions and he was never the GM so Jordan really had nothing to do with bringing in players or drafting them in the first 5 years of his career. Also the owner of the Bulls who drafted Jordan sold the team the next year so it took Reinsdorf a while to clear out the shit. It took them 5 years to bring a center bigger than 6'10" ...continued
@MBogdos96 & to stop bringing in point guard after point guard before finally settling on Paxson & addressing other needs like role players off the bench. It also took time Pippen & Grant to mature, remember it was in their 4th year & Cartwright's second full season with the team that the Bulls won their first title. Also every coach before Jackson was like get the ball to MJ & get the fuck out of the way. It was also Jackson's second full season as coach.
@MBogdos96 You can't blame MJ for the organization's slowness or the previous owner's mistakes.Remember had Bird played the year he was actually drafted the it would have taken him 5 years, the Celts had a whole year to get ready for Bird's arrival & they were horrible during the 78/79 which should have been Bird's first year but he decided to return to college & they got another high draft pick. Then in 80 & 81 they acquire Parish and draft Ainge and Mchale & 84 DJ, a great job by Auerbach.
@chitownref Even if all that you say may be, i still think that the only person MJ has to blame for not influencing the GMs' desisions is him self. Because ( as much as i hate to admit it) a great player can always influence team decisions by either requesting a trade or not re-singing with his team (like LeBron, he wasn't happy with the team he had so he went to Miami 'cause he wasn't getting the help he needed). So therefore, MJ could have tried a little more to get theteam that deserved.
@MBogdos96 First off no offense but that's the dumbest shit I have ever heard. Blame a player because the organization fails to make a move? Also MJ signed a 7 year 28 million dollar deal so he couldn't sign elsewhere becuz he won a title before it was up, unlike Lebrick .Lebrick played um oh yea 7 years b4 he left so if he is so mighty and powerful how come now after 8 years he still doesnt have a ring?MJ and the Bulls matured and eventually won titles,Lebrick took the easy way & still lost!
@chitownref Dude, 1st of all (no offense to the guy) but i ain't a LeBron fan. The guy goes around shooting brick all game long scoring 30 pts. on 15-60 shooting, chokes in the 4th quarter and then dares self-proclaim him self King James. He's an ignorant asshole as far as i'm concerned. Anyway, back to the original subject, i'm not blaming MJ, sure he could of singed with some random team and just make money out of his career, buthe chose to stay loyal to his team and do the hard way. continued
@chitownref So, my point being, that MJ built a great team around him before 1991 (which he did, but still got beat by the Celtics' team for 2-3 years or so), but still got beat by Bird's Celtics as long as he was healthy.
@chitownref Yeah, but Bird made the team better, he didn't need superstars on his team to win. Cedric Maxwell was the only other player on the team worth mentioning, when he went in 79. Bird turned that team around, noone else. Even in college, Bird took an average team to the NCAA finals, think Jordan could of done that, HELL NO. Jordan is great individually, but he doesn't lift a team like Bird did
@chitownref Maravich only played 26 games. Take a look at Jordan's bulls in his first year, Woolridge and Dailey posted much higher numbers than the rest of the Celtics did in Bird's first year, so Jordan had a better side than Bird in his first year, just couldn't do anything with it.
@BroomeBlocker4 Wool avgd 20 but didn't play defense and Dailey was pathetic - you try to say they were better players than what the Celtics had in 1980? You must be a kid - In Birds first year he was rookie of the year but didn't win a title - the Bulls sucked BAD - MJ soon became their hope - in his ninth pro game he scored 45 and Wool and Dailey were soon gone. entire team gone by 1988, which is only 3 yrs after MJ rook then 3 yrs later in 1991 pip and grant got better - MJ=GOAT n
@northvalleynews Yeah, he won the title in his second year. That Celtics team sucked bad, was 2nd worst team in the NBA, Bird took them from that, to best record in the NBA, he took that team to the finals in his first year. He won the title in his second year. Bird lifted the entire team. Jordan always had better players than Bird. Bird got the team involved, if not for Bird, you would never of heard of Mchale(who didn't even start his first 4 years in NBA), Parrish, Maxwell, etc
@BroomeBlocker4 - I have always loved Bird but the 1981 team was NOT bad - they had a few of the top 50 players ever including Nate Archibald, Robert Parish, Cedric Maxwell, Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Chris Ford, and Gerald Henderson. In Jordan's second season the Bulls had Woolridge, Gervin (age 33), Oakley, Rod Higgins, Sidney Green, Gene Banks, Corzine, Paxson, and Oldham. Celtics went 62-20 in 1981 and Bulls went 30-52 in 1986 . Are you STILL telling me Bird's team sucked in 1981?
@northvalleynews I said the 80 team sucked, the 81 team wasn't much better, Kevin McHale wasn't even a starter at the time, didn't start in the NBA for his first 4 years, you would never of heard of Parish and Maxwell had it not been for Bird. If you put Bird with Oakley, Paxson, Woolridge I bet you would get a much better record than 30-52. That is what Bird did, he lifted the whole team, Jordan stands out as an individual.
@BroomeBlocker4 dude mj led his team in assists in his rookie year and DUH jordan missed 64 games - Put Jordan there all season and they go at least 45-37 - but I love the way you think - but just ask Bird himself, who was 6'9" to mj's 6'5" - truly they are the two greatest ever but MJ had longevity on Bird - remember when Mj scored 51 at age38? Or 43 at 40? Bird would be in a wheelchair by the end of the season if he had played at 38
@BroomeBlocker4 also I woulda never heard of Parish - a true 7 footer in the NBA - yeah I would have but the general population might not. Maxwell......youre probably right on that one - good stuff bro
@BroomeBlocker4 ...you would have never heard of parish or maxwell if not for bird?...lmaoooo...maxwell was finals mvp over bird in the 81 finals..outscored bird in game 7 of the 84 finals,too....parish lasted 21 yrs,he came in the nba yrs before bird, and he retired yrs after bird...nobody has played more season
parish= 18.6 ppg 12.5 rpg in 88-89...when bird played in 6 games outta 82...
parish= 17.0 ppg 9.5 rpg on .544% in 1993 playoffs vs alonzo mourning...at 39 yrs old and with bird retired
@BroomeBlocker4 Nate Tiny Archibald, the UTEP legend, is still the only player to lead the NBA in assists and scoring in the same season - in 1981 he averaged .499 shooting from the field, .816 from the line, 13.8 pts and 7.7 assists. Bird put in 21.2 ppg that year on 47.8% from the field and only 27% from three. Parish put in 18.9 ppg, and Maxwell put in 15.2 ppg. McHale scored only 10.0 ppg but he did add an awesome 1.8 blocks per game!
@BroomeBlocker4 Bird is amazing and one of my faves of all time but when it came to stopping MJ anyone with eyes could always see Bird was HELPLESS - No one could stop Jordan - Bird is a better person and more humble and a great team player but Jordan was, in Bird's own words, "God disguised as Michael Jordan"
@zertul5000 Duncan is good but give me Malone any day of the week. I didnt forget about Payton and Mutumbo they just arent worth mentioning. Mutumbo was a bumbling 7 footer, just off the top of my head without thinking hard I can name 10 centers I would take over him. With his skill set the only reason he lasted was becuz of his height. Payton was a nice player, a better mention than Mutumbo, but Gary doesn't rank anywhere near the great guards.Remeber the NBA was around b4 the 90's & 2000's.
@chitownref look at the block numbers? mutumbo is a great blocker, yes but peytons defense was extraodinary, too the point jordan really didn't like him, peyton, bird and jordan trash talked the most thats y they were such good guards on D, dun u think?
@zertul5000 Mutumbo's block numbers? Who cares,he was 7 feet tall, his blocks are the only reason he lasted because the rest of his game sucked. Payton was a good player but he is not in the same league as MJ,Kobe,Oscar Robertson,Jerry West,Isiah Thomas,Magic,Bob Cousy,Earl the Pearl,John Stockton.I could go on but I think you get the point. Please tell me how trash talking makes you a good defender? Ron Harper with the Bulls talked major trash & he couldnt guard shit at that point in his career
@zertul5000 Under 30 and you think that is great? HAHA. Jordan avg 27.3 PPG in the Finals for a team that went 72-10, MJ didn't have to score huge but I don't remember (And I was an adult watching the 95/96 Finals) Payton being the main player guarding Jordan? I do believe that was Hersey Hawkins with Payton picking him up here and there dumbass and like I said letting someone AVERAGE over 27 ppg isn't great defense by any stretch of the imagination.
@zertul5000 2.8 blocks is amazing and makes him great huh? Mark Eaton averaged 3.5 blocks per game and nobody is calling him great. Hell you probably have never heard of him. Mutombo has only 214 more total blocks than Eaton and Dikembe played 7 more seasons than Eaton. Great is Hakeem who played the same number of years as Mutombo and had 600 more blocks for a 3.1 average plus he had 15,000 more points, 1400 more rebounds & 1700 more steals. Sorry but Mutombo doesnt compare to the great centers
@BroomeBlocker4 he embarrassed Bird all the time but the Celtics beat the Bulls - Jordan was young and surrounded by crap players so he wasn't embarrassed.
@BroomeBlocker4 Bird himself could never sweep Jordan - believe me in the old days they had Ainge guard Jordan for a bit, then they put Dennis Johnson on him, then they switched to Reggie Lewis and then the went to Brian Shaw and then Bird gave it a shot and then they even busted out the big guns by putting McHale on him and then Parish and then Walton - it was ALWAYS the same - 49 points, 63 points and plays like this - yound Scottie still sucked and so did Horace -
@NatisCole No Lebrick is the most overrated player ever. Kobe is a helluva a player, not up to MJ by any means, but the best 2 guard of his generation and prolly the best player of his era.
@chitownref no kobe is more over rated u hear this guy get compared to mj all the time from the media when hes not even close they only say that because of the amount of rings he has
@NatisCole Not sure how Kobe can be the most overrated with everyone saying how Lebron will retire as the GOAT ahead of MJ when he hasn't won shit yet? Yes Kobe had Shaq but MJ didn't win until he got some help too and I'll take Kobe with his game and 5 rings over Lebrick and his disappearing act anyday of the week!

MBogdos96 6 months ago
@MBogdos96 First off no offense but that's the dumbest shit I have ever heard. Blame a player because the organization fails to make a move? Also MJ signed a 7 year 28 million dollar deal so he couldn't sign elsewhere becuz he won a title before it was up, unlike Lebrick .Lebrick played um oh yea 7 years b4 he left so if he is so mighty and powerful how come now after 8 years he still doesnt have a ring?MJ and the Bulls matured and eventually won titles,Lebrick took the easy way & still lost!
chitownref 5 months ago
@chitownref Dude, 1st of all (no offense to the guy) but i ain't a LeBron fan. The guy goes around shooting brick all game long scoring 30 pts. on 15-60 shooting, chokes in the 4th quarter and then dares self-proclaim him self King James. He's an ignorant asshole as far as i'm concerned. Anyway, back to the original subject, i'm not blaming MJ, sure he could of singed with some random team and just make money out of his career, buthe chose to stay loyal to his team and do the hard way. continued
MBogdos96 5 months ago
@chitownref So, my point being, that MJ built a great team around him before 1991 (which he did, but still got beat by the Celtics' team for 2-3 years or so), but still got beat by Bird's Celtics as long as he was healthy.
MBogdos96 5 months ago
@chitownref Yeah, but Bird made the team better, he didn't need superstars on his team to win. Cedric Maxwell was the only other player on the team worth mentioning, when he went in 79. Bird turned that team around, noone else. Even in college, Bird took an average team to the NCAA finals, think Jordan could of done that, HELL NO. Jordan is great individually, but he doesn't lift a team like Bird did
BroomeBlocker4 5 months ago
@BroomeBlocker4 Right and Cowens, Archibald, Maravich, Carr didn't help Bird and Maxwell at all.
chitownref 5 months ago
@chitownref Maravich only played 26 games. Take a look at Jordan's bulls in his first year, Woolridge and Dailey posted much higher numbers than the rest of the Celtics did in Bird's first year, so Jordan had a better side than Bird in his first year, just couldn't do anything with it.
BroomeBlocker4 5 months ago
@BroomeBlocker4 Wool avgd 20 but didn't play defense and Dailey was pathetic - you try to say they were better players than what the Celtics had in 1980? You must be a kid - In Birds first year he was rookie of the year but didn't win a title - the Bulls sucked BAD - MJ soon became their hope - in his ninth pro game he scored 45 and Wool and Dailey were soon gone. entire team gone by 1988, which is only 3 yrs after MJ rook then 3 yrs later in 1991 pip and grant got better - MJ=GOAT n
northvalleynews 5 months ago
@northvalleynews Yeah, he won the title in his second year. That Celtics team sucked bad, was 2nd worst team in the NBA, Bird took them from that, to best record in the NBA, he took that team to the finals in his first year. He won the title in his second year. Bird lifted the entire team. Jordan always had better players than Bird. Bird got the team involved, if not for Bird, you would never of heard of Mchale(who didn't even start his first 4 years in NBA), Parrish, Maxwell, etc
BroomeBlocker4 5 months ago
Are you STILL telling me Bird's team sucked in 1981?
northvalleynews 5 months ago
@northvalleynews I said the 80 team sucked, the 81 team wasn't much better, Kevin McHale wasn't even a starter at the time, didn't start in the NBA for his first 4 years, you would never of heard of Parish and Maxwell had it not been for Bird. If you put Bird with Oakley, Paxson, Woolridge I bet you would get a much better record than 30-52. That is what Bird did, he lifted the whole team, Jordan stands out as an individual.
BroomeBlocker4 5 months ago
@BroomeBlocker4 dude mj led his team in assists in his rookie year and DUH jordan missed 64 games - Put Jordan there all season and they go at least 45-37 - but I love the way you think - but just ask Bird himself, who was 6'9" to mj's 6'5" - truly they are the two greatest ever but MJ had longevity on Bird - remember when Mj scored 51 at age38? Or 43 at 40? Bird would be in a wheelchair by the end of the season if he had played at 38
northvalleynews 5 months ago
@BroomeBlocker4 also I woulda never heard of Parish - a true 7 footer in the NBA - yeah I would have but the general population might not. Maxwell......youre probably right on that one - good stuff bro
northvalleynews 5 months ago
@BroomeBlocker4 ...you would have never heard of parish or maxwell if not for bird?...lmaoooo...maxwell was finals mvp over bird in the 81 finals..outscored bird in game 7 of the 84 finals,too....parish lasted 21 yrs,he came in the nba yrs before bird, and he retired yrs after bird...nobody has played more season
parish= 18.6 ppg 12.5 rpg in 88-89...when bird played in 6 games outta 82...
parish= 17.0 ppg 9.5 rpg on .544% in 1993 playoffs vs alonzo mourning...at 39 yrs old and with bird retired
shaqpopcorn34 4 months ago
@BroomeBlocker4 Nate Tiny Archibald, the UTEP legend, is still the only player to lead the NBA in assists and scoring in the same season - in 1981 he averaged .499 shooting from the field, .816 from the line, 13.8 pts and 7.7 assists. Bird put in 21.2 ppg that year on 47.8% from the field and only 27% from three. Parish put in 18.9 ppg, and Maxwell put in 15.2 ppg. McHale scored only 10.0 ppg but he did add an awesome 1.8 blocks per game!
northvalleynews 5 months ago
@BroomeBlocker4 Bird is amazing and one of my faves of all time but when it came to stopping MJ anyone with eyes could always see Bird was HELPLESS - No one could stop Jordan - Bird is a better person and more humble and a great team player but Jordan was, in Bird's own words, "God disguised as Michael Jordan"
northvalleynews 5 months ago
@chitownref, duncun is the best PF, i think and u forgot, Gary Payton, Mutumbo,
zertul5000 6 months ago
@zertul5000 Duncan is good but give me Malone any day of the week. I didnt forget about Payton and Mutumbo they just arent worth mentioning. Mutumbo was a bumbling 7 footer, just off the top of my head without thinking hard I can name 10 centers I would take over him. With his skill set the only reason he lasted was becuz of his height. Payton was a nice player, a better mention than Mutumbo, but Gary doesn't rank anywhere near the great guards.Remeber the NBA was around b4 the 90's & 2000's.
chitownref 6 months ago
@chitownref look at the block numbers? mutumbo is a great blocker, yes but peytons defense was extraodinary, too the point jordan really didn't like him, peyton, bird and jordan trash talked the most thats y they were such good guards on D, dun u think?
zertul5000 5 months ago
@zertul5000 Mutumbo's block numbers? Who cares,he was 7 feet tall, his blocks are the only reason he lasted because the rest of his game sucked. Payton was a good player but he is not in the same league as MJ,Kobe,Oscar Robertson,Jerry West,Isiah Thomas,Magic,Bob Cousy,Earl the Pearl,John Stockton.I could go on but I think you get the point. Please tell me how trash talking makes you a good defender? Ron Harper with the Bulls talked major trash & he couldnt guard shit at that point in his career
chitownref 5 months ago
@chitownref mutombo led the league in reboundign a few times and he scored 18 ppg as a rookie - No One was in the same league as MJ -
northvalleynews 5 months ago
@chitownref u dumb ass, give me a player then can put jordan under 30 points, his name is GP, u can tell jordan, and he'll agree, dumbass
zertul5000 5 months ago
@zertul5000 Under 30 and you think that is great? HAHA. Jordan avg 27.3 PPG in the Finals for a team that went 72-10, MJ didn't have to score huge but I don't remember (And I was an adult watching the 95/96 Finals) Payton being the main player guarding Jordan? I do believe that was Hersey Hawkins with Payton picking him up here and there dumbass and like I said letting someone AVERAGE over 27 ppg isn't great defense by any stretch of the imagination.
chitownref 4 months ago
Respond to this video... and btw mutumbo, leading in blocks, doesn't that say anything, he can block, 3 blocks per game, is just amazing,
zertul5000 5 months ago
@zertul5000 2.8 blocks is amazing and makes him great huh? Mark Eaton averaged 3.5 blocks per game and nobody is calling him great. Hell you probably have never heard of him. Mutombo has only 214 more total blocks than Eaton and Dikembe played 7 more seasons than Eaton. Great is Hakeem who played the same number of years as Mutombo and had 600 more blocks for a 3.1 average plus he had 15,000 more points, 1400 more rebounds & 1700 more steals. Sorry but Mutombo doesnt compare to the great centers
chitownref 4 months ago
@chitownref When did he embarrass Bird, if I remember rightly Bird swept Jordan
BroomeBlocker4 5 months ago
@BroomeBlocker4 he embarrassed Bird all the time but the Celtics beat the Bulls - Jordan was young and surrounded by crap players so he wasn't embarrassed.
northvalleynews 5 months ago
@BroomeBlocker4 Bird himself could never sweep Jordan - believe me in the old days they had Ainge guard Jordan for a bit, then they put Dennis Johnson on him, then they switched to Reggie Lewis and then the went to Brian Shaw and then Bird gave it a shot and then they even busted out the big guns by putting McHale on him and then Parish and then Walton - it was ALWAYS the same - 49 points, 63 points and plays like this - yound Scottie still sucked and so did Horace -

@chitownref who sucks lebrons dick? its kobe that ppl dick ride the most, the guy is one of the most overated player ever
NatisCole 4 months ago
@NatisCole No Lebrick is the most overrated player ever. Kobe is a helluva a player, not up to MJ by any means, but the best 2 guard of his generation and prolly the best player of his era.
chitownref 4 months ago
@chitownref no kobe is more over rated u hear this guy get compared to mj all the time from the media when hes not even close they only say that because of the amount of rings he has
NatisCole 4 months ago
@NatisCole Not sure how Kobe can be the most overrated with everyone saying how Lebron will retire as the GOAT ahead of MJ when he hasn't won shit yet? Yes Kobe had Shaq but MJ didn't win until he got some help too and I'll take Kobe with his game and 5 rings over Lebrick and his disappearing act anyday of the week!
