Wow, way to show off the 7th Doctor! :D Brilliant.
I'd love to see you do another tribute some time. ^^ Maybe the Sixth? He doesn't have enough in the way of "serious" tributes ( ones that don't make him into a joke) b/c Colin Baker really did do great performances as his Doctor. (especially his big finish audio dramas)
This seems to be the doctor in which i pay less attention to, but recently i have watched quite a few of his episodes, and my favourite episode of his was 'Rememberance of the Daleks' its shown quite a bit in this video.
@CosmicHobo A very atmospheric tribute. Sylvester McCoy was a very good Doctor, much better than many people give him credit for. Underrated he certainly was.
That really was brilliant. One of the best edited Doctor Who tributes I've ever seen. And not that I didn't love it, but I don't think any Sylvester McCoy tribute is quite complete without the whole lot, as they all give different elements to his tenure as a whole. But then again, the 5 episodes and movie you include here are some of the best, so well done. A bit of 'Paradise Towers' or 'The Curse of Fenric' never hurt though hahaha. Seriously, brilliant, well done. :)
Tom Baker is my favorite one. But you know how it goes... you never forget your first Doctor. I've been with the Doctor Who series since I was finishing up 7th grade. I did meet Sylvester McCoy in 1987 and that was a joy to see him... he was very good guy. So I got to see him in Green Bay, Wisconsin. I do prefer him in the later half of the era when the stories were growing darker, more scary. Some of story arc brought a depth of mystery to his chess board playing Doctor.
Cripes, post spam. Sorry about that, the post button wasn't working for me...so I hit it a few more times to get it to function. Seems it picked up every time.
This video's brilliant, best Seventh Doctor tribute that I've ever seen.
i love te way that it goes through the docs best stories then he dies at the end to show the end of a tribute journey very well done , sylvester was my first and favorite doctor
Brillant, the only two doctors I like more then McCoy are Tom Baker and Tennet, and that's because Baker was my first Doctor (you always love your first doctor) and Tennet... he is just beautiful, there is no way around it.
We're spoilt on CGI. What happened to the good old days when we could see those horribly costumed bug people alongside the first doctor and be terrified of them?
@Venn64 Personally, I get shot down a lot because I really don't like what Doctor Who became, during and after the movie. ^^ Colin Baker is always gonna be my Doctor, even though I'm 23 and Jon pertwee was on repeats when I was a kid. (The Green Death was amazing). ^^
Great! I especially like the quite dramatic ending, with his death in the Movie, and then the little fragment from Remembrance of the Daleks. Thank you!
1:56 was Survival and 2:22 was Battlefield, and the Master was in Survival, but the guy in 1:58 was one of the Masters pawns called Mitch, whom he was controlling.
I second that BanjoOz. I can wait for the eventual release of the said DVDs, plus I'm looking forward to Time and The Rani also. Delta and the Bannerman has been confirmed to be released later this year [2009]. Yahoo! A first for Season 24.
Does anyone know which story has the death in which has unfiltered sunlight which melts a man's face? I know it's McCoy's era because the Doctor Who Ultimate Monsters cards say so!
Fantastic tribute video! Great editing and choice of clips. Sylv is one of my favourite Doctors, and probably the closest to my "ideal" conception of the role on adult, non-biased reflection. He got some awesome scripts too, especially late in his run (IMO, the best the show had had since the 70's). So tragic that it ended when it did for him. Here's hoping we get Greatest Show, Happiness Patrol and Paradise Towers on DVD soon! :D
SYLVESTER MCcoy his DOCTOR WHO CHARACTER IN BEGINNING WAS A CLOWN TYPE,(About 2-3 of shows,THEN he just played the character STRAIGHT THRU WITH SOME COMEDY/"MISDIRECTION-See the COSMIC CARNIVAL/?CIRCUS? EPISODE,Having ANDROID CLOWNS=)And GIRL WEREWOLF-WhooHooo!!)This was 1 of the best of SYLVESTOR MCcoys EPISODES-Other than PARADISE TOWERS...COSMIC CARNIVAL reminds people why they HAVE FEAR OF CLOWNS-Could be ANYTHING WEARING CLOWNSUIT(ROBOTS ANDROIDS CAN GET PRETTY SCARY>;)p)-just watch this
Bloody brilliant 7 is my favourite Doctor, so wish the BBC hadn't axed it. Also why hasn't the Curse of Fenric been put out on DVD it looks (forgive the pun) Ace.
I just met this guy today, he was in Birmingham town center shopping at argost. he was wearing the same hat, and slightly same style as the 7th doctor. I said hello and instantly recognized him from his voice. really nice man
Wicked video! Great job with the music and all. I just have a real hard time watching the scene in the movie when they kill off the 7th Doctor. The way they did it really s**cked! It makes me a bit queasy but of course I'm a bit biased perhaps as I really love McCoy's Doctor!
This is possibly my favourite Seventh Doctor fanvid ever. I've lost count of the number of times I've rewatched it. It's well-timed and I like the song choice. Seven is my favourite Doctor, and this is a great tribute to him.
ooops. I meant Seventh... You're right she wasn't around when he regenerated. It's too bad we never really learn what happened to her officially. I'd be cool for her to guest on the new series.
He survived the bullets but they took him to the hospital and they couldn't understand/didn't beleive he wasn't human....so the surgery.....didn't go too well.
It's such a shame that McCoy wasn't able to do a fourth season. I loved the darker direction the show was taking. In a lot of ways, the new "Doctor Who" picked up where his Doctor left off.
My God, your timing is excellent. You managed to get the clips to match with the music's tempo perfectly. I have to say that several of the moments in Doctor Who are quite goofy but the music and the cutting make it seem quite dark and dramatic. Blending the bits before his regeneration in the movie with the series actually worked well. And I loved your little intro with the silhouettes.
Just saw this. Very cool! Nice how you bookended the video with scenes from the TV movie so that it's like the Doctor's (seventh) life is flashing before his eyes while he's dying in the hospital.
That was rather good. Never a fan of the McCoy era, it wasn't his fault though. but the vid was cool, nice to see some of the other doctors getting bigged up.
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed that. Well done. When you are rendering or compressing your vids make sure you "deinterlace" them. That will get rid of all those lines. Superb 5/5
