Cojie of Mighty Crown Sound System (Japan) brought me here !! He posted Jasmine Kara's version for her upcoming album. I also luv Nujabes so gotta check that 1 out too !!
Nujabes brought me here, and man this guy is a great singer, I love this version and I have barely heard it all =3 thank you Nujabes you open my mind to more beautiful music ;w;
Nujabes brought me here. I can't believe that I've missed out on Terry Callier for all these 18 years. This man is a genius and I find it sad that modern music is nothing compared to music of back in the days. There is no more modern soul artists like this.
@TheTvrulesthenation It still isn't as widely known as it was back in the days. Yes, it will always exist but you can't deny the fact that radios still play everywhere. Walk around in a mall, you won't be hearing this beautiful stuff, you'll be hearing stupid electronic sounds that grind your ears.
same here, got curious because I listened to nujabes' version (I prefer it actually, although I love the original too). Same way I discovered Shing02. I really believe Nujabes had that extremely rare genius to understand what moves the souls, so he could find it in music genres as different as shing02 and terry callier, and show it to the masses. Thank you Nujabes.
Great song, haven't heard it in years. Thank you livisoul for keeping it here. I wonder if you could help me. I've been searching for a song by Grady Tate. I've heard that it is on an album called By Special Request. The song is Follow the Path. Hopefully you or some body who appreciates music from the not too long ago might know of it. Thank You. A Terry Callier fan from the midwest.
Love this, still remember dancing with my girlfriend in my living room to this after Argentina knocked out England of the World Cup on penalties - a sad moment! What versions are there? I've got one on a Terry Callier compilation. But I first heard it at the 100 Club about 14 years ago and remember the DJ saying that he was playing a 'version' of it, can't remember his exact words. Had a quick look round You Tube and the ones I found sound the same,
Met Terry many years ago in Detroit. We used to play him frequently on WJZZ. He's a great guy and a wonderful performer who never experienced the success he merited. Believe it or not, he used to hang out with David Crosby in the 60's. Writing about Terry in one of his books, Crosby actually said he had no idea whatever happened to him! Of course, David was probably too stoned to remember.
A true classic that will never get old. April is when I would catch TERRY in the Detroit area at OCC. Great that HE chats with his fans after the show. I've only asked for two autographs in my life: one a baseball player as a kid that is long- lost, the other was Terry's that is framed.
nujabes' version...so much better...the amazing music he puts to callier's voice just..i cant even describe it...nujabes..he is the most amazing producer
@bringback2day not sure of year but bought what colour is love album,maybe 96 or 97.second hand and just loved cover and thought give it a go ..and love it ..hes a lovely man and he signed a cd for me a few years ago .. i shook his hand and he said who shall i sign it for... i said its for callier, he looked at me and i didnt need to explain and looked down and signed " for callier love callier"..
