  • FYI for those asking about the type of welder. I spoke to Mr. Ganson and he said this:

    "

The spot welder that I have used primarily is pretty small and has been used for tacking- to be followed by silver soldering. Welders of the same ilk are like this below. I made my handset, but they can be purchased. They are a bit pricey! Company: Sun Stone Spot Welders

  • Is this an oxy acetylene or oxy propane torch? Thanks.

  • Make a machine to make those for you.

  • are those homemade tools? pretty cool dude.

  • One of the greatest DIY videos. The best DIY gear I've seen so far.Really thanks.Come to my site to see staff like this.

  • cool i love gears nice work

  • Mr. Ganson,

Saw your show at Kohler, WI some years ago, and have been a fan ever since. I make kindergardener stuff compared to your post-grad level, but it keeps me happy. May I ask what kind of spot welder you use? I have a few dental orthodontic welders, but they don't have the kind of power yours appears to have. Thanks.

  • Awesome =)

  • Can anyone tell us what kind of spot welder he is using?

  • Why do you both solder AND spot-weld?

  • @SASunDog More the merrier =)

  • @AgentCROCODILE Ah, thanks! That makes sense.

I went to the Harbor Freight tool outlet near me, to see if they had a spot welder like Mr. Ganson's, but all they had was a huge monkeyass industrial-sized spot welder. I guess a welder like his is a special order from a faraway land.

  • What kind of tact welder are you using before you Oxy-Act weld?

  • What kind of spot welder have you there?

  • Teu trabalho é admirável.

  • borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring

  • @adlerbr12 :P

  • That must take a while :P

Amazing job though, on all your machines.

I sit hours watchign and re-watching your art.

Thank you for sharing it in such an elegant style!

  • I THINK the spacing between the two pins determines diameter and/or number of teeth somehow, but I'm not certain.

  • Hi, do you have any info on your spot welder?

  • Nice...I want to buy one!

  • amazing work.

Some machines are creapy, but the engineering behind each work is just mind blowing. Now this is the art I understand and support 100%.

    amazing

  • I'm just in awe.

  • what an elegant machine

i don't see how you determine the diametral pitch of the gear, or how measure where you are supposed to bend the wire. maybe you could explain how this works briefly? thanks!

  • interesting, i had wondered how you made your gears
