  • Kingdom of HEAVEN FTW!!!

  • shame the men dont move as slow as they would have done in real life, thick mud and heavy armour winning combo(and arrows of course)

  • It is said the French lost a whole generation of young nobles this day. An exagerration, but not far from the truth

  • this is narnia, but wich track?

  • Amazing job on that video!!!

  • Kingdom of Heaven ties into any Medieval Total War battle to become incredible.

  • bullshit, at 4:34 Henry dies. That didnt happen and it means you lost the battle. History Fail.

  • did agincourt not have lots of horsmen any way wat ever it was the french still haven't got over it or trafalger lol

  • As far as I know the french just stood there waiting before henrys English troops who were tired diseased and ill fed.

It had been raining all night and was a muddy field which boots of thousands of men had trampled upon

Henry decided to act first and had his archers pull up the stakes theyd planted and advance a bit and replant them while the french did nothing.

This bought the longbow within range and the french got totally slaughtered floundering through the mud.

  • @zenoist2

i don't think so. In fact the french knights of that time were too impetuous, so sme of them wanted a glrios battle, not just waiting for the English to starve and surrender; so some of the french kights carged, dragging the whole army with thm.

  • @Kamfrenchie The french had no clear leader it seems and were split into several factions so nothing was co ordinated.

There were a lot of rival factions there on the actual day. A good way to lose a battle before you even start

  • My favourite battle of all time

The French who totally outnumbered the British got slaughtered!

They had major problems with the mud and were very slow even when they got to the british line, all the time getting shot by archers.

The british archers wearing no armor but equipped with a hammer they used to pound in the stakes found them easy prey once combat was joined and there was literally a wall of dead frenchmen before them.

    Excellent! lol

  • @zenoist2 english* =)

  • such a good vid but graphics ruin it a bit

  • When I first played this battle I nearly pissed myself when the French Knights came out from the forest. It really was the last thing I was expecting, being stupid enough not to check the map at all. Next though, I was ready. I like this historical battle, pretty good overall if you play with good strategy.

  • This is a great montage. It makes me want to buy the game now. I agree with what most people are saying regarding agincourt: Don't attack longbowmen from long range on foot.

  • why do so many French knights appear to be on foot? wasn't like that at all besides it seems totally silly to run such a distance in full armour. Was it too much hassle to draw more horses? Ah là là là là là là

  • They are on foot, because most of them WERE on foot. They dismounted as a way to keep ut the attack against the longbow.

  • na; am really not sure about that at all. they may have dismounted after a while, but not the first charge as far as i know, and what i read was that as it had rained all night, the horses were cnsiderably slowed down as the ground was incredibly muddy. Where do you get that info from? They were on foot at Poitiers in 1356. I may be wrong, but i never heard about them doing such a great distance on foot. I'll check that, and if i'm wrong i'll be back and say i'm sorry

  • ok i talked rubbish, sorry, approx. 8000 were indeed on foot. Mea culpa :-S

but i really doubt that they were running like they do in this video, in full armour it seems a bit silly, still

  • The dismounting was a common french tactic during the hundred-years war(s) It was used in a lot of minor battles and skirmishes after Crecy in 1346. You are right that the running is ridiculous. The battle started with an English advance. They walked slowly to preserve energy and unit cohesion. They stopped at extreme bow range, and planted stakes. Then enticed the french to attack by shooting arrows. The distance walked was about 250-300 yards.

  • thx ;-)

  • dont make sense

youd want to get closer to longbow

  • What doesn't make sense? The range? They started harrassing the French with arrows to make them come closer, where they could make a killing arrow-storm.

  • The lesson here: Do not let massed ranged troops gain both the advantage of terrain and preperation time.

  • @HangedMan30

Or Frenchmen love to get long shafted.

  • agincourt, the best battle of medieval 2 total war!

  • Pretty poor quality but at least you know whats going on :D

  • Poor silly French!

  • Their commander wasn't silly. i think you should respect him, he was a genious, and had a genial plan for defeating the english, it's only that the english spoiled that plan by placing themselves so that a frontal charge was the only option. Then the aristocratic noble frenchmen got provoked by the english and charged.

  • i wish this game took the terraign correctly couse that would make it more historical and the always losing french will get slowed down.

  • In reality, almost all of the English longbowmen were ravaged with dysentry. They cut patches out of their breeches so they could "shit on the spot" during the battle. Its kinda funny imagining looking from the rear of the english battle line and seeing thousand of asses line up together. :)

  • and they still beat all 36,000 of the french :p

  • Comment removed

  • i won this battle from the first time i played it , i just kept some bilmen to protect my archers from the back and i won easily , i also focused on attacking the powerful french units and kept my units together , quite easy

  • where can i download the cinematic editor for this game?

  • The first time I played this I was doing ok until the cavalry attacked the rear. The second time I was prepared for the cavalry with some of my archer units cutting them down, but this allowed the 2nd wave of french infantry to break through the front line, to my mostly helpless archers and I'd prefer Henry's unit enter as a last resort.

What made the difference was advancing my front line to prevent the waves of French from penetrating so close. Remaining: English- 500, French- 200

  • I counter the cavalry charge with Billmen and Dismounted Knights and leave my Longbows to fire at the infantry and hold up infantry by the front row and some second row infantry(billmen and knights)

I usually send Henry to aid against the outflanking cavalry and then send Henry, the dismounts and the bills to mop up what remains of the front line infantry(remember 3 on 1 is better than 1 on 1 in morale)

Keep your units tied together and you shall prevail(ex : English 400 - French 10)

  • good music for this type of battle excellent video

  • this is the easiest map from my poinion :D nice video

  • HEY HENRY DIED!!THE TROOPS WILL ROUTE IF HE DOES.I WON THIS MAP ONCE BUT COULDNT WIN FOR THE 2nd TIMe

  • why???? its very easy to win

  • lol, i can kick their asses even i got about 130s men remaining

well @ the first time i fight the battle and its too difficult to destroy the front line and i have no idea theres an ambush from behind.. xD

  • i had the best game ever last night.twas 3 hours long :D i was spain with france gainst eng.brilliant

  • There must be some disadvantage to fire arrows... idk what, but the demo doesn't tell me.

  • they take longer 2 fire and r less accurate. however, they do more damage to morale

  • i know how to change files so you can play as the non-playable factions in historical battles on medieval 2 total war and rome total war.

  • a very cool vid but how did u let henry die? i never lost him nor this battle.

  • fuckin awsome vid dude i was thinking of getting these games like rome total war and empire total war looks fuckin awsome but no wi like teh look of this 1

  • only the french cavalry behind you is irritating :l

  • the battle of agincourt was sooooo easy i finished it in 1time to easy -.-

  • that's impossible because it takes more than a minute for the french to start close combat.

  • ????

  • one minute? lol he said he won the fight the first time he tried it, not the first minute haha

  • great vid! i thought they said in history books that the english were on top of a steep muddy hill firing arrows down at heavy mounted french nights slowly ploughing up towards them....? (british longbows had huge range on enemy cavalry and mowed them down b4 they even got near them)-looks a bit flat here.

  • for scotland lades!!get thows cowerds!

  • a very cool vid and one of the best missions i ever played :)

  • hye guys, when you build a guild in a city in campaign, can you only build one guild in each ity or can you build cultiple guilds?

  • make graphics low remove unit shadows and/or make units smaller

  • wow u posted the same question on another video

  • so? thats how i get my questions answered buddy

  • hey guys i had a question

medieval 2 runs farely smooth on the campaign map but the loading takes forever and it lags in battle anyway to fix that besides deleting stuff from your computer?

  • Get more RAM and a better videocard.

  • how do you get family member on foot?

  • make more plz

  • however i tried, i could never win this, im shit

  • funny smell round here...oh MshrF, hi there!

  • yea it was hard but just keep trying

Tip: youre archer are the key, USE THEM WISELY!!!!

  • Impressive. =D

  • how the heck did u make it so that your guys did not rout when the king dies!?

  • ALL YA NEED IS A MONTAGE

  • If you where assaulting in knee deep mud and getting hammerd by arrows, seeing the ELITE of your society falling all around you to some low life peasants dying of starvation... you would shout ATTACK!!! allot simply to keep your fellow men from runnin ;)

    Longbows are nasty things ^^,

  • the movie would have been PERFECT only if they didn't say ATTACK every couple of seconds, but i guess that would be really hard to get rid of

  • armoured swordsmen in defense mode are near enough impenetrable...

  • would have been a better movie without the banners...still good tough

  • weather conditions like snow and rain, do they affect the soldiers in any way?

  • bows and gunpowder cant be used

  • ok, but I meant if the heavy cavalry (for instance) will sink into the mud? like falling of their horses?

  • it slows them down

  • Yes, the mud was a factor that was detrimental to the advancing French army. This was implemented into the game also. The cavalry charge is slower—notice how the infantry line doesn't break.

  • your right people should always take consideration when they play a total war it is a real as it gets

  • yeah they do, the best way to check ut the best features of the game is to watch the 6 chapters all about 3 min each and the 1st min is always the same

  • I'll do that, thanks.

  • the AI in this game sometimes frustrates me. Like when you're trying to tell units to move somewhere, and they might stop, retrace their steps for a few seconds THEN charge to where you directed them. Extremely annoying when you're trying to chase down a routing enemy family member/king. And it is a whole lot worse when you're trying to direct units inside an enemy castle. The AI defies logic in where it sends your units sometimes.

  • i hate know it alls on utube...get a life u cunts i wanna see u wear steel armor and let me shoot u with a biw and see wut happens

  • why did henry the 5th die? he did not die at Agincourt

  • aww i cant wait for this game got it coming in the post

  • anybody knows how to put more units in one slot? i have seen 300 units in one unit card? any help...

  • yeah, go to options and change unit scale to whatever size your computer can handle

  • cool vid. cool sound and...great battle!

  • Great video and good music. Do you uploaded the video in larger resolution? Thanks.

  • No but i think that i have it in larger resolution, if i find it i upload it, and i'll send the link if you like.

  • Harry G-W does some of the best music.

  • the king only buyed archers because he was very poor at the time and simply buyed archer because they was half the price of the knights but by doing that it seems it turned out ok

  • The french also slaughtered their own genoese crossbowmen. Read Bernard Cromwell's Harlequin, great book.

  • ive not read harlequin but im a great cornwell fan, i've read most of the sharpes

  • No matter how you put it, englands victory was down to tactical superiority and the skill of our Longbowmen

  • omg i no wat u mean but wasnt it the...moors or sumthing...but yea i at least beat this mission once that one i didnt even last a few minutes :p

  • This level is too difficult for me. I swear that 90% of the time my archers just sit on their hands. I trigger off Fire at will because they don't follow my orders. They fire the first volley fine and kill the two units of calvary, but after that they just eat popcorn and watch my infantry die.

  • strange, if they are in 'fire at will' then they should shoot their arrows at the closest enemy. By the way this mission is not so difficult you should try that one where you are ambushed by egyptians, dont know the name

  • LOL i love how u described them eating popcorn and watch them die lol nice one dood

  • nice use of Cine editor

  • great video, well synchronized, good music choice, quality somewhat lacks, 5 stars anyways

  • nice vid

  • yes very nice

  • i dnt know what ure talking bout this is a hard level on any difficulty i only beat it once on hard and once on very hard

  • Yeah thats why I always download a mod after my first campaign in vanilla, something that makes the AI smarter and harder to beat. Check out Deus Lo Vault 5.1 mod or many other quality mods.

  • Haha Koy "an retard" you fuckn retard!

  • i can play it and lose only 462 men! (now)

  • cool coooool cool

  • lol I can top that, I only had Henry left.

  • I won this battle and I only had Henry and 3 of his bodyguard

  • Lol. Kingdom of Heaven music. Should play Non Nobis de Teum.

  • you got henry killed.......awesome

anyways this was a fun battle and henry lived when i first played this but i didnt expect to be a flanking french army but i was prepared when they arrived,i think i lost 3 whole units

  • absolutely amazing

  • This battle is easy compared to the Spain battle vs mayans.... i won the spain battle with about 300 man remaining and the mayans had like less than 150 men back in each of their armies... that was tough but this is sorta easy... tho i almost got wiped out when they came from behind..

  • yeah when i first played this battle i lost because of the army from the rear. i played it again and basicly put my troops in a position in which they could take a hit from anywere and I won

  • i won this battle with 500 men left

  • when you think about it, there are lots of knights dieing on the battlefields. Think about all of that knight training gone to waste...

  • Awesome...keep at it

  • The French lost because they did not believe the English army could withstand them. Large amounts of well armoured knights had assembled to wipe out the English invaders, and they took no heed of tactics.

The English used the muddy conditions and terrain to their advantage, pouring arrows into the approaching enemy as they struggled through the mud and trampled each other in their confusion and eagerness for battle, and retreating behind stakes when attacked by cavalry.

  • it was a bunch of nobles that where full of themselves and a muddy field the horse got drastically slowed as well as the infantry, where the english had enough time to peck most of them off with there longbows and by the time the rements of the french army got there they where tired and well there was already a lot of casualities

  • Most of the English were desperate to return to England. Therefore, their minds would be set to a more determined state. The French, out numbering the ENglish and at home had the advantage. They would be so full of themselves, the word defeat wouldnt of even crossed their minds. They were simply too arrogant to have a tacical and organized command system

  • you are right in this analysis

  • We must also under stand psychological condition of both armies. The ENglish would of been hungry and sickly, but they would have been inspired by Henry. The French on the other hand, were bickering, arrogant and ignorant. They were un aware of English spirit.

  • to understand the Battle of Agincourt, you musn't look at how the ENglish won, but how on earth the French lost. But we must also remember that the English had two advantages; Henry of England- a great leader of men and high proportion of Archers. The French lost because of arrogance and rivalry between various nobles fighting for glory. Charles D'Albret's (who was spposed to be in charge) was deprived of his comtrol.

  • What kind of graphics card do you have here?

  • It was actually proven in an experiment that the English arrows didnt harm the French. It was crowd chaos, confusion and the mud that made the French loose. The only soldiers who were able to fight properly were the Archers. The rest were vulnerable. They said in the experiment that an armoured knight, taking his foot out of the mud of Agincourt would be like us lifting our feet with fifteen bags of sugar strapped onto them. It was luck that gave us victory, not the ENglish longbow.

  • that is not lock their armor that protected them from arrows killed them in mud and then i heard that longbow arrows were able to penetrate armor. then the impact caused by arrows can cause men to fall and step over each other so it is not luck

  • Maybe it was a combination of both. In rain, archers are practically useless, but the longbowmen had bodkin tipped arrowheads that were armor piercing. While the French had to come to the English, they were shot down. Plus, Henry V inspired his troops before the battle. It was desperation in part because if the English lost, it was no going home. They had their backs up against the wall in this historic battle.

  • yes you are right

  • no buddy, hes not right, heer69 has fucking facts

  • Longbows can't penetrate steel armour, which was what the french were wearing. The longbows virtually useless in the battle of Agincourt. Unless they penetrated near the neck or visor. What killed the french was the massive number of soldiers in heavy steel armour they had marching through the mud. The English had the compacted french funneling towards them. The English longbowmen were able to maneuver easily with no armour in the mud, and take down the heavily armoured french with ease.

  • Longbows can penetrate, but not as good as crossbows. with the speed and accuration it is possible.

  • he can penetrate with the right tip and speed

  • Actually, longbows are excellent at penetrating armor.

  • history lessons!? lol i remember! the soundtrack is from kingdom of heaven.

  • freaking bloody battle, need the codine, morphine ughhh

  • This is the only time period where the French could win battles and they barely won any then -.-

  • you seem to be forgetting napolean

  • oh..good point forgot about him nvm

  • the french didnt have much chance of charging did they? there were so many people per square meter that they couldnt move or use their weapons effectivly.

  • In azincourt? Nah the only reason they lost was because they could run through the hick, wet mud, and they were mowed down by the longbowmen.

This is an awesome vid btw incredible...what programs did you use?

  • Oh forgiv me u were partly right. They were funneled into a small areaflanked by trees, but th main reason was because they were forced forward and shot to death or suffocated in the mud

  • the french have pretty much only won one war and even then they had to hav a girl win it for them

  • wow im gonna put that on my myspace!!!

    awsome vid 5/5!!

  • Amazing video man 5\5 stars

  • how are ya still alive when henry died? =P

  • LoL. Yea what has happened there? I guess this is the "What If" scenario.

  • great job!! i like how the battle depicted is almost life-like in raw gritty bloodiness. just one question..where are the French crossbowmen that stood powerless against the english longbow? weren't they somewhere in this battle?

  • I love this battle: goes to show that an organised military will always prevail over an disorganised, larger mob of arrogant nobles

  • The game is still a pain when it comes to instant solution battles. You can outnumber an enemy by over 2,000 and still lose against a force of only 200.

  • This battle is like, impossible the odds are stacked against you like crazy

  • Easy if you don't commit all your troops to the first front.

  • Hey you stole my name!!!

  • Don't look at me, I was here first :D

  • lol

  • What is youre computer equipment?

On mine the soldier don't do the finishing muves. What can I do??

  • NICE!! props for that video. is that battle impossible or somthing cuz i cant find a way to beat it and i havent seen eny 1 do it.

  • isnt this the battle that Shakespear wrote about in henry V we are the band of brother or sumthin like thatr lol

  • o yeah he did music for "Kingdom of Heaven" too

  • o yes he also composed music for "Enemy of the State"

(by the way a lot of his songs are similar to each other, for example, this song sounds a lot like "The Battle", a song from the Narnia movie. I personally think that the Metal Gear Solid theme is his masterpiece.

  • Harry Gregson-Williams is such an awesome composer. He composed music for movies like "Armageddon", "The Chronicles of Narnia-The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe", "The Rock", and the theme song for the Metal Gear Solid video games

  • nice movie!!its crative!!

Tha battle of Agincourt is easy guys!

I win it all the time that i play it!

  • Nice. Kingdom of Heven music; very professional! Love it. I can hardly seem to win the battle of agincourt. Your infantry just cant hold against wave after wave.

  • i hate that battle ! henry v always fucks up, he has no hp and runs away from his unit all the time !!(._.)

  • That was great! How do you get the Black, and the camera angles? That was just incredable! Nd Kingdom ofHeaven soundtrack, no?

  • HURRA TO THE LONGBOWS! Best War weapon at the time for 500 years!

  • LOL! The battle of Agincourt was in 1415.

You won´t tell me, that longbows were the best weapon until 1915, won´t you?

I would like to see a battle between longbowmen and the Prussian army of 1914^^

  • more like from 1200-1700

  • ... lol piasecznik the english longbow was made like in the 1100's... do the math

  • dont get too exited although it may have had the longest range and so the strongest damage but you must read about the other armies than eurpean armies they might have better bows

  • i think a longbow would come in handy in trench warfare a rifle fires straight wereas a longbow could lob arrows into enemy trenches lol

  • if they have long bows their enemies will go out of trenshes to slaughter them as they only have bows that isnt effective in direct combat

  • but the emplace machine guns would mow the troops down u could also use a combination of rifles and archers although in the trenches the archers would probably end up using there bows and arrows as firewood as it was scarce in the trenches

  • so you mean if they use bows with rifles that is buetiful, but they will still have a disadvantage as rifles have a greater range than any bow so they will be shooting while the archers are not and so not the whole army will be fighting

  • yer that is true but in the 1st world was some of the trenches were less than 60 feet appart its an idea that will never be tested as it is imposible to recreate the conditions. another wonder of war lol
