@TheEndzoneX When Alessa's doppleganger, Dark Alessa provides reason for Alessa's ostrazation and persecution, that being, 'she did not have a father like they did.' In this explanation Dark Alessa was referring to Alessa's father being a "deadbeat dad", unlike the other children in the town who had so-called "normal" family structures.
@xX8Predator8Xx Pretty much. The fact that she's an illegitamate child does not justify the insidious actions enacted onto Alessa. These actions ranging from verbal taunting and ostracization to molestation/rape, torture and attempted homicide. Paraphrasing Jigsaw in the address to Christabella and her followers, "Hello, Alessa and I want to play a game!"
if you think about it, Silent Hill becomin g a crazy hell hole was Dahlia Gilllespie in the games fault but in the movie it's the leader of the cult (can't remember her name at this moment in time.) In Silent Hill 4 Walter Sullivanmind was twisted by the cult and Dahlia so he wasn't truly to blame either, plus other people.
@TheEndzoneX Do you recall when Christabella confronted Dalia in the school restroom after Alessa had been assaulted? In that scene Christabella had inquired as to whom Alessa's father was; Alessa was not born via parthenogenesis as she did have a father. However, her conception was illegitimate and went agians't dogmatic rule of the cults laws.
I felt so bad for this little girl when I saw this movie. Those fuckers deserve what they got, I felt like giving that little girl a hug and punching those religious fucks out.
@XxHeartagramHeavenxX The dark part of Alessa came from Alessa. Dark Alessa is the figurative culmination of Alessa's pain, fear, sadness, anger, isolation, and animosity all allegorically transposed into an independent being. She also is Alessa's 'id' of which has become externalized.
@xPinkalicious1995x Other than emotional problems & trust issues that derive from years of being ostracised, teased, physically abused: nothing. Alessa was a shy, quiet soul of melancholic temperment. Dogmatic perspectives, are the bases of Alessa's social plight. According to S.H religious views: if a child is born illegitamately (ex: wedlock) he/she is considered a 'sin'. Alessa was an illegitamate child and was wrongfully persecuted due to something she had no control over: her conception.
This makes me wanna cry... I'm actually a strong person, but seeing that makes me angry and sad... She was so sweet and innocent... She didn't deserve that! Its just wrong... Fuck those cultists judging her, calling her a "Witch"... Its people like that, thay makes this world so fucking horrible! I smiled when Alessa got her sweet revenge at the end of the movie
@JUANiTO234509 Notice the position of Colin's hands @ 0:37. Though the mop handle cannot be seen, the position of his hands suggests that the mop handle is present. @tdkfangirl Even if Dalia revealed the identity of Alessa's father, it still would have no effect on vindicating her daugher from further persecution. Aside from Alessa not having a so-called 'normal' family institution (single parents are not 'normal' in Silent Hill) Alessa was victimized due to her conception, which made her illigitimate and thus: the product of a sin. It's amazing how these people think 0_o, is'nt it?
@worseorbetter Her not knowing who or where the father was wasn't the case. I think when they called her a "illegitimate child" with no father meant she was born without one... Which kind of makes sense why they would think shes a witch (Not that what they did was right)
@grandy444 They did that to Alessa because she was concieved out of wedlock. According to the towns' religious dogmatism, one of the rules established was that children were to be born in legitamate fashion: to a married couple. Any child who is born not in accordance to this principle is considered a sin and therefore condemned. This practice is just as insidious and stupid as accusing rape victims of adultry then executing them by stoning.
@worseorbetter That had nothing to do with it... They hated her because they thought she was a witch because she was "illegitimately born" without a father... which makes sense >_>
me and my friend was watching the movie yesterday. she's a christian and she said "oh my god! they are not christians, they are stupid *********** ******@!!!!!" my friend has a way with words
@wiccantutor While Christianity is not mentioned directly in the film, in the original draft Christabella states when the inquiry of Christianity arises, '...we're not Christians.....we are Mathewsians!' Of which they take a majority of scripture from the 'book of Mathew' and simular agnostic figures.
i love alessa shes awsome but i feel bad for her i hate cristabella shes the one who burned alessa but a least cristabella died at the end that was the good part andthe janitor is not cool he raped alessa that was bad but he died to but in harsh way
damn ppl r crazyy, how da fuck is it herr fault dat she doesnt have a dad soo how does dat make herr a witch? n y did her mom let thm take herr daughter if iwere herr iwud grab her n move 2 another town! buhh theyy burned alessa bad dat wuz real sad man! CHRITSABELLA WILL BURN IN HELL!!!!! theyy must be real mental 2 think wat theyy did wuz right! ihate ppl who believe in shit! it wuz really really sad wen theyy found herr she wuz chared! u cud see herr vains!
That poor kid...What's scary about this is that people actually used to do this. I think it was mostly during the inquisition. Very scare stuff here...
i figured it out i was right and alessa had poweres so when sharon and dark alessa locked eyes alessa was reborn and had all her powers again thats why they were still in the fog world
i feel bad for alessa after she as burnt she couldnt talk so when rose was chasing dark alessa who was acting as alessa who rose thought as sharon dark alessa only rattled stuff cos alessa couldnt talk
when dark alessa and sharon lock eyes at the end is it true that she becomes alessa again cos sharon is the good half of alessa and then dark alessa reunited woudnt they become alessa again??
@RanaRandom Colin does sexually assault Alessa. Christabella, in talking with Dalia after the incident, take's the oppertunity in exploiting this event through ambigious dialogue. When Alessa inquires 'what does she mean?' it's quite obvious that Dalia did not posses the forsight which Alessa has. The dialogue can work 2 ways: 1) Alessa had been assaulted, prayers will be offered to restore purity/ innocence; 2) Alessa is a piece of filth that must be purified and being raped makes her more so
It's disgusting so many cultures and religions think that way, that if a woman (or a child) is raped, she is soiled goods and only brings dishonor and sin, and the only decent thing for her to do is to die.
@primohomme 'Honor killings' by definition a misleading term. The truth is their is nothing at all honorable about these killings such as the near death of Alessa in Silent Hill or the execution of Aisha Duhulow of Somolia. Through-out history, there have been those of power and affluence who have used the influence of theology to their own benefit and commit terrible crimes in the name of religion to justify divine persuit.
@SanDhampir Alessa was unfairly persecuted for being a product of a sin in the eyes of the cultist's and those influenced by them. In their eyes, conception through wedlock is viewed of as a sin. It is true that Alessa was an illigitamate child and why Dahlia refuses to divulge the name of her father is not known. But, they had no right to condenm Alessa over something that she had no control over...the means in which she was concieved.
@SanDhampir I absolutely agree. It's also a reflection to how they used religion to justify an insidious crime in the name of divine persuit. Never once did they illicit the courtisey of fairness, acceptance or even took the time to really get to know her. Instead, they decided to prejudge Alessa; a child with the aptitude of a saint. Their actions fit the definition of cruel and idiotic in my opinion.
Sad i love alessa becuz of her personality innocent love good but ppl were mean to her i agree with her decision of trapping her enemies into the evil realm of sh LOVE YOU
@Worseorbetter, exactly, like Alessa only gives respect to those who earn it in her eyes, even Dark Alessa shares these attributes when she should be mavolent to others she is benevolent towards Rose and Lisa, gentle, if you will, in Lisa's case, possibly because she and Alessa view her as a sort of big sister/mother type figure. Rose because she is so loving of Sharon and therefore Alessa and Dark Alessa themselves
''All of those people respect her and wish her no harm or ill'' I'm not sure Dahlia should be included in that statment, though her betraying Alessa was unintentional. She does want to rectify her relationship with her daughter, thus her hiding Sharon.
Continued... She respects Alessa, Lisa (to an extent, it's sort of an example of Alessa's benevolence, when she puts her hand on her shoulder comfortingly) Dahlia and Rose All of those people respect her and wish her no harm or ill. She's cruel to the cultists because cruelty is the only thing that they have shown her
@Worseorbetter, true that, respect has to be earned. Case in point, the cultists show no respect towards Alessa in their actions towards her and Dark Alessa isn't all respectful to them in her actions. That's why I love Dark Alessa, she gives respect where respect is due
like Alessa, suffered from bullying in my childhood, I was ignored and whispered about, it left me wary of others for a good five years, I have only begun to open my arms to others and trust them. Anyway Christabella's pseudo cult is such a hypocrasy of what religion is, the main message of my religion, be kind to others and behave in a way ud like them to behave to you. In other words, Christabella, you should have been benevolent to Alessha, as she wanted to be too.

It's religious zealots like Christabella cult that give people like me a bad name. I'm a Christian-Catholic and I'm benevolent and gentle towards everyone, regardles s of who they are. That's not to say that I'm fully trusting
@TamaranEmpress One of the morals that I really like about Silent Hill is about trust and respect. In the film Rose has to prove to Alessa (ego) that she's worthy of these attributes; the same also holds true in life as both trust and respect are never to be vouchsaffed liberally, but are to be earned. I recall a punker friend back in high school once saying 'so many people seem to demand respect, it should never be demanded, it should be earned.'
The oddest thing plotwise about the movie was how they tried to make Dahlia seem sympathetic, when originally she was the one who offered Alessa up in the first place. It was her fault. And if I recall, wasn't Christabella Dahlia's mother? Or am I thinking of the wrong character?
This wasn't a bad movie at all. But it's different from the game, so fans automatically hated it..
@XxToKyOmEwxX In the process of adaptation, the transition from one media to another rarely goes accordingly if applied directly. A majority of the time changes in plot and character attributes are made in order to make a comprehensive story with-in the perspective budget and time perameters allowed. Quite often, this means of transention does alienate fans of the original material, but serves as a cohesive story to audiences unfamiliar with the games themselves.
@worseorbetter Of course! I totally understand all of that; but because I really, really hate Dahlia, it was difficult to take a sympathetic leap from the originally horrible woman she debuted as. I liked the movie was trying something different. There were elements only fans would get, but was still original enough outsiders would be able to understand and enjoy it too.
@XxToKyOmEwxX When I was introduced to Silent Hill it was via the movie and did not know that this film was derived from a video game for some time after. In essence, I am a bit more sympathetic towards Dalia in the sense of the film. On learning about her from the games Dalia is an abusive and manipulative bitch who exploits her daughter, Alessa for malicious purpose/s . For the most part I preffer to hold both the film and games seperate but correalate their simularities.
@worseorbetter To be honest, I entered the Silent Hill series through the movie as well.
Much like how you still feel sympathetic towards her somewhat, I still feel angry towards her for being a witch to Alessa. Though holding the two separate would be best, I still feel that it would be quite difficult to do so if only because both stories are very different in major ways and people familiar with one side of the media may envision the same character in a different perspective; permanently.
@XxToKyOmEwxX I think I see what you're saying: that people often tend to show favoritism to one genra over another and in doing so it is difficult to extinguish certian baises conjured from one media over another. I find both the games and film facinating with their allegorical approach, symbolism, stories, refference to other external sources and issues. With holding the game and movie apart in certian regards, I find it easier to be more diplomatic towards the separate genra's personally :)
Perceptions can also change when veiwed from a different angle sometimes resulting in ambivolence or a complete recess of the original perception. The mind tends often to remember malignance over civility; a facet that, in theory, can perpetuate the view of a character from being originally viewed as admirable to contemptible.
@worseorbetter Actually, that's not what I was saying at all!
Of course the games' stories are dripping with symbolic references and amazing storyline. But if you were to be accustomed to one telling of the tale, then surely when it is retold differently then you would find it difficult to see one character being portrayed in a completely different fashion? It has little to do with media change.
I'm all for retellings; if only Shattered Memories did it right!
@XxToKyOmEwxX Christabella was Dalia's sister. Christabella was loosely based on Claudia Wolf from the 3rd game. There are many facets that can be attributed to games 1-4.
Cont... Alessa's creation of Cheryl shows her benevelonce, she did not want to be mother of the god that would destroy the world. Cheryl is also an example of how Alessa desires a proper family and a childhood, which she gains vicarously through Cheryl. Her rebirth simbolizes how she wants to start anew with Harry, and her desire for a parental guidor
@powerbuzz69, in the games, Alessa was not percieved as evil either. She was abused by her mother and thought a witch, by her peers, eventually being burned alive for her troubles. When she does create the otherworld, it's justifiable.
0:14 doesnt it piss you off when parents tell their child that? makes me like umm wanna MURDER THOSE 1 CENT WHORE SONS OF BITCHES AND SEND THEM RIGHT TO HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!
duuude, this film sucked ass compared to the games, which were close enough to games anyway. SH2 is like, my favourite game ever. I prefer it to most films I know too.
On the account of Alessa's backstory the death sequences and character state subscribes to an eye for an eye motif, for they are quite symbolic to Alessa's own experiance. Barbed and razor wire are particuarly used with both Colin (janitor) and Christabella and her followers. The symbolism of barb wire, in conjunction with razor wire, is that of boundries of which are not to be crossed or violated.
Continuing on the address of symbology when Alessa achieves her retribution agians't her aunt the roles are subsequently reversed. Christabella judged Alessa, Alessa judges Christabella, Christabella was rendered defenseless as was Alessa, and when Christabella was cut in half along the sagratarial plane it was parallel to how Alessa's soul split in 2 as a subsequent result of her own perseqution of which her aunt is accountable.
Colin the Janitor deserved to be bound, gagged and killed, Christabella deserved to get sliced in half by barbed wire, but Alessa did NOT deserve to be set on fire after what she went through.
@leauxbert It could be, as it is initially discribed as a hallucinogenic. Such compound coupled with external information can have a profound influence on one's perception and judgement. Since there was no mention of White Claudia in the film I think the cultist's were just ignorant, nieve and stupid and would believe anything that their 'Great Leader' Christabella, would tell them.
Thanks for making me feel dumb Worseorbetter, just kidding. I didn't watch the movie, only a few scenes. I just felt really bad for Alessa and wish that hadn't happened to her.
@linon3000 If I did my apologies in advance, lol. But, check out the movie Silent Hill in its' entirety; as it is one of the best, if not the best, video game adaptation ever made. What Alessa had to go though was absolutely effed-up and I too wished none of it ever happened to her.
WTF was wrong with that girl's mother to let her go in such a matter? Poor Alessa, my knowledge in Silent Hill is very limited, but this is just very sad. Glad to know all those fuckers got their, but still someone should had stop this shit from happening.
@linon3000 Blatent nievety. After the incident with the school janitor Dalia thought that Christabella and her followers going to pray for Alessa's lost innocence; at least that was her perception. Alessa was far more apprehensive and questioning as to her aunts true motive.
@webmkm At least it would vindicate Alessa from all the abuse and subsequent years of turmoil that follow. Though, I have'nt thought of both Chloe Moretz (Hit-girl)and Jodelle Ferland (Alessa) both at simular combat capacity to challenge Silent Hill's, albeit, fanatical religious order. For Christabella and her flock of ignorant followers, seemingly null of individual thought it sounds like double trouble. 'Show's over motherfuckers" XD
Here's an idea: take Alessa out of Silent Hill at the age of 4 yrs. train her to be like Mindy Macready aka: Hit-girl (Chloe Maretz) then re-introduce her back to the town of Silent Hill. Christabella, the pedo-janitor (Collin), and the entire group of cultists would be known as ass kicked.
poor alessa i would of not burned her shes pretty and innocent she did nothing wrong damn janitor christabella every 1 that hated her will burn in hell for all eternity
ok i get the ending of the movie that was them exiting hell silent hill is basically hell so like basically they were still in silent hill thats why the father couldnt see them and they couldnt see the father and why it was dark and raining to them and light and sunny to him but they were technically home but in silent hill thats why it looks to the father they have been there the new silent hill movie is coming out very soon and will explain more of this cuz its really hard to explain
@dinophobiaXDRawr Being multi-dimential, it does get quite confusing. One way to explain it is to think of a 3 story building; The 1st floor being the actual world, next is the fog like state then finally the dark dimention. Each floor/ dimention layout is essentially the same, it is the interior design that's different from one dimention to the next.
Fucking religious cult instead of being a proper family to a little girl who has had her childhood snatched away they dispose of her like yesterdays rubbish i think they got their just cause just goes to show you cant depend on everyone
@KiraYamato636 Yep, and in one of the most sadistic methods imaginable. Radiant heat, from burning anthracite in this case, is far slower than more direct means of execution by burning.
@koolkat1784 Instead of offering the tormented child a means of condolance, or someone to confide in, the offering of support the school janitor opted for the use of malice toward Alessa. He took advantage of a defenseless 9 year old child, victimizing her through one of the worst forms of subjugation imaginable. Benevolence or malvolence? The choice was Colin's and he royally fucked up.
Red Pyramid/Pyramid Head is just a creature created by Alessa. Janitor is created of what Colin did to her, his punishment. Armless dude symbolizes how trapped and disfigured Alessa was, while the nurses represent Alessa's jealousy of beautiful woman
The nurses also represented Alessa's fear of hospitals and her mistrust of the medical staff. Also, in account as to why she was in the trauma unit (i.c.u) she had no capacity to trust anyone really.
I'll see if I can find it. But I recall once reading an interview with Akira Yamaoka of 'Team Silent' who co-produced the movie. Pyramid head was loosely based on an Egyptian god, Anubus, who was the judge of souls and a god of justice. In theology his astrological symbol is Libra representing the scales.
Yes, Because the janitor (colin) raped Alessa when she was in the bathroom and got her pregnant with Sharon. Then Sharon was sent to the orphanage where Rose (the main character of the movie) adopted her. The janitor hurt her by raping her.
Colin did rape Alessa, however this did not result in Sharon's conception. The incident with Colin occured Nov 2nd
1974, in 2006 Sharon is 9 years old meaning that she was born in 97', implying a 23 year pregnancy. Sharon is really an astrialprojection of Alessa's benevolent side.
When I first saw the movie I thought the same thing too LOL. Untill I actually got a chance to look at the dates and suddenly went '23 year pregnancy????' WTF O_o. So that led to a little more research pertaining to the first game and the creation of Cheyrl/Sharon.
no the janitor no was pyramid head he was the man full of metal bands in the school toillet ... -.-

RanaRandom 1 year ago
@RanaRandom Colin does sexually assault Alessa. Christabella, in talking with Dalia after the incident, take's the oppertunity in exploiting this event through ambigious dialogue. When Alessa inquires 'what does she mean?' it's quite obvious that Dalia did not posses the forsight which Alessa has. The dialogue can work 2 ways: 1) Alessa had been assaulted, prayers will be offered to restore purity/ innocence; 2) Alessa is a piece of filth that must be purified and being raped makes her more so
worseorbetter 1 year ago
@worseorbetter
It's disgusting so many cultures and religions think that way, that if a woman (or a child) is raped, she is soiled goods and only brings dishonor and sin, and the only decent thing for her to do is to die.
primohomme 1 year ago 3
@primohomme 'Honor killings' by definition a misleading term. The truth is their is nothing at all honorable about these killings such as the near death of Alessa in Silent Hill or the execution of Aisha Duhulow of Somolia. Through-out history, there have been those of power and affluence who have used the influence of theology to their own benefit and commit terrible crimes in the name of religion to justify divine persuit.

SanDhampir 1 year ago
@SanDhampir Alessa was unfairly persecuted for being a product of a sin in the eyes of the cultist's and those influenced by them. In their eyes, conception through wedlock is viewed of as a sin. It is true that Alessa was an illigitamate child and why Dahlia refuses to divulge the name of her father is not known. But, they had no right to condenm Alessa over something that she had no control over...the means in which she was concieved.
worseorbetter 1 year ago
@worseorbetter true. but u got to agree, killing a little girl seems cruel, don't you think?
SanDhampir 1 year ago
@SanDhampir I absolutely agree. It's also a reflection to how they used religion to justify an insidious crime in the name of divine persuit. Never once did they illicit the courtisey of fairness, acceptance or even took the time to really get to know her. Instead, they decided to prejudge Alessa; a child with the aptitude of a saint. Their actions fit the definition of cruel and idiotic in my opinion.

TamaranEmpress 1 year ago
''All of those people respect her and wish her no harm or ill'' I'm not sure Dahlia should be included in that statment, though her betraying Alessa was unintentional. She does want to rectify her relationship with her daughter, thus her hiding Sharon.
TamaranEmpress 1 year ago
Continued... She respects Alessa, Lisa (to an extent, it's sort of an example of Alessa's benevolence, when she puts her hand on her shoulder comfortingly) Dahlia and Rose All of those people respect her and wish her no harm or ill. She's cruel to the cultists because cruelty is the only thing that they have shown her
TamaranEmpress 1 year ago
@Worseorbetter, true that, respect has to be earned. Case in point, the cultists show no respect towards Alessa in their actions towards her and Dark Alessa isn't all respectful to them in her actions. That's why I love Dark Alessa, she gives respect where respect is due

It's religious zealots like Christabella cult that give people like me a bad name. I'm a Christian-Catholic and I'm benevolent and gentle towards everyone, regardles s of who they are. That's not to say that I'm fully trusting
TamaranEmpress 1 year ago
@TamaranEmpress One of the morals that I really like about Silent Hill is about trust and respect. In the film Rose has to prove to Alessa (ego) that she's worthy of these attributes; the same also holds true in life as both trust and respect are never to be vouchsaffed liberally, but are to be earned. I recall a punker friend back in high school once saying 'so many people seem to demand respect, it should never be demanded, it should be earned.'
worseorbetter 1 year ago
The oddest thing plotwise about the movie was how they tried to make Dahlia seem sympathetic, when originally she was the one who offered Alessa up in the first place. It was her fault. And if I recall, wasn't Christabella Dahlia's mother? Or am I thinking of the wrong character?
This wasn't a bad movie at all. But it's different from the game, so fans automatically hated it..
XxToKyOmEwxX 1 year ago
@XxToKyOmEwxX In the process of adaptation, the transition from one media to another rarely goes accordingly if applied directly. A majority of the time changes in plot and character attributes are made in order to make a comprehensive story with-in the perspective budget and time perameters allowed. Quite often, this means of transention does alienate fans of the original material, but serves as a cohesive story to audiences unfamiliar with the games themselves.
worseorbetter 1 year ago
@worseorbetter Of course! I totally understand all of that; but because I really, really hate Dahlia, it was difficult to take a sympathetic leap from the originally horrible woman she debuted as. I liked the movie was trying something different. There were elements only fans would get, but was still original enough outsiders would be able to understand and enjoy it too.
XxToKyOmEwxX 1 year ago
@XxToKyOmEwxX When I was introduced to Silent Hill it was via the movie and did not know that this film was derived from a video game for some time after. In essence, I am a bit more sympathetic towards Dalia in the sense of the film. On learning about her from the games Dalia is an abusive and manipulative bitch who exploits her daughter, Alessa for malicious purpose/s . For the most part I preffer to hold both the film and games seperate but correalate their simularities.
worseorbetter 1 year ago
@worseorbetter To be honest, I entered the Silent Hill series through the movie as well.
Much like how you still feel sympathetic towards her somewhat, I still feel angry towards her for being a witch to Alessa. Though holding the two separate would be best, I still feel that it would be quite difficult to do so if only because both stories are very different in major ways and people familiar with one side of the media may envision the same character in a different perspective; permanently.
XxToKyOmEwxX 1 year ago
@XxToKyOmEwxX I think I see what you're saying: that people often tend to show favoritism to one genra over another and in doing so it is difficult to extinguish certian baises conjured from one media over another. I find both the games and film facinating with their allegorical approach, symbolism, stories, refference to other external sources and issues. With holding the game and movie apart in certian regards, I find it easier to be more diplomatic towards the separate genra's personally :)
worseorbetter 1 year ago
Perceptions can also change when veiwed from a different angle sometimes resulting in ambivolence or a complete recess of the original perception. The mind tends often to remember malignance over civility; a facet that, in theory, can perpetuate the view of a character from being originally viewed as admirable to contemptible.
worseorbetter 1 year ago
@worseorbetter Actually, that's not what I was saying at all!
Of course the games' stories are dripping with symbolic references and amazing storyline. But if you were to be accustomed to one telling of the tale, then surely when it is retold differently then you would find it difficult to see one character being portrayed in a completely different fashion? It has little to do with media change.
I'm all for retellings; if only Shattered Memories did it right!
XxToKyOmEwxX 1 year ago
@XxToKyOmEwxX I see what you're saying now. Sorry, I was a little confused regarding the objective of the main point.

@worseorbetter No worries. No one ever said I was good at explaining anything. xDD; My apologies.
XxToKyOmEwxX 1 year ago
@XxToKyOmEwxX Christabella was Dalia's sister. Christabella was loosely based on Claudia Wolf from the 3rd game. There are many facets that can be attributed to games 1-4.
worseorbetter 1 year ago
@worseorbetter Ahh, I see. Okay, because it's been too long since I played the original SH1.
If she's based on Claudia, that gives me more reason to not like her. Ack.
The movie was better than people give it credit for because it takes elements from the 4 games and still managed to come up with something original.
XxToKyOmEwxX 1 year ago
TamaranEmpress 1 year ago
@powerbuzz69, in the games, Alessa was not percieved as evil either. She was abused by her mother and thought a witch, by her peers, eventually being burned alive for her troubles. When she does create the otherworld, it's justifiable.

On the account of Alessa's backstory the death sequences and character state subscribes to an eye for an eye motif, for they are quite symbolic to Alessa's own experiance. Barbed and razor wire are particuarly used with both Colin (janitor) and Christabella and her followers. The symbolism of barb wire, in conjunction with razor wire, is that of boundries of which are not to be crossed or violated.
worseorbetter 1 year ago
Continuing on the address of symbology when Alessa achieves her retribution agians't her aunt the roles are subsequently reversed. Christabella judged Alessa, Alessa judges Christabella, Christabella was rendered defenseless as was Alessa, and when Christabella was cut in half along the sagratarial plane it was parallel to how Alessa's soul split in 2 as a subsequent result of her own perseqution of which her aunt is accountable.
worseorbetter 1 year ago
Colin the Janitor deserved to be bound, gagged and killed, Christabella deserved to get sliced in half by barbed wire, but Alessa did NOT deserve to be set on fire after what she went through.

leauxbert 1 year ago
@leauxbert It could be, as it is initially discribed as a hallucinogenic. Such compound coupled with external information can have a profound influence on one's perception and judgement. Since there was no mention of White Claudia in the film I think the cultist's were just ignorant, nieve and stupid and would believe anything that their 'Great Leader' Christabella, would tell them.

linon3000 1 year ago
@linon3000 Blatent nievety. After the incident with the school janitor Dalia thought that Christabella and her followers going to pray for Alessa's lost innocence; at least that was her perception. Alessa was far more apprehensive and questioning as to her aunts true motive.

TheDarkness202 1 year ago

Christabella, the pedo-janitor (Collin), and the entire group of cultists would be known as ass kicked.

dinophobiaXDRawr 1 year ago
@dinophobiaXDRawr Being multi-dimential, it does get quite confusing. One way to explain it is to think of a 3 story building; The 1st floor being the actual world, next is the fog like state then finally the dark dimention. Each floor/ dimention layout is essentially the same, it is the interior design that's different from one dimention to the next.

Red Pyramid/Pyramid Head is just a creature created by Alessa. Janitor is created of what Colin did to her, his punishment. Armless dude symbolizes how trapped and disfigured Alessa was, while the nurses represent Alessa's jealousy of beautiful woman
TamaranEmpress 2 years ago
The nurses also represented Alessa's fear of hospitals and her mistrust of the medical staff. Also, in account as to why she was in the trauma unit (i.c.u) she had no capacity to trust anyone really.
worseorbetter 2 years ago
I'll see if I can find it. But I recall once reading an interview with Akira Yamaoka of 'Team Silent' who co-produced the movie. Pyramid head was loosely based on an Egyptian god, Anubus, who was the judge of souls and a god of justice. In theology his astrological symbol is Libra representing the scales.
worseorbetter 2 years ago
lol I just watched the movie and remember it. I play some of the games but they are slightly different than the film.
TheEmoAlucard 2 years ago
Yes, Because the janitor (colin) raped Alessa when she was in the bathroom and got her pregnant with Sharon. Then Sharon was sent to the orphanage where Rose (the main character of the movie) adopted her. The janitor hurt her by raping her.
TheEmoAlucard 2 years ago
Colin did rape Alessa, however this did not result in Sharon's conception. The incident with Colin occured Nov 2nd
1974, in 2006 Sharon is 9 years old meaning that she was born in 97', implying a 23 year pregnancy. Sharon is really an astrialprojection of Alessa's benevolent side.
worseorbetter 2 years ago
Oh, okay. I thought Alessa was sharon's biological mother.
