  • This music gets into your soul and it`s got you for life.

  • Does anybody know who the left handed guitar player is?

  • The best is always the best!!! Less is more!

    got blues?

  • And the legendary Otis Span on piano!!!

  • James Cotton has the most amazing vibrato, and he doesn't move the harp when he does it. Muddy's got his hairdo working on this one, too.

    Fantastic.

  • @Nittacci Hi there.

He using the Tongue Blocking technique. His tongue is going sideways. Awesome harp player!

  • @plecplec12 Yeah, I can see him tongue blocking now that you mention it. I'm trying to learn tongue-blocking on the chromatic harmonica, and it's wicked hard to do. But you get a much deeper, stronger sound when you tongue-block instead of just using the pucker technique. Somehow however, Toots Thielemans sounds great even though he doesn't tongue-block. Thanks for your post, plecplec12.

  • ain't none betta

  • Anyone know what key of harp Cotton is using? i know he likes the A but I dont think thats whats he is using.

  • @samuraiathletic

this sounds like it's in the key of G. so he must be playing a C harp. (i.e. cross harp)

  • @amslfive damn the only one i didnt think it was but youre right it is...havent been playing that long so thanks a lot man

  • Wow, thanks so much for putting this up for us to see. What classic sound and done when the pups like Eric Clapton and Mick Jagger were cutting their teeth. I was lucky enough to see Cotton and his band three times from 1968-71. He rocked out whether it was the Fillmore or a small club.
