OMG! I had one of these..a MUCH BETTER alternative to the ever popular Escort GT. I paid just over $12000, it had the Recaro pkg I drove everywhere in this little car. Thanks for posting this it brings back great memories

Hah, that commerical reminds me when I was stationed in Germany in the USAF... A German would not let an American car pass them... no matter what. I once passed a BMW 5 series back and forth for miles in my Chevy pickup truck (350 ci) finally he got in front of me, I couldnt pass him, but he couldnt pull away. I burried the speedo at over 120 mph, close enough to swap paint on our bumpers, Im sure the only thing he saw in his rear view mirror was that blue Chevy insigna on the trucks grill.

It was a fast little car!
And a total sleeper, the engine loved RPM's
the "16 valve" was the good one, while the Turbo version wasn't.

I paid 3k for my 1990 toyota pickup. And nothing has gone wrong with it. Well I did need to change the brakes a few times but thats all.
